Got my letter as well....but it is incorrect I believe. Last week I asked my TA to find out about our show time and found out we were listed for main dining which we never do.....she changed us to late dining and told us we had the 7pm show...but my letter still shows main dining with 7pm show.....I am sure they sent the letter before my TA called.

I am late dining with the 7pm showtime as well.

Don't know how firm they will be about this but was told by a CM that you are required to swipe your KTTW card at your appointed show time...if you want to attend a show other than the one you are assigned, there will be a stand by area in the event that there are seats available...and then it's first come first serve I guess:confused3

Next will be fast passes for the thearter stand by line.... :lmao:

Hello everyone.. I know I've been MIA... my netbook died and can't get online upstairs when the GB's are here... :sad2:
Lots of drama :scared1: going on!
Got our letter.. we are 8:30 dining with 7pm show assignment. Kind of screws things up if they're that immobile about it... what happens if you have Palo? :confused3
Hope DCL is monitoring some of this stuff and makes adjustments. :wizard:

Right now I don' t care if I just vegetate in a lounge chair for the 4 days.. I'm going thru major DCL withdrawel.... I NEED A CRUISE! :crazy2:
I'm more in the planning mode for DL/Repo/AK than I am for this cruise. All I want to do is check out the ship. ;)

Lynn/Scott: I'll be at the BBQ as soon as I pick Georgie and Joe up at the airport!:car: Let me know what I can bring!
Elaine: I'll join ya'll for PJ Breakfast...

Ok I think I'm caught up now... Welcome to all the newbies joining us...

:rotfl2: I called DCL too. We got our letter 6:00 dinner and 9:00 show. I explained that I had Palo reservations for my birthday at 8:30 and would like to see an earlier show just for that night...

You guessed it... if I want to change my show time to 5:00 for the WHOLE cruise I can. Otherwise I must sit at my show. Then she asked me why I didn't try to change my Palo reservation. :rotfl2: I told her... you can't be serious... but she was! :rotfl2:

I asked to speak to a manager just to discuss things and express my disappointment that we weren't provided the guidelines prior to the opening of the booking window. It's not as though they didn't know the ship was going to set sail on January 26th. Oh... another alternative... I can go to guest services when I board the ship (along with all 4,000 other guests) and make a request, but there will be no guarantee it will be honored.

I would not want to be the CM working at the shows telling folks who arrive late for their scheduled show that their seats were given away to stand by cruisers! :rotfl2::surfweb:

Whatever happened to the carefree days of DCL cruising...

You know, I was thinking about the cruise and it not being the first actual sailing...and I think that you will be glad you are doing this one and not the first few.

I've been on a TA & Christening cruise before, and it was quite crazy...I then went on the "first" sailing right after, and it was smoother, and more fun! On the cruises prior to the Maiden, not everything will be fully functioning...in fact, I was told that there is a good possibility that some things won't be open. And just think of the PARTY on the Maiden, with all of the excited guests!

If I were you, I would look at it as the Maiden being the first REAL voyage of the Disney Dream...the first time the new, gorgeous ship will be full of devoted Disney guests that planned and dreamed for months if not years about being on the first voyage. To me, this is the first voyage...the others are testing it out...like test driving a car, but the guests on the first voyage are the "owners":)

I'm not saying things won't still be a little crazy or disorganized, because there is a good chance of that...but Disney does things better in general so I'm guessing they'll do this well too.

This is from Wikipedia

"The maiden voyage of a ship, aircraft or other craft is the first journey made by the craft after shakedown."

So, if you look at it this way, the maiden voyage is the first time the ship leaves the harbor after the shakedown cruises.

Now, I personally consider any cruise prior to ours as a "shakedown cruise" since the general public could not go on the DCL webpage and book them.

So, using that logic, our cruise is the maiden voyage.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it!

Ken

Thank you for putting this in perspective...you are both so right that we want all the "bugs" worked out before our cruise....I am truly getting excited about being on the "maiden" voyage...

No letter in Canada for us....but I checked online and it says we have second seating for dinner and a 5 pm show....I'd prefer a later show like 7 pm....hopefully DCL will accomodate us if we want to switch, especially if we are dining with people...it is usually nice to attend the show together and then head to dinner...

Tried to get info on the shows to help manage dinner ressies... Right now the only show which is firm is the new Villians show. The other shows are TBD. There is no info yet on which day Villians will be performed.

woo hoo...just got off the phone with DCL...was able to change our show time from 5 pm to 7 pm....yippee!!!!

Good Morning All.

Got our letter yesterday and we are 8:30 dining with 7:00 show.

Mr Scott, we will be at the BBQ.
We will be at OKW as well. Maybe we will be neighbors again.

Be on the lookout....DCL is announcing 2012 itineraries, including the Disney Fantasy, to travel agents this Monday!

DCL has a scuba excursion in Nassau, but it is listed as two 30-minute dives, which is significantly shorter than Stuart Cove's standard two-tank boat dive.

Is anyone interested in a "arrange it ourselves" dive in Nassau? If you are, are you also interested in an afternoon dive? (Total three tanks.)

I dove with Stuart Cove's a couple of years ago but am open to other operators. (Char didn't like SC's shark dive. We liked the Small Hope Bay Shark dive, but the Dream isn't docking in Andros.)

BTW - We might also be interested in diving in FL before the cruise. We arrive late Friday night (Jan 21) so Saturday is iffy, but the cruise doesn't leave until Wednesday. However, we don't have any local knowledge/experience.

Charlene and Andy

WE would be interested in what you find out re Nassau Diving DD would like to do one but doesnt want to go on her own and none of the rest of us have dive certificates. The SC one says only divers can go no spectators

It was posted on the main board that someone was at a UK cruise show today and DCL had a desk set up....DCL rep said they would only be announcing the January to April itineraries for 2012 on Monday and the rest would follow at a later time....did not mention if it was for all the ships or just the Fantasy.

I am so excited we got Remy reservations and Palo Dinner reservations for the 2nd part of our B2B cruise!

Congrats to everyone who got their show times!!!

We finally were able to get our February cruise straightened out! Thank goodness.

Just back from The Uk cruise show at Birmingham.. Disney were there, which I think is a first for them, showed picture os the new ship and confirmed that they will be releasing the schedules for the line up until April 2010 on Monday. The new ship gets launched at about this time and as yet they have no information of where it will be going,( the young lady didnt work for disney bus co as a driver!!!)

:thumbsup2
