GOOD MORNING FELLOW CRUISERS!! :banana:

Rose, I would love to try some of those drinks as well! If we can't get them on board, then I guess I'll have to wait until the next week when we get to the parks!

Paige, You and your family look beautiful!!

Tammy, Congrats to Rachel on her ring! I have never heard of a ring ceremony. We traditionally get our rings at the end of our sophomore year and wear the ring facing yourself, then at the beginning of your senior year, you turn it to face away. But we always just did it, no ceremony. Colton already has his. I don't know why they ordered them at the beginning of the sophomore year? He loves it though.

Last night was one of THE best football games I have every watched and it ended HORRIBLY. :sad1: It was us...Hurricane, ranked #5 against South Charleston, ranked #4 and a local team as well, but we did not play them in regular season play. Our boys came to WIN, and even though the score board said otherwise, we did win. The final score was South Charleston 30, Hurricane 26. South Charleston has a reputation for playing dirty. They were out for blood for some of our boys. One of our players was downed on the field, writhing in pain. they get him off the field and he then stands up and is showing the coach what happened...he's taking his foot and running it down his other calf...they were stomping/running a cleat on his calf to get him out of the game. With just 2:33 left on the clock, we took possesion of the ball...all we had to do was hold on to it. We were up 26-22 Our running back has the ball, 3 SC defenders come around, spin him like a top and all the sudden, SC takes off running, with the ball....stripped the ball and ran for a touch down. (What the ????) Now we have the ball again....22 seconds on the clock, we pass, it's intercepted, there's a struggle for the ball, push comes to shove, and all of the sudden the entire SC bench clears and is on the field. (Thankfully, our boys were smart enough to stay off the field, with the exception of those that were already there) There were also SC parents that jumped down from the stands...it was melee. Total chaos. The Charleston Police were on the field...pepper spray was used and at least 2 of our boys..and who know how many SC boys...were tasered!! YES, TASERED! After everyone was to the sidelines again, the refs, coaches and PD had a discussion, center field. The refs picked up thier flags and walked off. The announcer asked for the SC bus drivers to report to thier busses immediatly. There was no shaking of hands, there was no thank you for coming, there is still 14.6 seconds left on the clock, unplayed. But both coaches in interviews said it was best not to play out the remaining seconds. SO, now it's to be decided.....HOW MANY of SC's players were ejected? Enough that they won't have enough to play the next round of playoff games? Will the WVSSAC decide that they were so bad they were eliminated from play offs? Will SC have to forfeit the next game? I have no idea...we'll know more tomorrow. when that ball was stripped, my heart just sank...here we were, just minutes from winning the second round of playoffs...making school history, again....and it was gone. Then, with seconds on the clock and the ball is intercepted......wow......My heart goes out to The Hurricane Redskins. What an awesome team, awesome coaching staff. They were the first team in school history to go 10-1...now 10-2....and the first team to make it to the second round of playoffs! THAT they should be VERY proud of!!!!!

Soooo, with that mess, football season is over, marching band season is over. Now we move on to weight lifting for Connor....he'll start lifting with the high school football team in January... and pep band/competition band season for Colton. Things will be a bit calmer...but with the holidays quickly upon us, that's a GOOD thing!!!

May you all be blessed this Thanksgiving season! Be safe in your travels and enjoy your time with family and friends!!

Hello to eveyone on the thread! I have said that I would do better to follow, but life has been, well, stupid busy, as it is for everyone else. We take on too much, don't we? Anyway, we celebrated the 235th USMC birthday last weekend. Here is a couple of pics of us. My in-laws attended, as well as my children, since it is our last one as an "active duty family." Please forget my dress, as that is what I will wear if there is a formal night on the Dream.:rotfl:

Wow!:eek::sad2:
I hope it ends up with your team winning. Sorry it went like that though, that is awful!
Football is so rough to begin with.

Happy Thanksgiving Eve to everyone! I know many schools are out this entire week, but our school district only takes Wed-Fri off. So the last two days meant work for me and school for the boys. Therefore, today is my big day to get all my Thanksgiving prep done. I did at least already make my run to the grocery store, so I shouldn't have to fight those crowds -- just lots of time in my kitchen.

Many of you mentioned high school football and band season wrapping up. For us it is still rolling along. Our boys are not in HS yet, but the school that they will attend is a reigning powerhouse in Texas. They have played in the Division 1 5A Championship game four of the last five years, and won the title in 2005, 2007, and 2009. They were actually in a Gatorade commercial and featured on CBS Evening News for their "Haka" spirit dance in 2007. One of our boys in particular is a huge fan, so my DH starting taking him on road trips for the playoffs last year. It ended up being great one-on-one time for them, which is sometimes hard to come by with 3 kids. Hopefully we have four more games left. Go Trojans!

I hope each of you enjoy time with family and friends this week. Happy Thanksgiving.

GOOD MORNING FELLOW CRUISERS!! :banana:

Getting ready for the Thanksgiving drive! LOL More so than usual this year. Steve has to work today and tomorrow, but the boys and I are going to my parent's today in OH (4 hours), to my sister's in MI tomorrow (2 hours) back to my parent's for the night (2hours), then leaving really early on Friday to come home (4hours) to get Steve so we can go to his parent's (2hours both ways) to have dinner with them! PHEW! I could go from my parent's to his parent's and meet him there, but it would actually be more in gas and I'll be exhausted from the other driving and we'll be late coming home Friday night, AND it will give us extra family time if I come home first!

