Disney Dream - June 12, 2011

Merry Christmas everyone!

Just got back from our pre-Christmas cruise on the Wonder (Dec. 19-23.) It was our son's first cruise and he had a blast (especially in Flounder's!!!)

We are going to be on the 4 Night Feb. 20, 2010 Cruise on the Dream. If you have any special questions or requests about the ship, let me know and I will do my best to answer your questions and inquiries! :)

I wish everyone a wonderful rest of the holiday season and a very Happy New Year!

See everyone in 24 weeks! :) or 168 days! or 4032 hours! or 241920 minutes! or 14515200 seconds!! Okay, I'll stop! :)

Merry Christmas Scott & family and Happy New Year!

My special request about the ship on your February cruise is pictures, pictures and more pictures. Please post as many pictures as you can. One thing I have been wondering about and you can let us know is where are the hottubs? Do they have any in the family area? Inquiring minds want to know! And please report on anything and everything else about the ship!

24 weeks or 168 days sounds much better than 14515200 seconds! That just makes it seem much longer for some reason. See all of you then!

MERRY CHRISTMAS Fellow Cruisers!! :santa:

We celebrated Christmas on the Eve....had a small turkey dinner with all the trimmings and let the boys open their gifts. Then on Christmas Day we drove up to see Steve's parents. We'll leave Friday to go see my family.

Tammy, I had not seen that video. Thanks! As I watch MORE snow fall outside my window, it makes me yearn to be on the ship even more!

Scott, Welcome home and like the others, I want lots of pictures....but with details....like the FE's, and the quick service restaurants and the main dining rooms and the pool areas, and the staterooms and and and and!! Aren't you glad we are into the digital age? can you imagine taking the photos, Hoping they came out ok, developing them, which used to take a week!, scanning and uploading them? Boy, we've come a long way! LOL we want to know everything about the Dream!

It looks like we might have a change in plans for us....I think we are going to go to WDW the week before the cruise, then go to USO after the cruise. Steve's boss has asked him to take vacation time in weeks, instead of days, that means we would have to end our trip on Sunday instead of Wednesday. It's going to be a 2 week MAGICal, WONDERful, DREAMy time! LOL

Here is it 1pm, I am still in my jammies and the boys have not even stirred yet! I need to get all the Christmas gift stuff put away today and do some wash. Tomorrow, I think, we'll take down the Christmas decor. It's a bit early, but since we are going to be gone next weekend, I'd rather come home to it all done! Especially since everyone will be back to school and work, I won't have any helpers.....which is sometimes good and sometimes bad! LOL

Off to start the day!

Congratulations to Sean! That is so exciting.

The kids are driving me nuts. Christmas can't get here soon enough. I have a feeling that Christmas is going to start before 5am. They have been talking non-stop about opening presents and saying "I hope I get ..."

Tomorrow we are going to going to probably play many card, domino and board games to keep them busy.

Rose, tell Sean congratulations on his grades! That is a great accomplishment for one who has ADHD. (That is one of my daughter's issues, although she has more learning disabilities other than ADHD.) I know you are very proud of him!

Thanks!

Merry Christmas everyone! The big reveal went great! The girls opened up their bags. My youngest said, "Are we going on another cruise?" They then read the following poem attached to their bags:

"This present is not what at first it may seem;
To figure it out, you must work as a team;
Go through the bags but don't hurry or dash;
Some papers are clues and some are trash;
When the letters are in order, without error or slip;
You will discover the location of our next trip!"

We balled up a ton of paper and on 8 slips of paper wrote the following letters:

A,D,E,H,M,R, and T

My youngest said, "Awe man, no C, no cruise!"

They then started sorting got the "THE" pretty quick, to a while to get the "DREAM" but when they did the look on their faces was great.

"We are going on the new Disney ship? OH YEAH!"

We booked this back when they first released the dates, we have been sitting on this for a while, glad to have it out in the open!

Awesome! :thumbsup2:goodvibes

Merry Christmas Everyone!!!:santa:
Ashman, what a wonderful gift for your kiddos! I would not have been able to keep it a secret this long!

Sean, congratulation!! What an accomlishment! You should be very proud!
My nephew is home from Tulane and he didn't do so well his first semester. It was alot tougher than he thought. But, now he knows what he has to do to bring up his grades.

I am so excited about all the pictures and videos Disney is releasing! The cabins look even nicer than they did in the original photos! Or is that just me getting more excited!

Hope everyone is well. Talk again soon.

