Disney Dream - June 12, 2011

This will be our 5th Disney Cruise. Did the 12 night Northern Capitals w/ Estonia last June, 7 night Western in Aug 2009 and a few weekend Wonders.

DD asked Santa for the Dream cruise Christmas 2009-that way it would be "free"..Santa delivered!

There are three of us DH , DD (10) and me. We live in the DFW area. DD would love to meet some friends to hang with.

Been under the weather the last couple of days so I haven't spent too much time on the computer. So much info has come out about the Dream that I feel behind now, LOL.

I'm waffling on Palo right now. I'd love for DH & I to have a date night but I don't want to miss any of the new restaurants. Guess if we don't do Palo this time we'll just have to take another cruise so we can do Palo then

Greetings from another DFW family! We're in Bedford.

This can be such a funny age to see if boys and girls want to hang out together -- but I have twin boys in 4th grade. (They will turn 10 just after the cruise.) I also have another boy -- he will turn 12 a few days after the cruise.

Good to hear from you. Just want you to know that you are still in my prayers for a complete recovery. Hope you are feeling well during your treatment. Just continue to think of all the relaxing you will be able to do on the cruise.

Hope everyone is having a good week! Just an update on the FE. We have 13 families signed up so far! The feedback I have gotten so far is to have "go with the flow" giving (every family participating gives at least 1 gift to each family, but you can do more and you set your own budget) I will split the group when we reach 21 familes so that there will be a minimum of 10 families and a maximum of 20 families per each FE. I will try to do it by section or decks so that your delivery won't take too much away from you Dream time. If you are a family who would like to be in a larger FE I could always have you on 2 FE's which would then let you have from 30 to 40 families. You just need to let me know. I am very flexible and looking forward to finally participating in a FE (our other 3 cruises didn't do it ) So...if you haven't signed up for the FE and want to participate, PM me with the info on page 1.

My son will have just turned 9 right before this cruise. Maybe your 8 year old will get along with him. Does you son love Pokemon?

This will be our 4th Disney cruise. Thinking about booking onboard for our 5th. I have been looking at the Fantasy for 2012 as our 5th but I am thinking it would need to be late 2012 and the fall/winter dates are not out yet.

We'll rebook onboard because of the discount. When we pick a date it's never set in stone. This cruise was one we booked for Halloween 2010, but decided to change it to the new ship.

Thanks for the good thoughts and prayers! I'm halfway through the strongest chemo infusions, with two more to go. I go every other week. Then I'll have two weeks off and then 12 weeks in a row of something not as bad. For now, I'm just trying to hang in there and live each day one at a time. This is much harder than I thought it would be but it could be much worse as I'm lucky to have a good prognosis.

Welcome. My DD Sydney is going to be 10 and is also hoping to meet some friends to hang out with. She had a great time last time. We had a DISers meet just after the life boat drill on the last cruise and she met someone she hung out with the rest of the time.

I really like the idea of smaller groups given the length of the cruise and the size of the ship. Then you aren't packing as much either. I've done it with 44 families and that was alot time running around the ship. It should be fun no matter what.

Unless we get super lucky with brunch, I think we are going to skip Palo's this time. It was good, but I don't want to miss anything new.

We are still working on touching up the cruise logo. Hopefully this weekend. Last weekend, my parent's and grandma came for a late Christmas celebration, so I didn't have time. DH is trying to change it a little to include more characters and a different name.

Well, our travel agent just got back from the pre inaugural and said this ship is awesome. I'm ready for this cruise to be here!!

I have to make it through tax season first. Long hours start February 7th. AHHHHHHH!

Looks like we are all in at this point. Just confirmed payment and final travel plans. Residence inn before and after. Got ticket requests into our congressman for kennedy space center so we got 4 of the 5. We'll pay for the 5th. Going to kennedy space center after we disembark the Dream. Then who knows probably heading home as we are trying save up already to book another while on this one. Fantasy 2012.

Is it june yet ? It can't get here soon enough.

Yup, this is my 5th as well.
Then I'll be GOLD!

But no plans for cruising for a long while.

BF wants to do other trips and I do agree, although I'll miss seeing some of my favorite cruising buddies

Have to expand our traveling horizons in the future, Europe is next on our list and it's not best done by cruising. Not enough time in the ports.

Here is attempt #2 at a logo. I still would like to add a border or a photo effect to soften the edges, but wanted to see what people thought before spending more time (I know the date needs to be fixed). I have other ideas, but haven't found great base photos yet.
