Hey, all!
Well, now that our stateroom has finally been assigned, the cruise definitely seems more real. We booked an 8D GTY last June while onboard the Wonder and just got assigned yesterday. We didn't get upgraded, we are still in an Oceanview Family Stateroom, but we are in cabin 6674 on Deck 6 aft, which is just fine with me. I was dreading us being assigned a cabin on Deck 5 aft above the adult nightclubs. DH is a terrible light sleeper and even though we'll probably be up past midnight most nights, I'd much rather avoid the potential thumping from the bass that has been reported.
The kids are getting excited and we are starting to think about our FE gifts (I have some "regular" ones I usually make, but maybe I'll try some new things). This is
DCL cruise #11 for me, so since we are all in the same stateroom, we get Platinum perks. So no waiting at the terminal (we'll get there early, but will be among the first ones on), free Palo dinner for DH and I, Gold/Platinum Reception for us all, and a few other goodies. The days are just going by so quickly! Even though we've all been on so many DCL cruises, being on a new ship for the first time is so exciting. We'll get off the first CC day, stay onboard at Nassau, then maybe just spend the morning at CC the double dip day. There are a bunch of movies we want to see and we really want to be able to explore and "get to know" our new "home away from home."
Our kids will be 16, 13, and almost 11 at the time of the cruise. Our DD10's birthday is August 3rd, so she'll be less than 2 months from turning 11. I'm hoping that they will allow her to go to the tween club with her brother. She has outgrown the Oceaneers Lab and the tween club would be a much better fit for her. They have been accomodating in the past, so I think the chances are pretty good they'll let her move up. I would just feel better them staying together (okay, in the same room - fat chance they will actually even acknowledge each other!) and walking back to the room at nighttime together. I asked them about getting to know some kids online before the cruise, which they've done before, but they said they just want to "wing it."
This is going to be fun!
