Disney Dream - June 12, 2011

Where should we stay the night before the cruise. I looked into Country Inn and Suites. It's $139 and includes free parking during the cruise. Anyone with suggestions?:confused3

Steven

There's also Raddison Resort at the Port.

Looks really nice and it's about the same price as Country Inn and Suites. It's a good deal considering the cost of parking. I would like to stay there, but I think we're doing Disney a couple days before the cruise and will stay near Disney (off site), then make the hour drive from WDW to Port Canaveral.

We had a ton of fun with the FE on our last cruise, so looking forward to this one, we did gifts from our home state last time. Being from NC did some moonshine for the adults, then some fun pirate themed stuff for the kids.

The kids go back to school, I am already back at work, so the vacation is over and the reality that will live with us for another 6 months sets in.

Has anyone set any resolutions surrounding the cruise for the new year?

I also can't wait to get started on the FE plans! Hopefully we can find out soon about getting it organized. We did the FE on our Cruise in 2009 and it was so much fun!!

I made a resolution to lose some weight before the cruise. I'm taking cardio kick boxing and it's helping some. I've lost a whole 4 pounds but I'm sure I've gained it back from all the holiday goodies!! Gotta get back on track now!!

Oh, the Radisson looks like it has a nice big pool and the free parking deal too. We'll have to check into that one more. Thanks.

Happy New Year everyone! :goodvibes

Yes, I know I'm a couple days late but better late than never, right? :lmao:

My main resolution is to figure out where we're staying the night before the cruise, lol. Every time I think I have my husband pinned down on what he wants to do he changes his mind :headache: He does this every vacation. That's why I plan them. I need to remember that and stop trying to get him to help me make decisions. Just need to do it and tell him how it's gonna be LOL :lmao:

On an up note, I did get him to look at some excursions. Still no idea on if we want to do anything in Nassau but we are looking at doing the Waverunner (?) excursion on Castaway Cay.:thumbsup2 That's progress.

Now if airfare will just come down I'll be happy and can finalize some plans

Great Video.

We stay at the Residence Inn, Platinum Rewards has some advantages. Then we park at the port. That way we are not waiting on a shuttle. Bags right to the car and then off to WDW.

Hi everyone and Happy New Year.

Now that we have gotten through some other things and the holidays, we can start to focus on our summer vacation. Thanks for the link. Great video.

I will reintroduce ourself - It will myself, DH (Ben), and DS (Rob who will be 12 at cruise time)

We can't wait to be on the new ship.:love: :banana:

Happy New Year to you too. It's been a while since I've posted on here also. I'm Steven (CPA) and my wife Stephanie (teacher) and daughter Ansley, 14 months (Napper) are very excited about the cruise. We haven't been on a Disney cruise since 2006.

My wife asked me about fish extenders last night. Do we know if the Dream has a fish to extend from? Also, we want on the list if and when it's made.

Hello, I am in SC, too, only about an hour from Spartanburg!! I am also wondering about the FE, too. I emailed the OP to see if we can get the FE plans started!!

We will be celebrating my DD's 16th birthday on the cruise, mom/daughter only trip!! Can't wait!

Hello, everyone! We are just back from a lovely 2 week stay at the parks. I had heard such horror stories about the parks at Christmastime and was very pleasantly surprised at the crowds. I hope I haven't missed too much in my absence, but I hope everyone had a great Christmas a New Year! 2011 already...now we can offically say we're cruising this year!!

As to the FE, I hadn't planned on heading it up (but I recall we had several volunteers). However, I will be happy to post any updates on the first page if the FE coordinators want to just PM me. Take care everyone! :goodvibes

Cool, so did y'all have a white christmas in your part of SC?? We did, it was pretty cool to have snow on the ground Christmas night.

Glad you had a good time. We would look to go at Christmastime. We were just talking about that this afternoon.

Happy New Year everyone!

I totally remember trying to figure out where we were going to stay before our first cruise and how to get to the port...so many options...stay at/near Disney, at MCO, near the port, etc...of course since we moved 20 minutes away from the port a week before we left all of our planning was for naught so we don't have to worry about that this time....

Speaking of living near the port, my wife drove over there today since the Dream arrived this morning (though she didn't get up early enough to actually see it come in) and was very impressed with the size of it....I'm hoping to get over to see her soon, hopefully on one of the days she's going out to sea on a test cruise so I can see her in the channel instead of at the terminal... originally I had planned to see it leave on the inaugural cruise, but sadly I think the new job is going to get in the way (I put in my request for the time off for the our cruise yesterday since I'm now official instead of a temp...just waiting for it to get approved, which I don't think will be a problem)

I'm still in for the FE...I don't know about organizing it though...I'm prob going to hit all of them regardless of if we split the ship or not

Happy New Year everyone! Just thought I would check in since I haven't been on the boards in a while. Looks like I have quite of bit of catching up to do! Now that the holidays are over I am so ready to start planning our trip. The snow we got today had me wishing for June to hurry up and get here!

Ashman thanks for the link. It makes me even more excited!

We are in for the FE exchange whenever that starts to get organized.
