The candy exchange is like a fish extender exchange but of only candy. Think of it as a backwards Trick-o-Treating. Instead of people knocking on your door and you give candy, you go to their room and leave the candy. I've never done a Halloween cruise...I'm really just going with my gut on this.
On my last cruise some people were party of a candy exchange where they gave candy from their states or candy that is local to them. I was not part of that group but I heard there were some really good stuff. Figured it would be interesting to do since this is a Halloween cruise.

We are looking to do a Fantasy booking for February 2016. It will be our 10 year anniversary. I would love to book now but by DH wants to do it on board to get the discount and OBC. But I think the price will be expensive by then.

Yeah I was thinking the SAME thing...but waiting to book a cruise in Oct for the following Feb/Mar you chance the price being sky high since that's under 6 months. Other thing too is you chance them changing discounts...like my friend rebooked and was hoping for 10% off and 10% down however because she only rebooked a 3 night she had to still do the 20% down. Decisions, decisions, decisions.

My family is actually going to a friends house. I usually cook w my sisters and I'd make mac and cheese but this year I am just taking a Ham

A lot of people have asked the question "what is a Candy Exchange?" The easiest way to describe it is that it is similar to the FE Exchange but strictly candy. Being the this is a Halloween on the High Seas Cruise and we will be on the ship on Halloween I thought it would be a great idea to do an exchange of just CANDY.

Candy could be:
unique from your home town
everyday favorites
candy you don't get everywhere
candy you buy for your home trick-o-treaters

There is no rule here except this is for ONLY CANDY.

Candy can be placed in treat bags, or packaged in any way you like and delivered to each cabin either in their FE located outside their door or otherwise attached to their fish outside their door or hung off their door handle.

Hello there! WOW! Have I been overwhelmed with information since booking what seems to be the "Halloween Cruise" yesterday! My DW, Pam, and I (Jeff) are celebrating our 28th wedding anniversary and we decided to do it on the high seas on the Dream. Excited is an understatement!

So, I stumbled upon the DISboards last night... had NO idea there was such a tremendous community so actively involved. We're new WDW Annual Passholders and have been in full-Disney mode for a couple months now. Being originally from Massachusetts, it was always a dream of mine to go to WDW... okay, it took nearly 40 years for it all to fall into place but like they say, better late than never.

I'm doing all sorts of research on the trip, excursions, and the "to do" things... I've learned about FEs, decorating cabin doors, and other fun stuff. So, how many of you have already been on an "Halloween" cruise? How "Halloween" is it? I'm sure it'll be much more "magical" than handing out candy at home... what can we expect?

Gotta say, I'm truly enjoying reading these forums and learning the lay of the land... who knows, maybe I won't be a Disney novice too long!
