Disney Dream - June 12, 2011

GOOD MORNING FELLOW CRUISERS!!

Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, Happy Holidays!! Hope everyone had a good holiday season. We are battleing colds in this house now. I have laryngitis and a stuffed up head and chest....but not so much a runny nose...which I find odd. I can breath fine, but feel cruddy. Connor has the sneezing and runny nose. Colton spent 2 days in bed before Christmas trying to sleep it off. And I guess he shared it with my Mom too. She feels lousy and is so stuffed up she can't breath and is sleeping on the couch in the upright position. Ah, the joys of the holidays, being together and sharing....EVERYTHING!

We are still trying to figure out our trip schedule! Do we try to squeeze in all the parks AND Universal before the cruise or do we just do Disney before and USO after? I have printed off a few calendars and we are playing around with it. We need to decide soon so that we can book our Condo/Timeshare and make our ADRs! I don't want to miss out on getting what we want and with the kids stay free special going on in that time too, it might make it more demanding.

I am loving all the links for the Dream's arrival at Port Canaveral! and I LOVE the one of the Dream and the Magic on New Years Day where they had the horn battle! O M G! When the Dream plays "A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes" I just melt!!!

You can count us in on the FE! I am not sure if the other's in our party want to participate. I'll ask since they are not on these boards!

Snow to move in here later tonight, so I am hoping for a 2 hour delay in the morning...or a snow day! LOL it was hard getting back to routine this week!

Time to get started on the day. Need to make a run to Walmart...even though I don't feel the best, we need a few staples items as well as a new supply of Puffs! LOL I might even get some Vicks Vapo-rub and see if I can open up my chest a bit!

I hope you all have a great day!

Well, we've decided we need to shape up for this cruise. So, we bought a treadmill and a television. Hey, maybe those cancel each other out. HA! Hopefully, we'll stick to it.

Hi everyone. Hope everyone is doing well. Still trying to decide if we will stay in the Orlando area the Friday night after we get off of the ship. I was thinking of maybe staying in the Downtown Disney area. Does anyone have any recommendations for a hotel in that area? I would only be staying for one night. We would need to leave on Saturday to start driving back home.

Aren't you just loving all of the pictures and video of the Dream in Port Canaveral and Castaway Cay? She is such a beautiful ship! Can't wait to see her in person.

Goodnight all!

Just checking in :surfweb:Great video :happytv:I see more SC people I live on the coast about 10minutes from Charleston SC :banana:cant wait to meet everyone

Happy New Year everyone! Just thought I would check in since I haven't been on the boards in a while. Looks like I have quite of bit of catching up to do! Now that the holidays are over I am so ready to start planning our trip. The snow we got today had me wishing for June to hurry up and get here!

Ashman thanks for the link. It makes me even more excited!

We are in for the FE exchange whenever that starts to get organized.

Hey, Bashful in TN! We are in Knoxville, too. We live in the Karns area. When and how are you getting to Florida? We are going to leave on the 11th and are renting a minivan (there are 5 of us). I am sooooo excited!

I'm also having problems deciding what to do. We are going to the parks Thursday and Friday, but not sure after that. We are staying at the Contemporary. I don't think I want to pay the price to stay an extra night, but it will be late when the parks close. Plus, I'm not sure how to get a car without having to take time away from the parks. I am 90% sure that after the cruise we are going to spend the day at Kennedy Space Center. Probably drive to the airport that evening since our flight leaves at 7am Sat morning. So many more decisions: go see Nassau (never been) or just stay on the ship; any excursions at Castaway; need dining reservations; FE gifts.

At least it is all fun decisions. Have a good weekend.

Plus, I'm not sure how to get a car without having to take time away from the parks.

Check Alamo/National since they are on property at the Car Care Center right outside the TTC and at the Dolphin...they will pick you up from your hotel (It'll be like a 5 minute drive from the Contemporary to the Care Care Center) and take you over there to get the car, or if your at Epcot it's an easy walk from the International Gateway to the Dolphin (might as well stop at the Fountain while your there...the best milkshakes on property in my opinion, and the food is pretty good too)

So now that we are back from our holiday trip to Sanibel, I have decided to get busy with the other reservations for our June trip. I made reservations at the Radisson on June 11th and we are reserved on the 10:00 am shuttle. I also made a reservation for 1 night at Hard Rock for June 17th. We then are reserved for a condo at Windsor Hills from June 18th to 25th(got a good deal). Taylor is now registered for Sea World Career Camp starting June 20th and ending the 25th (I received an early bird discount postcard in the mail!) So now all that is left is to purchase Universal 2 day tickets(we want to see Harry Potter!), buy a fish extender and gifts, pay off the cruise and decide and book any excursions or activities, and watch all the new videos and read all reports about the first sailings of the Dream! We are getting beyond excited here!!!:banana::banana:

Cool! We are in South Knoxville.

We are driving down too. Planning on leaving the afternoon of the 10th driving part of the way and then finishing up on the 11th. My brother (txvjc) lives in Cocoa about 20 mins from the port so we are staying with him the night before.

Have any of you seen this video yet? The Wonder, on its way out of Port Canaveral, is passing the Dream. I know that the Dream is larger than the Wonder, but I didn't realize how much larger. Also, the Dream answers the Wonder's horn. Gave me chills!!!

Tammy, I saw this too!! I was amazed at the size difference! WOW! It makes me excited to see her in person though! Can't wait!!

Well, the driveway has been cleared...again...LOL I think we might get another inch or 2 before the end of the day, but this 3" is just a preview of what's to come. if it all pans out like the weatherman is thinking, we could get 9" between Monday night and Thursday morning! I hate to shovel snow! Although, I have found that using the push broom is a bit easier when it's not that deep!

Today is Steve's birthday! Going to make a cake and whatever he wants for dinner later! Time for some coffee and breakfast!

Have a great day!

We are also staying at the Radisson on June 11th and scheduled for the 10:00 a.m. shuttle. Isn't it so exciting to actually have things reserved? Maybe we'll see you while waiting for the shuttle. I'm still trying to decide where to stay the night of June 17th. We are not going to the Parks after the Cruise because I go back to work on Monday, but I was thinking about going to Downtown Disney and staying at a Hotel near there. I've been looking at The Royal Plaza and was wondering if anyone has stayed there and could give me their opinion of it. We would only be staying for 1 night and then leaving on the 18th to start driving back home.

Hello Everyone! Loved seeing the video of the Wonder leaving for California past the Dream. The dueling horns get to me everytime. I just can't quite wait.

I think we have just about finalized our pre-cruise plans. Right now we are going to Pop Century June 5 -10, then I believe we will go to the port and stay at CI&S for two nights and spend the day before the cruise at KSC. The of course we board as soon as possible on the 12th. We will drive home right after the cruise - taking two days so we will get home late on Saturday. It is going to be a fabulous vacation! For the first time I also do not think that I will be sad leaving WDW since we know we have the cruise to look forward to!

Good Afternoon from the Freezing Hills of West-by-God Virginia! Brrr!

I just found this video on Youtube and it made me LOL! Listen Rachel at the end....."and we know you are all wondering...." YAY! I am happy to hear! LOL

Change in plans for us tonight! Since it's Steve's birthday, friends have asked if we want to go out! Yay! No cooking for me tonight! and I'll bake a cake tomorrow since we'll probably get dessert at Logans!

Have a great night! and if I find any more videos, I'll be sure to post!

A Dream is a wish your hearts makes, to be on Castaway Cay! LOL
