Disney Dream, Jan 15th 2012

Well, I don't think my group will be doing FE since we're 6 adults. I am also extremely un-crafty and wouldn't even know how to go about making in the first place. :goodvibes

I would certainly be interested in a meet though! Lounge/bar sounded good to me! :thumbsup2

Private Shuttle service from Dream the morning we return to Riverside....... What is the earliest time I can meet the shuttle?? (I would not mind breakfast on MainStreet USA).

As a side note, my birthday is Christmas EVE. When I blow out my candels I am pretty sure I will be wishing for great weather on our cruise. So we should all be good to go!!

I would definitely think you could be off the ship early to get to MK to eat breakfast there. You probably won't make it for rope drop but you could get there just after their opening at 9am that day (19th). Once the ship clears customs they allow people to disembark. I would figure that you could be on your way by 8am. That's a good round about time to figure to be ready by as it's usually around there when they allow people to get off the ship. Hey, you never know if you don't hit traffic you might get there by opening. Good things may happen.

Sooo... are we doing kids/dogs only with the option for parents? That way if people have room in there luggage (haha). We can do it and if not... the kids have fun.

Also, quick question. On the Wonder it was really easy to do a quick load of laundry. I am thinking it would make packing easier if i just assume I can do two loads before heading to WDW after cruise.......are the laundry rooms easy to get to on the Dream? Anyone go on a cruise before in Jan that can talk about the weather and packing?

I'm going to keep my participation to "just kids" but feel free to include adults in or in addition to the list above for those who want to include/be included. I'm already worried about getting it together for the kids and don't want to add 20 more worries to my :laundy: list.

PS I logged in to check my reservation and got my flight times. Ugh, looks like we're spending a night at DTW pre-flight.

PPS Does anyone have a specific suggestion for the meet place? I was thinking a "family" spot near an "adult spot" so that those without kiddies (and those that have a plan for ditching them!) can continue the meet, if they so choose, without kids.

Hello! I'm so stoked that I can venture over here, because after 5 years of wishing, my family is finally going on a Disney cruise! It was spur-of-the-moment earlier today when we found a great price on this sailing and we bit the bullet to make the commitment! Got a VGT, so I'm excited to find out where we'll be on the ship. I'm trying not to think about how it's only 4 days (we've only done 7 night cruises on 2 other lines) but for our current situation it'll be a great small vacation.

It's myself and my parents ... first cruise without other family coming along, too. We're big kids at heart and I've been dying to go on DCL since I joined the DIS. I'm so excited, I have not been able to stop shaking :rotfl:

If you see me, I'll be the crazy almost 29 year-old bouncing in awe all over the place

Congrats and I think you have every reason to be excited. I thought I never would like cruising and then on a spur of the moment we also tried DCL. This was our first cruise so obviously we had no comparison but we were blown away. We have been on both classic ships and this will be our first on the Dream. It will be like a new experience. I don't hope you will have a good time, I know it.

Only 42 days left can't wait. Just wanted to post since we are not organized enough at this point won't do the FE/gift exchange. This was kind of last minute for us. We would like to meet up and meet new people though.

I was wondering if anyone had called to see what the movies for this cruise were going to be? This is literally our first real vacation in years so we are looking forward to some relaxing as well.

Three weeks until we leave Australia! because we'll be away for 6 weeks, and will have a base in Orlando (hiring a house for a month) I'm hoping we can pack light and spend big in the outlet malls in Orlando...:laundry: Any tips?

Add 2 more to this cruise. me and hubby just changed our feb 16th to this one. Got a great VGT rate so couldn't say no.
Hope this next month + goes by FAST!!!

I tend to avoid the outlet malls here, though I have friends who go once and a while during the off season and sometimes find deals. You may be better off actually venturing into the suburbs to find sales. The Florida Mall and the Milenia Mall are what we call "tourist" malls because they feature more upscale stores and don't have as many good sales. If you don't mind a little bit of a drive from the theme park areas, try Waterford Lakes or the Altamonte Mall. Those are my "haunts", lol, and you should find the prices cheaper than the stores/malls closer to the tourist areas.

As far as a DIS meet, on many of our prior cruises we have had a meet in the Promanade lounge area (usually Deck 3) at around 3:30 - just prior to the life boat drill that way it lasts only 1/2 hour and you still get to meet everyone.

Phil

Thanks for the meet tip.

Don't forget to opt in by leaving your information here and adding your stateroom number or opt out by editing the list or replying to this message that you will not be participating.
So that everyone will have time to collect the FE stuffers, we should probably cut this off soon...12/26?
Also, is everyone OK with keeping each "stuff" to $5 or so? I know my DD gets excited over any "stuff" with no regard for its cost. (That has its good and bad side...)

On our last cruise one of the 'youngsters' said that on a Disney cruise you drop the first number of your age-then you can be as young as you want! Enjoy!

Sorry, we will not be doing the fish extender. Thank you for organizing it.

I like that philosophy! :thumbsup2

I wish I could participate in the Fish Exchange, but I can't really spare much extra change. I can, however, make you guys privy to some of the DISigns I'm making for my door. If you like them, feel free to ask and I'll personalize them for you.
