Disney Dream January 21-23 2011

It's so exciting for you guys. I know my daughter is very excited about going in the morning. I was looking at the picture on the Magic last week of her coming into port for the first time and everyone waving on Jetty park. It is so cool to think that you guys will be hanging on the Dream for a long time. Got me all choked up while I was looking at the picture.

That's an awesome thread, Amanda! Also, great shots!
I actually considered driving out there to see her come in, but had to drop off the kids @ school by 8am... so, instead they saw her come in while driving to school on my phone! I can't believe how good technology is to us. I'm still jealous that you were able to be there and feel that electricity flow through your body as you hear the horn of the Dream!

Thanks for the pictures! It must have been so much fun to be there this morning.

Yes, it was amazing! I got me really excited knowing that I'll be sailing in 16 days away on her along with everyone else!! I can't wait and know that it's going to be a special cruise for all of us!:goodvibes

Can I get an updated list on who is participating in the Fish Extender?

Thanks!!

thanks fot the updates throughout the day Amanda :worship:

You and everyone els who have been posting are just wetting my appetite for our upcoming cruise.

Won't be too much longer now :banana::banana:

I wasn't planning on the FE thing....but this got me to thinking.

How many Boys and Girls Club families are going to be on the ship?

If we somehow got a cheap FE extender for each of these families, I would be more than happy to participate in that.....

Any ideas? pirate:

The FE bags for the Boys and Girls Club families are almost done. I am trying to get an idea of how many people are interested in participating. For those of you who joined the board later, we have 45 kids and 24 parents/chaperons. We can meet in our cabin (7016) at 3pm to stuff the bags and then take them to GS to give to the families. Shouldn't take more than a 1/2 hour. Please let me know if you are interested so we will know who to expect that day. Remember it doesn't have to be expensive, but it would be great to have as many people to participate as we can.

We will be by at 3:00 to drop off some goodies. I have magnets that I made a few pirate bandanas and some goodies from DCL leftover from hosting the home party last year :3dglasses

I have put together 45 small bags with a couple pieces of candy, a Disney pencil, pen, and a small notebook in a small cellophane bag to put in each of your bags. It says on our confirmation letter that we sail-away at 3:30. Would it be alright if I come by at 2:45 to help you pack the bags? I hate to miss sail-away? I don't remember do we have lifejacket drill before we sailaway or before.

For all the ones at Jetty Park this morning I'm sure they'll agree it was amazing. I wish each of you could have been there. I got on the bus at 3:45 a.m. at Downtown Disney and we were at Jetty Park at 5 a.m. They had an area cleared for all the visitors - lots of RVs and cars already there.
There were 25 buses with 1200 cast members. Many had gotten off late last night and many were going straight to work when we got back to Downtown Disney but that didn't seem to bother anyone. Everyone was so excited to be there to see this beautiful ship come down the channel. It is amazing to me that Disney has not only built such a strong following with Disboarders but that they have such a strong loyalty from their cast members. There was a lot of pixie dust being spread around on that rocky channel this morning. The fireworks were wonderful, the jet boats with their lighted kites were so beautiful, and you could here everyone on the ship and everyone on land cheering the ship on. It was SPECIAL. I'm proud to work for Disney and be a 6 year castmember.

It was so dark - I only got 1 picture. I'm so glad that Amanda posted all the pictures for you to check out.

2:30-2:45 would be fine. The lifejacket drill is before the sailaway. I just checked my email confirmation and mine said to board between 12-3:30. Did you get another confirmation other than the email from Event Services?
We plan to be on the boat as soon as we can, so if they are adjusting the sailaway time, we can adjust the FE get together. We can confirm the time once we get our docs. I think this is just one of the many things we will be playing by ear. :rolleyes1

You are right. Sorry about that - our confirmation message said 12 to 3:30 to board. Yes, we can just play it by ear as time gets closer. I'm so hyped up. I don't want to miss anything.

I still never got an email confirmation.....I guess at this point I can wait until our docs (hopefully with luggage tags) arrive...should be soon!!!

Here's the latest FE list. Let me know if you'd like to participate and I'll add you to the list. :earboy2:

Can you update this chart? You did an excellent job building this chart but I noticed some people who are on the list are not included in this chart. I like knowing where the rooms are. Thanks for putting this together. Only 15 more days.

:cool1:

MereDisney - Thanks! The chart looks great. My grandson is 8. His name is Aiden and my DH is Carl. If the chart is complete - I have 8 rooms to make gifts for - correct? Only 2 other kids a 5 and 8 year old - correct? Aiden and I hit Michaels today to buy things for our gifts. He and I are going to work on FE gifts tonight - we are excited!:cool1::cool1: Do you know if the other kids are girls or boys? Again thanks!
