Disney Dream - June 12, 2011

Hello Fellow Cruisers!!

Still more drama with our ressies, but I "think" we have it figured out now!

Oh, Hon, I'm so glad that things got all worked out. It sounds like a lot of frustration on your end but at least you caught it early enough so that you could get it fixed. YIKES about the floor already being at capacity...guess we are going to have a super full ship.

I couldn't help but think of Professor Snape from Harry Potter whenever the blue caterpillar spoke.

Yeah, it took me a minute to figure out where I knew that voice from too, but what a perfect choice for the caterpillar. :thumbsup2

Hello Fellow Cruisers!!!

Taking our thread back to page one!

Crystal, I REALLY hope that's all she wrote on these ressies! I am not a drama person, so having this much "drama" over these ressies is killer for me!

I wish I would have known about the Hidden Mickeys and such before we saw Alice. But like I said, I guess we'll have to watch it again! The dance was obviously computer animated and I too found it to be very odd..but I guess the Mad Hatter is an odd person. It just didn't fit. I found his eyes to be creepy too..but I was later told that they were computer animated too.

The weather has been great the last few days with highs hovering around 70! Tonight the rains have come...and track practice was SOGGY! Suppose to get cold over the weekend and (dare I say it outloud) snow on Monday and Tuesday! It won't stick this time of year, but STILL...enough already! LOL

Have a great night!

Howdy all. I did not go back and ready all 27 pages, but thought I would join in the fun. Crusing will be me, Scott, DW, Wendy, DD, Ashley (11), DS Connor(6) and DS Nathan (6). Yes, twins. Cabin 6172. It will be either #12 or #13 depending on if we can work one in yet this year. Can't wait to see the Dream in person. Since we are verterans and haved cruised when the kids were infants on up, feel free to ask any questions you might have.

We also have twin boys. Ours will be 9 (about to turn 10) by the time we cruise. Looks like our oldest will be around the same age as yours, too -- we have another boy who will be 11 (but about to turn 12) when we cruise.

Good Morning Fellow Cruisers!!!

How about those Mountaineers??!!?? Big East Champs!!!!

the rains have come and are here to stay for a few more days. Not really a good thing as the snow melt in the mountains is causing lowland flooding. We lost two people yesterday, one a volunteer fire fighter. So sad.

One of the families in our community lost their home to a fire on Friday. Everything was destroyed. He is a local Doctor, she a SAHM, the older daughter a college student and the son is in Colton's grade. Very thankful that everyone got out safely, but so sad everything is gone. It's my biggest fear and worst nightmare. We will all continue to rally around them and get them the things they need.

On a positive note, the rains have sort of done a good job of cleaning away the winter grime and cobwebs! The air is a bit fresher, the grass a bit greener. Soon we'll be able to clean up the patio furniture and start enjoying the deck a lot more!

I read in the paper this morning that Disney has given away it's 1 millionth Give A Day, Get A Day tickets...so that campaign is over! I think it's amazing that in just 10 weeks, a million people gave of their time and energy to help others! Just awesome!

I've read my paper, clipped my coupons and now I need to get moving. Got the downstairs carpets scrubbed yesterday. The dogs have just about destroyed them. Today I just need to get bathrooms wiped down and some laundry done. For a sub, I am working about 35 hours this week. More then I care to, but the check will be nice. I'm going to tell her tomorrow that I am not working Spring Break and my last day will be May 28. I'll take the summer off and start again in the fall.

I hope everyone is enjoying the weekend!

We booked with the special Disney Visa kids-free deal so we are heading out to WDW for a 4 night stay at Pop Century in May. The kids do not know yet and we are hoping to keep it a secret. In addition to the trip it will also be the first time we have flown with my DD and only the second for my DS but he does not remember since he was only 1. They both have really been asking to fly "somewhere" for a long time so it should be an exciting trip. Especially if we can manage to keep it a secret. :)

WOW!! How awesome! Have a great time! We love Pop Century, such a cool resort!

Hi everyone. Long time no check in. We finished up our Disney's Give a Day, Get a Day and will be using our tickets soon. We are only going for 2 days because we are sort of just squeezing in Magic Kingdom while we have to be in Florida for a wedding. I haven't been to Disney in 10 years, and we have never been with our kids, so I'm super excited. Paige asks me every day how much longer. :)

Anyway, we signed up for Story Time From the Front Lines from the Disney Program. We had to collect 20 new or gently used books and then make thank you cards for children of soldiers. We boxed up all the stuff and sent it to a site where the items would be distributed. The soldiers would take the books and while being recorded on DVD, would read the stories into the camera. Then the DVD and the book along with the cards we made would be sent to their children. We ended up collecting 28 books from ourselves and my generous friends.