Holly, that's wonderful that your DH and Son have found a special "thing" just for them.

This fight from Friday night has become quite the mess. the South Charleston players that were DQ'd have hired an attorney who took their case to a judge who granted them permission to play in the playoff games. The player on OUR team that clearly started it all, was NOT DQ'd, but a team member who is clearly ON THE SIDE LINE, IS DQ'd. ??? Another member that was trying to get his teammates to the side, did NOT throw a punch, is DQ'd. The part that is so wrong about all this, is that the SSAC is saying that the refs can not use video to make a decision. They have to go by complete memory. Well, guess what? THAT ain't working so well!! Here's the video if you want to see...or if you missed it on CNN! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n6qLFymRIcA Anyway, Hurricane, my team is in the white. SC is the black. One of the SSAC rules is that if any team members or coaches enter the field they are ejected from the game. WHY the SSAC just didn't use that ruling, I don't know. SC cleared it's bench. Hurricane's coaches kept their kids on the bench.....like it should be. ANYWAY, I can't believe this has made it to the national news. Maybe I'll be able to keep up with it as I travel this weekend! LOL

I am going to run the vacuum, pack some clothes, get a shower and head up the road.

May you all be blessed with family and friends, good food and good times this Thanksgiving weekend! :love:

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!
My son has been off this whole week from school. I just took off today through Friday.

We still have high school football playoffs as well. We are in Texas also but my son's school is in Division II 5A. Texas is so huge, they have to divide 5A into 2 divisions otherwise we would be playing after Christmas:eek:

It's been a fun run so far so hopefully they will win on Saturday.

I really have enjoyed looking at the newer photos of the Dream.
Does anyone know anyone going on an earlier cruise than us? It would be great to get first hand knowledge before we cruise:)

Happy Thanksgiving Rachel, Tammy and everyone else!! Are y'all having rice dressing? Fried turkey? We aren't this year because we are going over to our neighbor's house, but it will all be good nonetheless.

:cheer2::cheer2:Geaux Saints, Geaux!!!:cheer2::cheer2:

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone! I am, sadly, wide-awake (and enjoying a glass of red wine) because I took a nap today- happens to me every time! If I take a nap I can never sleep at night. To make matters worse, I got a part-time holiday job at Gap and have to be at work at 7AM tomorrow! :eek: Oh, well. Maybe the wine will help! I hope everyone had a great day today and remember, we are down to less than 200 days!!!:banana:

How about Dem Saints?!:yay: For a while there, I didn't think they would pull it off, but they did!!!:yay::yay:

No, Paige, we didn't have rice dressing or fried turkey. Just regular turkey (which was delicous) and some cornbread dressing. But my BIL did make oyster dressing, even though I don't eat oysters, but everyone else said it was good. And, of course, we had all sorts of other things to eat too. Had a really nice time.

:yay:You are right--we are down to 198 days!!!:woohoo::woohoo:

GOOD MORNING FELLOW CRUISERS!! :banana:

Sounds like everyone had a nice Thanksgiving! We are thankful to be home! That was a crazy few days on the road. I'm not sure I could be a truck driver, spending hours on end on the road. All in all, it wasn't tooooo bad! It was great to see all of my family and all of his family. What is Rice Dressing? My family makes sausage dressing, steve's mom's is sort of a plain dressing. (blah) LOL I need to make some now that I am home. I have no leftovers!

we've decided we are going to rent 2, yes 2, cabanas on Castaway Cay the first day we are there. Mostly for his parents. They are older and not ones for sitting in the sun long, plus she doesn't walk far distances, so with the golf cart at our disposal to take her to Cookies, the bathroom, shopping, and the tram stop, plus having all the floats, snokels, bikes, etc for the kids, it will be perfect. I have done a lot of reading on them, and with our group of 12, we have no choice but to rent 2 of them, so we will pay for one and his brother the other. I am kind of getting excited about it!! I am trying to look at all we get with it and not just all that we have to pay! This will definitely be a "Once in a lifetime" event, so I am going to soak it up! LOL

I need to call and make hotel reservations for the night before the cruise. I think we are going with the Country Inns and Suites. Also need to call Universal and see if I can get a room at the Hard Rock for Friday night and call Disney and see if we can get Pop. I did look a few weeks ago, and I was thinking that one of the moderates was really close to the same price as Pop? Plus that would be queen beds and a fridge, right? Might have to look at that again!

Well, this is house is a wreck! Dump and run for a few days and it's time to get back on the ball!

Enjoy the leftovers!!!!

How funny! We are at CI&S the night before the cruise and have reservations at Hard Rock for Friday night! We will get to see each other before, during, and after the cruise! :rotfl:

Hello everyone. Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!!

We thought briefly about a cabana but decided against it for right now. My boys (21 and 18) don't stay put long enough to really enjoy it. They will probably be in the water the whole time. It does sound nice though with all the amenitiies it comes with.

Well, football season continues. Our team won again today so it's on to the regional finals (state quarterfinals) next week. It's alot of fun and something to keep us busy while we count down to the cruise;)

I hope everyone has a good week! I'm so excited we have someone going on an earlier cruise. Can't wait for firsthand info:yay:
