This will be our 1st ever cruise. Celebrating our 20th anniversary. I hear that the concierge doors on the Dream are wood. Will magnets work at all? If not what ways can we decorate. Our 2 daughters will be with us.
Thanks

In my experience magnets do not work on the doors. The doors do have a metal strip around the inside of the doorframe. I did see once on the Fantasy where someone had made a clothesline type string held up by strong magnets across the the top of the doorframe (up high with room to duck under it). Then they took mini clothespins to hang lightweight decorations.
I'd like to hear if others on here have found a creative solution.

The Concierge doors on Dream/Fantasy are not entirely made of wood but they do have a thick wood veneer that prohibits normal magnets from sticking to them. If you wish to stick something, you need to use rare earth magnets. This is also true of some doors on Magic/Wonder that have had many coats of paint over the years.

Correct, Concierge doors are wood and magnets are not only not feasible but any type of decor that affixes directly on the door is prohibited according to Disney Cruise Line due to potential damage to the door. All of the Concierge Staterooms have room number placards that double as "note holders". You will see spa reservations/notes, etc left here by staff. I have seen folks use these as a way to "hang" decorations in similar fashion to what you see with some of the "Fish Extender" holders.

Hi!! Just got off the Fantasy on Saturday. Many of our neighbors on the Concierge floor had decorations on their doors. The most common was the their names in the Disney name tags type logo. I'm going to try to find them for our next cruise and also order the strong magnets mentioned in this post.

I've never sailed concierge, but have read repeatedly from those who have that you can add those super-strong neodymium magnets (available from Amazon) to your decorations to get them to stick to those doors. The doors only have a faux wood veneer- they are magnetic underneath, so you just need to use strong magnets. Tape them to the underside of your decorations.

You absolutely are allowed to use magnets (just not tape, other adhesive material, or over-door hangers) to decorate your doors, including in concierge. Strong neodymium magnets have been used successfully and discussed in many concierge trip reports.

The concierge doors are not made of real wood- almost nothing onboard is, due to it being a fire hazard. It's a faux wood veneer over metal.
