Can someone explain what the stateroom tours are and what happens at them? Is this Disney sponsored or this forums? Does whom ever is arranging the tour just ask people on this board who are ok with allowing guest to come into their stateroom to see what they are like? Are their freebies in the staterooms or little gifts?
I have heard about this but was unsure what it really is and what they do. I have heard people doing the tour and getting gifts other than FE gifts? Is their a signup sheet for the MV of the Dream?
Thanks for answering these questions!
I volunteered to coordinate the stateroom tours. What happens is that the purpose of the tour is so that we can see what the staterooms look like in the other categories so it helps us for future planning as to what category we would like to book on the ship.
It is not sponsored by anyone, just arranged independently here on the disboards. I have had people PM me if they were interested in showing their stateroom on the ship. We will meet at a pre-designated time and start at the first stateroom and then the whole group will move on to the next. So we will go in an orderly fashion, from the first stateroom to the last (they aren't open the whole time as those showing their stateroom want to see the other staterooms also.)
We did this back on the inaugural Panama Canal cruise because everyone wanted to see different categories of staterooms. I would say that it will take about 45 minutes to see all the staterooms.
No sign up required. You will get the information in your mini navigator (that I will put together) as to the activities on the ship that we are planning separately from the Disney Dream. You are welcome to join in on as many or as few as you like. We also usually do a group picture in the atrium during the cruise along with all kinds of other activities. Since this is a maiden voyage, I am sure our activities will be limited, but there probably will be many informal ones.
I think Peter has the list on his post of those who have signed up to "host" their stateroom for the tour. I will get my list at home and update this week.