Thanks!
The first year is an adjustment for most kids going to college.
Sean is in his 3rd year, it's taken him this long to figure out what works best for him.
So your nephew will learn to adjust too:goodvibes

I haven't been watching the new pics or videos to see!
Someone post some good links!
I'm excited!:yay::woohoo:

Merry Christmas everyone!! hope everyone had a wonderful day and no one got coal! lol

our actual Christmas will be on Sunday, can't wait until the kids figure out where we are going on vacation!!:cool1:

Rose congrats to your son on his grades!! that's terrific!!

Merry Christmas everyone!! :santa:

Thanks!

Happy Christmas today!
Please tell us how your kids react to the trip news!

We want to see lots of pics and read everything about your trip that you can tell us of course!

How about whether or not Remy is worth the $$$?
And if their menu is flexible for people who don't like certain foods.

Great going with the extra vacation!:thumbsup2
Glad your Christmas was great, as I hope everyone's was.

Our was good as well:goodvibes

Michele, I've been lounging around all day and it's 5:43!:eek:
Thought I'd do more today, but :rolleyes:
I decided to give myself a break.
Tomorrow should start with overtime almost everyday 10 hours and perhaps working 6 days a week.
I need it.... I must pay off our trip and all the extra I spent Christmas shopping:headache: So I figure I can just relax and be a slug today.

Hope everyone had a great Christmas. We did except for Ethan being sick. One more week off work and then my next vacation is the cruise (as of right now).

Been spending yesterday and today with legos and wii games. What a fun time of year.

Tree is down. Tomorrow I will be baking Sydney's cake: a big cupcake (as seen on TV).

Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas. We left Atlanta on Christmas morning for our annual trip to Sanibel with my parents. Luckily we beat the snow and ice! I swear that my van tried to veer onto the Florida Turnpike toward Orlando as we passed it!

Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas :goodvibes

Rose - Congratulations to Sean! I'm glad he's figured out what works for him. Not looking forward to that in a couple years. My daughter has a tendency to not do things if they don't come easy to her. Her kindergarten teacher and I noticed it that years ago. She's finally hitting the point in high school where she can't just breeze thru things. It's caused a few rough moments at home. Been trying to gentley suggest things but that doesn't go well most of the time LOL. Worried about how she'll do in college a couple of years when she's away from home. But I guess that's the life of a parent - agonize as we watch them struggle and work things out themselves and then celebrate once they make it thru.

Tammy - Thanks for sharing that link. Every picture I see just gets me more excited about the cruise.

Wow, I've heard lots of people being sick through the holiday.
Hope Ethan feels better soon.

Wish I had a Wii! What fun!

You are quick taking your tree down!:thumbsup2
I probably won't get to it till this weekend.

Agreed:thumbsup2
And when they're teens( and well into their 20's too I've heard) you can't tell them anything! Because they know it all;):rolleyes:

Your daughter will find her own way:goodvibes

Good Morning Fellow Cruisers!! :sunny:

The sun is SHINING!! And I am LOVING it!!! I have missed the sun this past 2 weeks! It's been nothing but gray and snow! They say it will warm up this week, rain at the end of the week and 50! But it's short lived, more cold and snow for late next week. Ugh. This winter is quickly becoming one of the weatherman's top 10 for snow and cold.

DMMom, I hope you are feeling better and that Ethan gets better soon!

Rose, I don't think I said, but Congrats to Sean from us as well. I too, see my sons struggle and I try to guide them, but until they do it and learn it for themselves, it just ain't happening!

Ashman, that was a really cool way to surprise the girls with the trip! We can't seem to keep anything a secret! We did on Christmas trip on the Wonder. The boys thought we were just "going to the beach for the day" When I said, "Oh! There is the Disney Wonder! I wonder if they will let us on to have lunch?" Colton said, "No mom. you can't do that." I said, "Well, I guess we'll have to board for a few days!" THEN they got it!

Inside Christmas decor is down and packed away, but I didn't get it into the attic last night. Will do that today and CLEAN this house! Having everyone home makes it messy! LOL This evening we'll watch the WVU Mountaineers take on the NC State Wolfpack.....IN ORLANDO! So wish we were there! Have a few friends that went down to watch the game and take in the parks too!

Have a great day!

It's Sydney's 10th Birthday today. :yay: We went to Incredible Pizza Company to celebrate and will have cake tonight. She already opened her presents this morning. I guess it is still too much to ask to wait until cake in the evening to open presents. Tomorrow we are going to see Yogi Bear. Probably going bowling Thursday. Not sure what we are doing Friday. It will depend on the weather. Today was warm enough that the snow was melting.

I'm amazed at everyone that can keep surprises. I should try it some time, but I'm terrible with secrets.

Time to get more laundry done. :laundy:
