I did not mean to offend anyone....I completely understand that there are platinum members that did not get reservations but I truly feel that DCL should have a set amount of reservations for each reward category and if a platinum member was unable to get a reservation when the reservations are released for platinum members then they could try again when the reservations are released to gold members and then gold and platinum members could try again when the reservations were released for silver members. This would at least allow each reward category members the opportunity to get reservations.

I think this is a great idea and you should send it to DCL customer support
Maybe it would be something they would consider

Lastly, I have recently found out that our cruise will actually be the Dream's 5th cruise....I sure hope DCL makes this cruise very memorable considering the premium fares we are paying and the fact that our deposits are non-refundable and non-transferable - I wonder if DCL did this because they knew once the information got out that we were not the "inaugural" cruise that some people would cancel.

This is nothing new in the cruise industry. They have the "official" maiden voyage with paying passengers and a bunch of pre-maiden voyage sailings, viewings, etc for media and travel industry.

My TA is going on 3 such events all before the official maiden voyages
One on DCL one on RCCL's Allure and I forget the third. She told me that cruise lines do this all the time

It will actually be the 7th sailing - from what I know there is the transatlantic that will have some Disney exec's and their families on
Three 3nt sailings for cast members in early January
The 2nt christening cruise on January 19
a 2nt cruise on January 21

14 completed cruises. all different lengths
15 next month another 3 night Nov 4th.

Should I be a Platinum member?

Go ahead tell me no offense will be taken.
I have not completed 10 , 7 night or longer cruises? :grouphug:

Elaine i love you! :grouphug:
You may board the ship with us, butter tarts and all....:rotfl: :grouphug:

Maybe you get an anchor or 2 for each time you cruise? so many anchors equal so many nights????
So on?

I certainly think we have cruised enough to be at the top tier of the program.$$$$$

. We will be paying for whatever we do or don't get...

Maybe we should put 6th Inaugural Dream Cruise on our Lanyards!

... just kidding... just kidding!

I agree, 6th! :sad2:

Correction: 7th Inaugural Dream Cruise on our lanyards! :rotfl2:

Maybe we can do T-Shirts! LOL!

again... just kidding! gotta laugh about it! If I let it get to me, it will ruin the cruise... can't let that happen!

Can you put Ira and Peg down for the BBQ? I would love to be there, if you need anything, let me know.

Shattered my right leg and knee last Thursday and was worried about the cruise, but the doctor said doable, but just not going to do all I had planned. The cruise is my excuse to work hard at my PT.

:scared1: Shattered!!! My goodness! How awful and painful. Do take care of yourself. :flower3: Glad you will be able to still take this cruise!

This may be old news but...

We just received a letter from DCL saying that the Dream theatrical shows will now be performed 3 times each evening.

Shows will be at 5pm, 7pm & 9pm

Dining remains at 6pm & 8:30pm, with the 9pm show being allocated to the 6pm dining.

Andy

This was sent to me today.....

Enjoy!

I can finally view this! AWESOME! Thanks! :wizard:

Thanks for posting. I received mine last night and meant to post but then.....oh well, I guess I forgot...

We were set for late dining and received a 7pm show time which works fine for us. Hope it worked out for everyone else.

I understand they are now asking for your show time when you book.

Hi Erin, glad you are joining us :goodvibes

I've had to do some rearranging of my family because we added the Panama Canal prior to the Maiden Dream. Dh and the high school kids are unable to miss that much time at once so are skipping the Maiden Dream for Panama Canal. On a positive note, now my college dd and friend Dicecatt can join us.

Have sent messages to update our roll call and lanyard stuff but need to figure out how to get us updated on the FE list.

We are now:

Grlzmom
dd21 Holly
dd9 Chloe
dd8 Bella
ds8 Nick

joined by Dicecatt

Same two rooms. We will be doing two fish extenders, probably my group on one door and Dicecatt on the other :)

Count me in as a Platinum who has cruised many nights with DCL and was unable to snag brunch at Palo. I really enjoy Brunch and am more than a little disappointed so feel the pain with everyone who is currently dinner and/or brunchless :(

I am hoping dd21 is able to meet some people around her age to chat with on the ship.

I've updated the info on the FE list. Please double check and make sure that it is correct.

I see nothing wrong with giving platinum members priority and we're certainly not platinum.
DCL is, after all, a business.
Awarding benefits[priorities] to certain consumers is a common practice here in Austin, especially in the entertainment and sports events.

Evening All.
We took it right to the last day and paid the cruise off yesterday.
Better we have the money instead of Disney. :goodvibes

The only reason we saw for paying the cruise off early would have been Palo and/or Remy. Decided to skip them this time.

There will be so much new to see and do, I don't think we will miss them.
Maybe on the Members Cruise. Maybe.

Noticed yesterday that spa treatments (Rasual) we had booked were no longer showing up on our reservation.

Received a call from DCL today saying that the spa reservations we had made were not being offered on the Dream. This in spite of the fact that they had been booked and confirmation numbers issued when bookings first opened. Maybe they could have called first instead of just changing folks reservations without notice??

Can you say DCL right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing!! :confused3 :confused3 Think they just used the Magic/Wonder website template?

Same thing for the 1/30 cruise but no call on that one.

Oh well, more time to explore the ship. :thumbsup2

Bob

DCL has a scuba excursion in Nassau, but it is listed as two 30-minute dives, which is significantly shorter than Stuart Cove's standard two-tank boat dive.

Is anyone interested in a "arrange it ourselves" dive in Nassau? If you are, are you also interested in an afternoon dive? (Total three tanks.)

I dove with Stuart Cove's a couple of years ago but am open to other operators. (Char didn't like SC's shark dive. We liked the Small Hope Bay Shark dive, but the Dream isn't docking in Andros.)

BTW - We might also be interested in diving in FL before the cruise. We arrive late Friday night (Jan 21) so Saturday is iffy, but the cruise doesn't leave until Wednesday. However, we don't have any local knowledge/experience.

Andy and I would like to attend the BBQ. We're staying at AK before the cruise but I don't yet know if we'll have a car to get things.

We are Florida divers so I can assist with info on dives here. January is cold for us - and can be rough off the coast. I can PM some good dive operators if you like. I'd recommend you head south from the Port - you need to be in Jupiter or even further south for some good reef/wrecks.

It's tempting to think about a 3 tank, but we really are spoiled living here so I am not sure if we want to take dive gear for a dive in Nassau....plus we have (or HAD) a spa treatment on the Nassau day. Not sure now based on the prior posters comments about spa treatments.

Regardless, it will be fun to chat about diving.

Hi Sarah, I can't find my name on the FE list? We are still GTY, but I can get the room number to you once we get it. Thanks! bonzie1 (Georgie + Joe)

No letter for us in NJ yet. Maybe it's because we are GTY! :rotfl2:

Q - Are they assigning you to a show (i.e. with tickets... like dining) and not allowing you to sit with your friends who may be on another dining rotation and set for another show? Sure hope not!

I know... I know... go with the flow... Maybe DCL will work out all of the kinks on the first 6 Inaugural cruises! ;)
