Disney Dream - June 12, 2011

Wasn't able to watch the Christening live, but I watched the replay of it. Gave me chills. I can't wait until June!!!!

I don't think I'll participate in the FE exchange (don't believe I'll have time beforehand), but I really do want to participate in the Dis meet. So whenever it is decided when and where, please let me know!

We probably won't be either. But will also do any meet ups including the ones in the wine and martini tastings!;)

I thought I remembered deck plans with rooms marked!:woohoo: I will be glad to get the info and keep the spreadsheet and then maybe ,DMMom, you and I could could get all the info mapped out and figure out how to split into groups if needed and hopefully provide the map for everyone to see/use. Once we get number of cabins, kids and adults participating we can determine if we want any limits/specifics laid out or just go with the flow.
I will start entering info into a spreadsheet as soon as I start receiving it. It would probably be best if you pm me. So if you want to participate in the FE please send me your family last name, adults first name and gender; kids name, age and gender; cabin number; and email address if you would like to keep in touch with others after the cruise (I could make roster with names and emails for everyone participating);any celebrations- please be specific; and Dis name.
This should be fun!

I will post this information on the first page so it won't get lost in the shuffle.

I've missed checking in with my DIS buds, but work has been a true nightmare. AND, what's even "better" is that I might be going to Las Vegas for a 3 week trial on February 1st, but I won't actually know until January 26th...how's that for notice?!?

I hope you guys are doing well and I'm so so looking forward to meeting everyone. I literally have not had any time to read any back posts so if I've missed adding you to the group, please just PM me and I will get it done. Hope everyone has a great rest of the week!! Hugs! :grouphug:

thanks for posting the Aqua Duck video! looks like a blast!!

my dh and I will defiantly be doing the martini tastings! he's already looking forward to it!
The kids are starting to talk about the food! All i've heard the last couple of day's is panini's and Steak! lol We really enjoyed watching the webcasts of the christening and i cannot wait to see all the pictures that will be posted soon!!:surfweb:

it's soo cold here today! a warm beach and blue sky is a happy thought when looking at the grey sky and feeling the wind chill of 21.. sigh
Stay warm everyone!!

Still undecided on the FE's. I know my kids loved it when we particpated in December 2006 but it was a really big group and I probably spent 2 hours trying to deliver everything on a sea day. It started to feel like a chore. I don't know if this is the plan but maybe if we were put into smaller groups grouped by deck or just grouped like 10 to a group and in the same general stateroom location I would be much more willing to participate. I am sure that is more work for the person coordinating but time is precious on a 5 night cruise.

Well another 5-6 inches of snow and no school today. June can't get here fast enough.

I went ahead a booked room at Hyatt MCO for night before. Since this is our first cruise we wanted to enjoy the cruise bus experience. Anyone else at the Hyatt MCO the night before.

Also, went ahead booked a room at Atlantis. Because we are a family of 5 we would need to 2 rooms at CI and with Atlantis we can fit 5 in a room since our youngest is 4. DS11 is really looking forward to leap of faith slide

Not much else to plan until feedback from first dream cruisers.

Stay warm

Mike

We'll be at the Hyatt the night before as well. So maybe we'll see you on the bus in the morning :)

I am trying to decide what to do with our show times (assuming we could get it changed). Right now we have 6 PM dinner and the 9 PM show. In the past we had early dinner/late show and the one thing I did not like was that my kids were done eating by 7, we would take them up to the club while we finished then DH and I had about an hour free before we picked the kids up from the club to go to the show. After the show they might want to go back to the club but more than likely at least one of them wanted to go to bed. That meant little time for us adults to enjoy some time to ourselves.

I was thinking of seeing if we could switch to the 5 PM show. Then we could see the show together, go to dinner and once the kids go to the club after dinner we would have (hopefully) several hours together just adult time without the kids and they would not be pulled in and out of the clubs. My only concern is having to get ready for dinner so early each day but I am thinking it might be worth it. Our excursion on Nassau night might make things tight but I think they do not do a big show that night anyway because it should be pirate night.

Anyone else have this situation?

I just found out this weekend (I asked our TA) that we have the 5pm show and the 6pm meal. We have 1 year old though, so we'll never get much time w/o her. I think the time works for us, because she might fall asleep if we had a late show. I think you having the early show would work well given what you've described, and if your excursions run into dinner maybe you can just eat at the buffet that night.

Rebecca,
We have the opposite problem! we have the 5pm show and the 830 dinner! That's too much time inbetween! I am not dressing for the show, and honestly, aside from Believe...the newest show, if we miss the show, I am not going to worry about it! I would love to see all of the shows, but I hate the thought of hurrying back or coming back early to shower and change to go to the show when I'll have plenty of time after, before we go to dinner. Also, it might be a good time for us to ride the Duck or hang at a "less crowded" pool. I do like your idea of the show and then right to dinner. I would have liked the 7pm show and the 830 dinner. We are a party of 12, so I don't think I could get that many seats changed! I hope you are able to make the switch!

we too, had another snow day on Friday! So the kids only went to school on Tues,Weds and Thurs of last week. They will go Mon and Tues this week, but there is the potential of another big storm to hit us Tuesday night! They are saying up to a foot of snow! That will throw us into a State of Emergancy and everything will shut down! Then someone else said there is potential for another big storm on the 29th? Sheesh. Just dump all the snow, all at once and let's get it over with! LOL

The boys have been watching YouTube videos of The Vibe and are getting excited about it! I don't think we'll see them much!

I hope this finds everyone happy and healthy!

Double Dippin' Disney Dreamer!

Okay, going to try and post another video, this is the "big reveal" from Christmas Morning. I love the fact that the girls thought it was a cruise but didn't see a "c" in the letters to unscramble, "Aww man there isn't a 'C'!" I love it!
