Disney Dream August 7, 2011

Joining the paid up club! Counting the minutes until we can book things this weekend. Still no resolution to the age issue with DD, but a manager is "looking into it" for us and said she will get back to us this week. My fingers are crossed! And, the more I read about the Polynesian hotel, the more I'm pleased with it, so no longer focused on getting into Contemporary. Now if we can just get that Main dinner seating we will be happy campers!

Wait - when is your date for booking? Ours is May 9...which I guess is technically the weekend, if you think of it as midnight on Sunday night...although I agree that clearly we are also counting down the minutes! Anyone have anything particularly fun they'll be booking? I have a spa treatment in mind and the cruising buddies are convincing me to get off the boat for a bit and do a tour of the forts in Nassau.

Yes, yes--Sunday at midnight! Will be a nice end to Mother's Day.

I'm hoping for Parasailing on CC, Atlantis water slides in Nassau, and maybe something at Palo. : - ) Fingers crossed!

I'm also hoping for parasailing! One of my nieces was recently saying she'd love to fly; when I said she could fly on Soarin', she said she wanted to fly for real. So I'm sure they will love that!

Also hoping to take them to swim with dolphins in Nassau. (if it was just me, I'd stay on the ship)

If they have any Cabanas left, I'd love to rent one- mainly because I am so fair and burn so easily. I love Castaway Cay... but not sure the umbrellas will be enough to keep me from burning, even with sunscreen...

Hope we all get what we want! :)

My family spent a week at Atlantis last summer and did the shallow water dolphin experience there. It was AMAZING--I highly recommend it! DD still talked about Breuer, our dolphin and how cute and fun he was! The pics from that were front and center on out Christmas cards this year! : - )

I did parasailing a decade ago with DH and it was wonderful. Just so peaceful and beautiful. Wish it was longer--we could have floated up there all day!

I love the idea of a cabana....but gosh that is a lot of $$.

Good luck!

Oh my gosh...now you are making me want to do parasailing.

I also of course have to add that I am still hoping and praying for availability at Remy and Palo brunch. But I know I can ambush someone upon boarding for those if need be!

I plan to try to get Palo brunch and dinner. Also, Remy's. I think we are staying on the ship in Nassau (been there done that and I dont want to spend a fortune at Atlantis...although it is quite fun!). At CC we plan to take it easy, swim, float, snorkel, bike and rent aqua trikes or boats.

96 days!!!!

Everyone who's done dolphin excursions have enjoyed them so I think that would be a good choice- the nieces love swimming and love animals. My younger niece doesn't like water slides (wouldn't even go on the one at AKL :confused3) so Atlantis is out. I really want to do things we can enjoy together since it's a rare chance for me to be able to spend so much time with them.

I went parasailing at WDW... it was great but I spent most of the time worried about dropping my camera :rotfl: So I am ready for a redo. :) My nieces have never parasailed. I'll have to go tandem with the younger one; not sure if the older one meets the weight limit to go solo.

I don't like the $$$ for the cabana so I'll be ok if I can't get one. ;)

I finally paid in full. I was able to get dinner ressies for Palo and Remy but no brunch....we're not sure about excursions, so we didn't book any.....

I just assembled the first of my adult FE gifts! I've been picking up little things for months (all going with a certain "theme") and I need to STOP shopping because the one I just assembled is absolutely CRAM packed, lol! I think they are super cute!

I'm making 2 totally different gifts...one for munchkins and one for teens/adults.

I just love the idea of FE gifts and am so excited to participate! : - )

Does anyone know the cancellation policy for Palo? I'm asking bc what if we book a Palo reservation online but then when we get there, find out it is Pirate night...? Will we be able to cancel/reschedule Palo? TIA!

I am frantically searching for a thread I read on the DIS this week that gave the dining rotations and theme night schedules for the 5-night double-dip cruises! Now I can't find it and am mad. However, I do have in my notes for making reservations on Sunday night, if it will help anyone, that pirate night is night #3 and that the final night will also definitely be a repeat night in one of the restaurants. I'm not sure which night will be dress-up night yet. (ETA: It's night #2)

ETA: FOUND IT! HOORAY!

Basically, according to this info, the "worst" nights to do Palo would be night #3 if you really want to be there for the Pirate Menu and night #4, because you would miss one regular rotation restaurant entirely.

You rock! THANKS for posting this! It really helpd me lay out what I'm hoping to plan! Who knows if I will actually GET these things...but at least now I have it all organized!

Excited that the fancy dress up night is night 2....that's DD's 8th birthday! : - ) Though we are generally dressy people anyway, so will probably be fairly formal every night!

Agreed! Happy Mother's Day...may daughters and granddaughters spread a little pixie dust on you today! Thanks for all you've done to love and support us younguns over the years :)

Just booked the 2 excursions I really wanted- dolphin swim and parasailing! Hope everyone else who could book today got what they wanted, too! :)
