Tick tock, tick tock Hook's afraid..Oops I mean time is running out to join the FE list. Don't get left out of the fun:yay: I am putting the lists in order and have room for several more. We have 14 cabins on each list so far:cool1:
Is it June yet?!!:beach:

I know I am crazy but is anyone else looking at the 2012 cruises about to be released? I really thought we would be looking at a Galveston cruise in December 2012 since it would be closer to home and I was hoping it would be a lot cheaper than the Fantasy. However, now that I see the 5 night Canadian cruises out of NYC I think I really want to look into those. The kids will be 7 and 10 next summer and I think some pre- or post-cruise days in NYC could be a lot of fun. Of course that means I only have about 12 months to save up the money for another trip. :scared1:

I would ideally like to book onboard our Dream cruise to get an OBC and discount but I am afraid the prices might go up too much by then. I guess I can book now (assuming the prices are not too high to start with) and then hope we can bring down the price a little by rebooking onboard.

Nope, Foohpah, you're not the only one looking at those cruises.

I saw Galveston and got excited. So much cheaper to just drive to port than fly. And even though I live in Texas, I've never been to Mexico. DD will be off at college that fall so it'd just be DH & I. :) It'd be a perfect "us only" trip. The only problem is we've been planning on heading to WDW that fall for a week at the Food & Wine Fest. DH loves the F&W and we've only been able to do long weekends to it due to DD's school schedule and there not being anyone for her to stay with here. Both of us have been looking forward to a week at WDW during the F&W Fest just the two of us. Now this option presents itself...

Decisions, decisions, decisions... what do we want to give our money to the Mouse for next year? :lmao:

I have been looking too :) Galveston is quite a drive for us, but still doable and a flight to Houston is cheaper than PC.. I know the kids would love to sail on the Magic again (so would I) :goodvibes

We're staying at the MCO Hyatt before the cruise. Would love to meet up with anyone else staying there the night before but we aren't getting in until 11 that night. Anyone want to meet up for bus check in or coffee Sunday morning? ;)

I have to say one of the things I love about being apart of this group is checking in every morning and see someone post how many days we have left. It's nice seeing others as excited as I am about those number of days left getting smaller :goodvibes

Will be getting into the Hyatt around 6PM on Saturday. We are also taking the Disney Transportation. I would be more than happy to buy a cup of coffee in exchange for showing us the ropes since this is our 1st cruise.

If anyone is staying at Disney the night before the cruise we'd be up to a meet.

Marci

Marci,
We will be at Bay Lake Towers for 4 nights before the cruise.
I have planned MK for Friday and Hollywood Studios for Saturday (Cause I love the crowds, woo hoo!)

Where will you be staying?
Will you be around on Friday? I'm thinking of
a Dole Whip at 1pm on June 10th!

Anyone else going to be around for a meet in the World before the cruise?

Welcome to the new cruisers. I have been busy the last few days with DS turning 4 on Saturday. Our little boy is growing up quick.

Also my main computer crashed on Sunday that has my taxes on it with all that was left to do on is hit the efile button on turbotax. :badpc::badpc: :scared1: Calls to support # for computer, motherboard, and video card companies did not fix the problem. I ended up figuring it out on my own by moving graphics card.

As for the Dis meeting location can we put that on the front page whenever the decision is finally made. That way we don't have to go searching through the thread?

Don't know what ropes I can show you. It's only my 2nd cruise and it'll be the first time I do Disney Transport. But I'd be glad to show you what I know :goodvibes

Darn -- we aren't in the MK until after the cruise. How about meeting up at a hotel that night? We are staying at the Grand Floridian. See below.

We'll be at the Beach Club (Villas) from the 9th through the 12th and would definitely be game for a meet. :goodvibes

We will be at Yachtsman for an early dinner. Would both of you like to meet at either the beach/yacht, BLT (can non-guests get in there?) or GF? I would LOVE to meet up.

We are at WDW June 4 -10 at POFQ then we are heading over to Cocoa Beach for the two nights before the cruise and we are currently planning to do KSC on Saturday.

We can't do Dole Whips on Friday. We have to be at HS for SWW or the boys will stage a coup. :yoda:

The kids passports came in yesterday. I am glad I got them now just in case the government shut down happens. I was afraid they might get stuck in limbo. We have the birth certificates but I prefer travelling with the passports. I really wish kids passports could be renewed like adults without having to go through the whole process again. It is kind of a pain but at least we are good for 5 more years.

I understand the coup! Aren't kids passports a pain? And my husband and I don't work close enough together (across town in Dallas) to go to the passport office at the same time so we have to have notarized documents as to why he's not there in person. Sheesh. I know why they do it, but why can't they have evening hours at a local office?

Awesome that they arrived! We're still waiting for ours and I'm really hoping this shutdown doesn't happen (or that it's really short if it does). I keep checking the passport status, but so far no change. If we don't get them on time I'm going to need to request more copies of our birth certificates since the ones we have are with our passport applications. Oh well, nothing I can do about it, right?

Have a great day, everyone!

We will be at Disney for a few days before the cruise. A day at Downtown Disney and then one day at MK. We're staying off-site, but not sure where yet! Gotta decide soon!!!

If you had a meet at a Disney resort, would I be allowed to come in as a "guest" or something like get a "visitor's pass"???

Do we need passports? I thought we only needed a driver's license if it is a closed loop cruise.

You don't need passports, but you'll need certified copies of birth certificates if you don't have them. I don't think a driver's license is sufficient, but hopefully someone will know for sure.

What a relief! My husband and daughters and I have passports but my Mom (who is going with us) does not. She would be in a serious time crunch if she had to get one. I'll let her know :-)

The benefit of having a passport is it is the only way to get back into the USA by air. So if anything happens on the cruise they will not let you fly back in without a passport.

Add my kids to the list that has passports currently being processed so they have our birth certificates also. I highly doubt the goverment will shutdown for more than a week so it should not be an isssue. The goverment unions have already filed lawsuits about the shutdown.

As cvac said, your Mom will need a Certified copy her birth certificate (must be an official State/County copy and not a Hospital-issued copy), along with her drivers license or State I.D. This is a U.S. Customs requirement, something DCL has no control over.

My daughter & I applied for our Passports last August and received them in about 3 weeks, with our Birth Certificates arriving separately about 2 days later. I wanted to make sure we had plenty of time.
