Hi Everyone

This is the list for free custom lanyards and name badges for everyone
in your cruise group. Please take a close look at your listing and PM
me if I've made a spelling error, left someone off, or if you are no longer
going on the cruise. Please PM me if you would rather have a different
version of your name on the badge (nickname, etc.).

An accurate list is very important because I need to know how many lanyards to order!

Ken

Thank you, Ken. Our names are fine. I couldn't remember if I had let you know we'll be on the ship. I'm glad to see you've got us on the lanyard list!

  • Whaddya mean? No Bubba kegs? What are they going to do? Throw you off the ship? :hippie:

Good Morning Cruisers!

Peter - I do not much care for deck 2 either, if an upgrade put me there instead of a higher deck, I would probably want to decline the upgrade!

Guess we will miss the Dream coming in, we get off the New Years Eve cruise on the 3rd.

Have a great day all!

Where do you find the press releases on that date? I wanted to read up on more of the details too.:confused3 Thanks! Sheila

I posted quite awhile ago the information on the Dream. This is what Captain Tom told me when I toured the Dream in Papenburg in June on the signature collection excursion with my daughter Jamie:

January 1st-Dream will test dock at Castaway Cay
January 2nd-Dream will test dock at Nassau
January 3rd-Dream will test dock at Castaway Cay
January 4th-Dream will arrive in Port Canaveral

That is why we are booked on the New Year's Eve cruise on the Disney Magic. The Disney Magic will be in Nassau on New Year's Eve, sea day on New Year's Day and Castaway Cay on January 2nd.

I asked Captain Tom to be sure that on New Year's Eve to get close enough to the Dream so we could do fireworks at sea together! :rotfl:

Then I asked him to make sure on our sea day we just circle Castaway Cay so I can get pictures of the Dream docked at Castaway Cay.

I am hoping my "Dream will come true"

:worship: I bow down to you as you are SOOOO on top of this. Thank you for the information. Do you think Disney will be posting her whereabouts online as all of this plays out? Or do you think they will try to keep it underwraps?:confused3

When we had the opportunity to eat dinner in the Palo's Private Dining Room I did mention to Tom Staggs that they needed to put the whole sail out on line because we would all be watching. He just smiled, so I don't know if they have any plans or not. I'm sure we will be able to pick up on different webcams in different cities as the ship makes its way. I am sure they will film the whole thing for historical purposes and at some point we will be able to see it. Just hope it is "live" while it happens.

After sea trials in November, the Dream will return to Germany where it will stay until Captain Tom actually takes over the ship and if my memory serves me correctly, they leave Germany somewhere around December 17th I think. It might be as early as the 13th, but I didn't write it down when Captain Tom stated the date, so I am not 100% positive on that bit of information.

I would love to be in Papenburg when the Dream goes out the River Elms to the North Sea. They had pictures at the shipyard of previous cruiseliners going out and there are hundreds of people along the river watching, taking pictures, etc. It just looks like it would be absolutely incredible. We were told that the ship will actually go out AFT first, and be backing out the whole way. Can you imagine what a sight that will be?

I'm just crossing my fingers that we will get to see it play out live through the internet somehow.......

We can "Dream" can't we?

pirate:It gives me goosebumps, just thinking about it.pirate:

It's still GTY for us... Maybe since they opened up more GTYs we will get a nice upgrade? :wizard: We are just :goodvibes SO HAPPY :goodvibes to be on this voyage!!!

I'm still waiting, too! For grins - I went to expedia, they're offering four categories (5a, 4d, 4c and 4a). 7 staterooms each are available for 5a and 4d, but 4c and 4a are guarantees. Am I crazy, or if you get upgraded from 4a, wouldn't that make you concierge level???

Silly question - I should know this (especially since I'm gold level), but since I can book excursions and meals on the 13th - that means I need to stay up on the 12th, right?

Hey Weve got a question about tipping on ship.
(We dont tip much here in New Zealand)
When we last went (in the first year of the Magic) we were given envelopes at the end that we put the amounts in for the servers, housekeeping etc. Does any one know or if they have cruised recently if this is still the case. Or is it better to leave something in the room each day for the Housekeeping like we do at Disney world

Hi Ali and Rob
Yes -- they still use the envelope method. One change since you last cruised is that you can choose to charge your tips to your shipboard account instead of using cash. If you choose this method, a "chit" is delivered to your room the last night for you to put in the envelope (you can choose to augment if you rec'd super duper service). The tips are deposited into the employees account right after the cruise. Other than the recommended tips, you might want to have a dollar or two handy for a tip should you order room service.
