Disney Dream - June 12, 2011

We had some bad storms roll through last night. We knew it was pretty nasty but then we discovered parts of our roof in the back yard. Ugh! The professionals are obviously swamped so we will need to be our own amateur roofers to get it patched up until they can get to us in a few weeks - probably just about the time we are leaving for vacation. Great! :sad2:

So son has strep and now we have a damaged roof. These things come in threes who wants to guess what is next? :confused3

Oh, no!
Did he get to enjoy any part of his birthday, poor kiddo:hug:

Another busy week for me. I hope I find time to do some cruise prep this weekend so I don't get too stressed. Work is stressful enough.

Went to see Bon Jovi last night. It was such a fun concert. Then I got a call from school saying that Ethan sprained his ankle while on a class field trip (he decided to jump over 5 steps and twisted it when he landed: kids have to learn the hard way). So now we are waiting for the doctor to call back to confirm. I hope it heals quick or all that walking at WDW will be a little problematic.

Oh no! Here's hugs for him too:hug:

Hi everyone!! Another week down -- I can't believe our cruise is getting so close. We signed DD up for the competition cheerleading, which is going to consume our Monday and Thursday evenings, but she is so excited about it (and her little team of girls is soooo stinkin' cute). We also are still in the midst of our kitchen remodel, which is going to be delayed out through the end of July because of the cruise. However, if we get our cabinets before we leave, that should help. BUT, being without a kitchen sink and dishwasher for 3+ weeks is going to be quite interesting to say the least. However, I'm sure once the dust settles (literally) we will love our new kitchen. We are going to have a lot more space and it is going to be so nice to look at something other than white. Anyway, just thought I'd pop in to say hi. Can't wait to meet everyone in a couple weeks! Take care!! :grouphug:

Yay, for a new kitchen:cool1:

I can't wait to meet everyone too!:yay::woohoo::grouphug:

Now that my son is home from college, I have to start cooking dinner again every night..... UGGGG!:headache:

(and I can't eat my low calorie foods then either, I better watch my weight before the cruise:eek:)

Thanks Scouter - sorry you had to go cook. :upsidedow

DH was able to patch the roof with some replacement shingles - should hold us for a while and Nathan was feeling well enough to go camping. He and DH left this morning before 10 and while it is not the best weather (windy with a high of 55 - low in the 40s tonight) it sounds like they are having a good time. It is strange to be away from him on his birthday though.

20 days left to go for us. I have not made much progress on packing and organizing for the trip but I decided that was because the rest of my house was such a mess. We have been so busy lately that I was really behind on laundry, housework, etc.. Since the boys were gone DD and I spend a bunch of time cleaning and getting caught up today mixed in with some fun with just the two of us. It looks much better. I am not done yet but I am hoping that means I can focus a little bit on getting ready for this trip. I have to admit that while we are vets at WDW and DCL combining them together in this massive trip with so much going on is a bit overwhelming even for me. ;)

Rose, you're cracking me up! :lmao:

I think the three of us have now managed to try on all our clothes and have an idea of what we still need to buy. I'm hoping to get a start on shopping tomorrow. No docs here for us yet, but I'm sure they'll arrive from the TA soon. We did get out fish extender in the mail today though. Woo hoo! :cheer2:
