Disney Dream Inaugural Cruise 1/26/2011 Part 2

Ahoy Mateys! We just hit Cocoa Beach! (there is a street here named I Dream of Jeanne!!!). I am DREAMing!!!

Those clouds look dark. What is the weather?!

Regardless we are one excited family almost there!!

...bet there is 200 people in line to get on already!

Garage is open!

To all of our friends that know us from the past and are cruising today, hope you have a great time. Peter,, don't forget to stream all of those pictures and video to us peons. Bob, Lee, Jenn, Georgie, Linda, Ken, Miss all of you guys. Hey,, is our favorite celebrity there with you , Linda? Looking forward to any tidbits you throw our way. Oh, must not forget Scott and Lynn(What about that DVC, you guys?)

Bad news from the concierge front - the rooms are all gated off!! We've expressed to every concierge crew member that this is very disappointing for all us DISers.

Well, we can still get out and give gifts to everyone else, which is my favorite part. The concierge crew said that they'd be happy to hold gifts if other guests wanted to drop anything off. I kinda chuckled at that - 150 rooms?!?

Anyway, if you really want to get into the concierge rooms, anyone coming on the stateroom tour will have a chance. Otherwise, I think it'll just be the one downside to staying concierge in the future.

And we arrived late to the port this morning, so I still need to track down Ken to get those lanyards!

P.S. - The concierge private sun deck and lounge are awesome!!

P.P.S. - If you don't already have a Rain Forest Room pass, they're probably all gone. They had a limit of about 40 passess - wow!

Has anyone else accessed the Internet from the ship? I just signed on, but was never asked how many minutes I wanted to purchase :confused3

Thanks for the BBQ Scott & Lynn.....the rain was an added bonus to bring us even closer!!!!! Can't wait to see everyone on the ship!!!!!!

Hey Mickey&JoshNut, Hope you have a great cruise. You are in the same room that we will have on the Fantasy Maiden Voyage. Love to hear your thoughts of the location.

When someone gets time to post about their experience let us know about the electrical sockets in the stateroom. The pictures make the sockets at the desk look like European plugs. Also will the plugs in the bathrooms support my daughter's hair dryer ?

They work just fine for our plugs...and no, it will not support the hairdryer.

I'm on live right now. Fun, fun fun...but merchandise is completely nuts. The RSP is crazy, the Dooney and Burke thing was a nightmare that I did not participate in but I took a picture of the giant line, and the shops have been psychotic. Scary. The lines for guest services has also been long.

There are kinks...but we are having a blast. I cannot imagine what a mess it would have been without the practice cruises...gosh awful for sure. Check my trip report for more details...in signature...

Hi all,

Just got back from the cruise and had a great time!! It was so nice to meet you all !!!
Got lucky and was upgraded to deck 11 with concierge. Loved it, but the gates to get in were a problem most nights. Couldn't get in and had to wait for help, but it was worth it for sure !! Thanks for all the FE gifts, you all still managed to get them to us !!

I wanted to give a great big thank you to everyone for their fish extender gifts...they were awesome!!!!!! I had to explain to our stateroom host why strangers were leaving presents for us....

The cruise had a few kinks...but they will get worked out....the Aquaduck was AWESOME!!!! We had a blast watching Donald Duck ride it!!!!!

I guess I'm not surprised...the maiden voyage merchandise is already on eBay....including the Dooney & Bourke Disney Dream purses....for double the price.

Hello all, we're now at Beach Club Villas for the third part of our vacation ;-)

Thanks to all our DIS board friends who made the trip so special. Loved the lanyards, all the Fish Extender goodies, the mini-navigator, etc. Wow! And the stateroom tour was amazing. This was our first cruise with the DIS and it truly made the trip:cool1:

And a special shout-out to our tablemates Beth, Mary Beth, Brandon, Shelly and Jane - LOVE you guys! Stay in touch. :lovestruc

Blessings - Lin and Andy

Great first Disney cruise.
Thanks to all our new friends who made this special.
The tour of the Roy Disney suite was very cool. As were all the other rooms.
Perfect cruise - except for debarkation which was just crazy.
More to come on all this when we do our review.
The food and staff were better than any cruise we have ever had and we have been on some good ones.
I would trade this Maiden voyage in on the Oasis which we did last year.
We will be back.
Little hiccups here and there but lots of great Disney magic
Peace
Tim and Donna:cool2:

just got home and hope to catch up on the posts in the next few days.
Thanks to everyone who helped make the cruise special and to those who made the extra effort to get the FE gifts to the 12th floor.
For anyone ever faced with that, the concierge lounge is staffed 6:30 am-10pm and they said to knock on the door and they will deliver the gifts to 11 and 12.

To our wonderful table mates--Shelly, Jane, Lin and Andy-you made our cruise soooo special. When we linked our dining I never expected it to turn out to be so much fun. We love you guys!
If anyone does a trip report please post the link.
take care'Beth

Thanks to Scott for organizing the great barbecue at OKW to start things off. We were re-united with friends from our 2007 Med Cruise and met many DIS Board friends. Thank you for the Lanyards and Aquaduck fastpasses.

The Dream was big and beautiful -- we miss her already. We did not leave the ship in Nassau hoping to see and do everything. Our only regret was the cruise was too short. Congratulations to those doing the back to back cruise.