I shipped off the box and that was that. Never did I expect to receive the most amazing personalized thank you cards written and signed personally from so many soldiers. I was moved to tears as I read what they said about our seemingly little project. This was definitely a great program, and I hope Disney has found that it has helped as well.

Well, tons of rain in Pennsylvania, but it has melted all the snow. So I'm definitely not heart broken!!! Have a great day.

Welcome to our group. I will get you guys added to our first page. :goodvibes

so we are heading out to WDW for a 4 night stay at Pop Century in May.

That's so cool - - we went for a last minute trip last March and stayed at the Pop and DD loved it! Good luck to you in keeping it a secret...I would never be able to do it. :rotfl2:

so I'm super excited. Paige asks me every day how much longer. :)

I'm sure that they are both beside themselves with excitement. They are still young enough that the entire trip is just going to be pure magic!

We just received our vouchers from our Give a Day. Taylor and I made 2 blankets for Project Linus. They were fun to do and we hope that it will brighten some child's day. Taylor is doing a week of residential Career Camp at Sea World this summer. I just made reservations to go to the Hoop Dee Doo before camp starts and then after camp we will spend 2 nights at WDW. It will be short, but that is because we plan to go back for a whole week in September. Wish we could go during spring break in 3 weeks, but we will be spending spring break up north in the Quad Cities visiting relatives. That is the only place Taylor has ever gone for Spring Break and often it snows. All my friends head south and laugh at us:confused3

Another weekend closer to cruise time. Hope everyone got their clocks set forward.
My 1st grader finished his last basketball game for the season this weekend. He had fun for his first year.
Have a great week!

We too completed our volunteer service for the give a day, get a day program. We also made two tie blankets.

Crystal - I apparently don't know how to add. I may need some tutoring from all our math teachers that are going to be on the ship. Travis and I will be celebrating our 3 year wedding anniversary, not two. Sorry!!

Well as my sister mentioned we will be going to Disney in 5 days!!! :yay: I can't even begin to say how excited I am to see her and the kids.

My husband and I started packing last night. We fought over how many pairs of sandels I can fit in the luggage. (He packs the suitcase because he can get more in it.) Well I am going to have to sneak my brown pair of flip flops in. He just doesn't get it. :headache: :rotfl:

Well I hope everyone has a great week. And I will catch up when we get back. And hopefully figure out how to post some pics of Ella's first vacation!! :woohoo:

My DSis and her family are leaving for WDW in 5 days too! I can't even begin to tell you how jealous I am of all of you spring break WDW trippers! Have fun! Use fastpass all you can - DSis has been checking the wait times on the iphone app and says its bad right now! You'll still have a great time! You'll be at WDW after all!!

Our next big vacation won't be until this cruise... but we are going to Wichita this weekend to visit family and taking a few days off - 6 day weekend! :cool1:

Everyone have a great spring break!!

Hi Everyone! Just booked on the June 12, 2011 Disney Dream Cruise!! It will be myself and my daughter (21) who will be graduating in May, 2011 from High School. She is a Special Education student and this is quite an accomplishment for her. So I decided we would celebrate with a cruise!! We previously cruised in October, 2007 on the Magic and loved it! We are both so excited. :cool1:

:rotfl2: - if you think they are hard to keep track of now, just wait until you get past the 10 year mark - LOL.

I can't even begin to tell you how jealous I am of all of you spring break WDW trippers!

Amen to that! This time last year I was at the World myself, and I have to wait all the way until December to go back. *Sob* :guilty:

What an awesome milestone - - congratulations to your DD! :yay: I will get you guys added to the first page. :goodvibes

Have you guys seen how many DISers and family will be on this cruise!?! I did a rough estimate and there's over 175 people on the first page list! Wow! How awesome is that?!?! :yay: :grouphug: :cool1:

I better ad a wide angled lens to the list! LOL That's a LOT of people! Of course, we could take it on the stairs in the atrium. Might be a nice photo op there. The last two group photos we had were on Secret Deck 7...the Dream doesn't have a Secret Deck 7.

Hi,all. I decided it was time to get in on the fun. We're booked for this cruise and are so excited. My DH and I did DCL for our honeymoon and have been wanting to go back since. It will be myself (Coree), DH (Vic), and DD (Anna, who will be almost 6 when we sail). Can't wait! Oh, we'll be in cabin 2546. :yay:
