Disney Dream - June 12, 2011

Crystal-

You can add my husband and I to the celebrations. We will be celebrating our 2 year anniversary on June 14.

We actually aren't going on this cruise for that purpose but I think 2 long years of marriage is worth celebrating. LOL:rotfl::rotfl2:

Thanks!

Hope everyone has a great weekend. I am going shopping for our Florida trip!:cool2:

Even though the boys' birthdays are closer to the cruise date (they were all June babies) -- we booked the cruise as a celebration for my 40th party:birthday the following month.

No actual celebrations during the cruise but it is just a few weeks after our son's 9th birthday and our 14th wedding anniversary.

I would have to vote for a Star Wars C2D2 cruise or else my husband and son would never forgive me. You have not met bigger Star Wars fans in your entire life. :worship:

Loved your ticker! Thanks! I clicked on it and got a new one for me.
I hadn't been to that site before.

Thanks for the countdown link. I made me one too. The school calendar for next year is tenative but it is out and they are shortening Christmas vacation so we can get out of school earlier which means that we will be able to spend a week at WDW before our cruise. This is our ultimate Disney "Dream" vacation. We will be able to go to SW Weekends, spend some time at the main parks, water parks, etc. to wear ourselves out before relaxing for 2 days at CC on the ship.

We are going to try to bring my 8 year old niece to WDW with us for the first week. She has never been and my sister and husband won't take her even though she is dying to go so we are going to just go ahead and bring her with us. I can't wait too see her excitement and my kids are extra excited knowing they will get to share the WDW they love with her. Unfortunately I can't afford to bring her on this cruise with us as well since we would have to get a much more expensive stateroom (or an extra stateroom). I am really hoping that does not become an issue. I am already feeling pretty guilty about it.

Congrats on your Dream vacation! You will have a wonderful time at Star Wars Weekend! I'm hoping we'll be able to add a day or so too. Be sure your niece does the Jedi Training Academy. DD did it last year and got to "fight" Darth Maul. They gave all the kids certificates and electric toothtunes toothbrushes that play the star wars theme music. We have some great pics! Have fun!

We did Star Wars weekends for the 2nd time (once pre-kids) this past June. It was the first for our son. He liked SW a lot going into the weekend but after SWW his super fandom was sealed. He was even selected to be one of the Jedi kids in the SWW parade. It was such a magical moment for him that he will never forget. He even got to keep the lightsaber they gave him as a special souvenier.

I think that what you are doing for your niece is absolutely amazing! She is going to have such a great time! :goodvibes

All right, I think that I got everybody's celebrations added. As always, if I missed something, please PM me.

I hope everybody is having a great weekend. Yesterday, we went to a pizzaria that was featured on the TV show Man v. Food. They sell pizza slices that are served on pizza trays instead of plates - - the slices are huge! The slices were good but none of us could finish them, so we'll be having leftovers for lunch today. :rotfl: We also went to see the new Alice in Wonderland movie...which was good but not as good as I was hoping. Still, the 3D effects were pretty darn cool even if the storyline was a bit of a bummer. :thumbsup2

Pizza sounds good Crystal. I kind of wish I had some I could reheat right now. :)

We almost went to see Alice last night but I am worried about how my 5 year old would take it. She gets scared pretty easily and I was afraid parts of it might be too much for her. My DH and son may go see it today and DD and I may just have to wait for it to come out on video where she can leave the room if she gets scared.

Hello Fellow Cruisers!!

Still more drama with our ressies, but I "think" we have it figured out now! I called last night to find out how much it would be to add our inlaws to each room. (Was adding them to the 6A more expensive then the 11A..the answer was yes) BUT when she tried to add them BOTH to one room, it said that the the floor was at capacity. <sigh> She even called over her supervisor who said that even though we have beds available in both rooms, that the fire code only allows for so many guests PER FLOOR. Ok......so she starts looking at Cat 5D and higher, which means more money, not really what we want to do. So, I ask her, just out of curiousity, can she add ONE person to EACH room? She tries that, and lo and behold, IT WORKS! Why we couldn't add 2 to one room instead of one to each is beyond me, and like I've heard before, she said to just tell the room host/ess what our sleep configuration will be and they will make up the beds in that way. I guess we might have been able to put us 4 in one room and my 2 inlaws in the other on the ressie, but then we would have lost the 10% discount, 1/2 off deposit and $100 credit. In the end, it worked out!! I told her that pixie dust is flying alllllll over these ressies!!!! LOL I need to call my BIL today and tell him that we are on floor 8 now. She checked and he can move up to floor 8 for a total of $60. I would do it, but I'll let him decide. We'll also be celebrating Brendie's birthday on the first night and my Inlaws anniversary on the 4th night.....if the Dream follows the same schedule as the current 5 night.

The boys and I are going to see Alice today. I have heard mixed reviews on it.
I hope it doesn't disappoint!

Crystal, thanks for all you do in keeping all the info straight!!!

Time to get moving!

I went to see it Saturday and liked it. I didn't see it in 3D but I don't think it would have added anything to movie. I really like the Red Queen. I thought Helen Bonham Carter did a great job. I thought Johnny Depp did well as always, but I did see a hint of Captain Jack Sparrow come out.

I couldn't help but think of Professor Snape from Harry Potter whenever the blue caterpillar spoke. And about halfway thru the movie I recognized that the Knave was George McFly from Back to the Future.

I agree that Captain Jack made a few cameo appearances! I didn't recognize the voice of the caterpillar, but I am not a Harry Potter buff. I also didn't recognize the Knave as McFly! Sheesh! I also read on another thread that the caterpillar blew a Hidden Mickey smoke ring AND when the white rabbit throws the food in the kitchen, a Hidden Mickey is splattered on the wall. <sigh> I wish I had paid better attention! I guess I'll have to watch it again! All in all, I liked the movie, even though I am not a fan of Tim Burton. I thought it was pretty "dark", but that is Burton at his best I suppose!

The sun is shining brightly! I was standing in the sun, just letting it warm my face. I LOVE IT! It just feels good! We've had too many days of clouds and snow. I even let Connor wear shorts to school today. He wore shorts through October, maybe even into November. He only wears jeans if I make him. 3 months is enough for him. I doubt I'll be able to get him back into jeans now!

Speaking of which, have a few loads to finish then the evening shuffle begins....track, band, dinner, lifting....

Have a great day! :sunny:

We just saw it. It was good. Not awesome, but good.
Very dark. But that's Tim Burton. Also has to have Helena Bonham Carter
in it cause it's his wife. She was good but TOO over the top.
Enough with the "Off with their heads!" It was said way too many times.
She was getting annoying.

And that dance Johnny did at the end:rolleyes:Very queer and just didn't quite fit into the movie..

But we still enjoyed it.

Gee with I'd have known about that and could have looked out for it

Look for the ship named the "Wonder" at the end! ;)

I thought the dance was bizarre too. A couple eeewwww moments in the movie, but DD7 really enjoyed it.
