I am so excited that I can not stand it... We are going to wait until Christmas to tell our 14 year old daughter about this trip! We want it to be a huge surprize for her... she has been wanting to go on this cruise every since they named the ship!
I was wondering for all of you that have done 'Inaugural' cruises before... are there any special activites or events that happen on a special cruise like this? I heard from someone that Disney gives all passengers a 'special gift' like a inaugural pin or beach towels... just wondering if you all have experienced any thing special for being apart of a a exciting sailing like this!
Also looking for any ideas for the FE, that everyone is talking about? I want to be apart of all the exciting events on this cruise, but not sure what type of gifts or goodies are used.... thanks for ideas, suggestions?
I am SOOOO needing this cruise vacation! Bring it on!:wizard:
We were on the MV of the Magic and every cabin got a framed picture of steamboat Mickey with the ship name and inaugural season on it. Many people were upset that not EACH person in the cabin didn't get one as many people were friends sharing a cabin and not all families so which friend would get the picture. There we MANY, MANY upset people and a riot almost broke out onboard. DCL finally gave out a picture to every persons as they left the ship. We had five people in our family so we actually got six of them. With the MV of the Magic DCL really had not clue about cruising. They was no cruise director, no real activities, CM's were clueless about what was going on around the ship. No real mention that is was a special ocassion or anything. Service issues, no A/C part of the cruise. People were really upset that there was no recognition that we were the first paying passengers. Espcially when all they had playing continuously on the cabin TV was the HUGE VIP and celebrity celebration they had at the port the day before for the VIP cruise and Ship Christening celebration.
They have since learned that you really do need a Cruise Director and the Cruise Staff to keep guests involved and entertained!!! They have certainly earned their sea legs since that first cruise. It was our first cruise also so I did not know any better but people were furious onboard at the lack of stuff to do.
I would hope that the MV of the Dream will be much better!
