Disney Dream Doesn't Have Solid Whitewall Verandahs?!?

I'm not doubting anymore! This picture says it all! :goodvibes

That is just so pretty!! and they have Fantasia Mickey with the brooms?? HOW COOL!!! I LOVE that Mickey the best!

The Mickey/Dream sign is on the area of deck 3 and 4 aft which do not have rooms at the aft of the ship. The first set of white railings above the sign is deck 5 aft.

OMG!!! Wonderful News (I think LOL) :cool1:

So do you think this means that there will be no rooms on the Dream with solid white wall verandahs? We are going to be in room 8678 which, I think, is deck 8 aft.. cat 6a. I hope we don't have the white wall verandah.

Thanks so much for posting this picture! We are booked in the Deck 5 aft cabin directly above the word "Disney"for the Inaugural sailing. It's so great to see a pic of "our" cabin.

IMHO, it looks like a very low white wall (maybe a foot high?) topped with the plexiglass railing. Whatever it turns out to be, I am just so excited to see this pic!

Yup!… I mean it's still considered a whitewall verandah, but it's barely there! :goodvibes

I downloaded the pic of the back of the Dream - if you zoom in, it appears that the supports for the back railing are in a "V" shape - making it look like a double back railing???

(Also - silly question - I assume the "curtains" over the back of Deck 5 are just some kind of coverup for the painting that's going on ?)

not so sure… :sad1:

But we'll be sure after the MV!

and yup the curtains are for either painting or other construction in which debris may fall out and ruin the beautiful painted hull :goodvibes

So could that vacant area (directly above the broomstick) be a "secret" verandah? The light looks like it may be a door, and on the deck plan the door looks like it leads straight to the starboard hallway on deck 5.

Also, can anyone tell what is on deck 4 directly below these rooms? It's just a gray area on the deck plan. I'm contemplating booking one of these rooms (if I can talk my DD out of the huge window we have booked now. She's so looking forward to "sitting" in it!) I don't want to book one if it's over a club or something noisy.

I don't think there'd be any "secret" verandah on the Disney Dream. All the rooms on all decks in the aft of the ship are all staterooms… We're no open deck space in the aft of the ship like the Magic and Wonder to put the "secret" veranda...

But look at the deck plan on Deck 5. There's not a "room" there.

There is, actually… The back of the room is shaded, but the shaded part is the verandah for those staterooms...

Well, my brain's fried tonight. I still don't see what you see. The deck plan that I'm looking at doesn't have a room there at all. The entire thing is gray. Technically, stateroom 5690 should be there but it's just gray.

This is what I'm looking at:

It is there. The first set of windows is 5188. and going right is 5190, 5192 and then it skips a cabin space then is 5688 pirate:

That's what I'm talking about, right there. The skipped space "should" be stateroom 5690, but there's nothing there. That's why I'm wondering if it isn't a walkout onto a public verandah.

Ok, maybe some of this confusion is stemming from the fact that I said to look directly above the broomstick...not seeing that there were 3 broomsticks on the stern! The "space" I'm talking about is directly above the "M" in Dream.

I see what you are saying but there is the gray area on Deck 6 also, right next to 6192 (I booked 6190 and 6192). There is the gray space, actually, on the other decks going up also.
The gray space on Deck 6 though is much smaller than Deck 5 so really not sure if it could be another cabin.

We are in 5192 on the inaugural & ever since we booked it we have joked that our cabin is next to the "hallway to nowhere". Now I see that the hallway has a door. Maybe a small secret deck?

Ooops… I missed that one.. Sorry! :goodvibes

That's what I was thinking. Let us know about it when you get back! And have a great inaugural cruise!!:thumbsup2

Ok... so now i see what you all are saying about the empty space. I overlooked why it was being discussed. My guess is a crew stairwell. If you look at the rear of animators pallet and parot cay there is a set of doors. That leads to a stairwell that is used kinda like a "utilidoor" it provides access to the restaurants without having to walk through the other spaces in uniform. Just a guess of course. pirate:
