Disney Dream - April 3, 2011 - 4 nights

Wow! Love the activity on this board! :lovestruc

Michelle - Way to go on that 1/2 marathon! You definitely will be leading the Mango Rum Run! pirate:

Richard (BishopFamily) - I just updated the first page with the Mango Rum Run, b2b, and the celebration of the kid's b-days. Glad to see you checking in! Less than 6 months to go! :yay:

To Everyone looking for your flights - Here's some pixie-dust pixiedust: - Maybe Tink can help! We all know that stress of finding that best flight for the right amount of money...:tink:

To Everyone who has found their flights...congratulations! pixiedust: Here's some more pixie-dust...we need to throw it back to those folks still figuring theirs out! :goodvibes

Quick notes: I am not sure how far back some of you have read, but on the issue of the new show times...be sure to check out your reservation for your dining seating and your show time. Disney is now assigning show times for all passengers. They will be either 5:00, 7:00 or 9:00. You can attempt to change yours if you are not happy with what they gave you. Contact DCL if you made your own reservation or contact your TA if they made the reservation for you. :thumbsup2

Also a Facebook page has been started for our cruise. Join in if you would like too! :cool2: And lastly, you can check out the main cruise thread for a posting with "We just visited the Dream" in the title...they have some awesome pictures of the ship! :)

If we have any new folks that would like to join in on the fun...let us know!

Darn, I went to check out the FB link and realized that I can't join it yet. Most of my friends on FB don't know about the cruise and I'm pretty sure it will show up on my wall. So I guess I have to wait until after Christmas to join, so someone in my friends list doesn't accidentally spill the beans, LOL.

Oh that's right~ I completety forgot about that! Yep, it will show up for sure! Ok, we will really get the party started on 12/26! woot woot!

Congratulations again Michelle on the marathon!!!!
Now we all know who is going to be in the lead on our Rum Run, LOL. Oh wait, you are the one that knows where we are going anyway, right?? So you have to lead

Hmm, not sure about taking the lead as I have no idea where I'm going! :rotfl: Better get my brother to make me a map! haha:laughing:

I just booked our flights for the cruise. We are in Washington State also, but fly out of Portland Oregon. We are only 15 minutes from the airport (vs a three hour drive to seattle). We are flying the day before and plan to stay at the port (probably CI&S). After the 2 cruises (b2b),we are staying at WDW for a few days (yes, the kids will miss those days of school which they will have to get homework to make up...).

Yeah, I don't post often, but I do try to follow this thread. Lets see, Nancy is interested in the Mango Rum Run with the group. DS12's birthday is the week after the cruise. And, DD7's birthday is the week after the cruise.
They are 1 day apart. We will be at WDW for both of them. They know we are going on a cruise but not much of the details or that we are going to disney afterwards. DD7 is finally over 48" so this will be the first trip where she can go on rock-n-roller coaster (and now she will be able to go on Aquaduck too). Her favorite ride had been Tower of Terror ever since she has been tall enough to go on it.

We are also on the fish-extender list, I think. This will be only the second time we have done a FE and we haven't started looking for gifts yet...
I haven't checked with our TA yet as to our dining/show schedule, but we have usually done the late dining in the past. I'll probably book Palo when we can but I think Remy is too pricey for us ($75pp). All the restuarants will be new to us, so we can wait for another cruise if we want to try it. I'm not sure which show time would be best. On the Magic/Wonder, they usually have a family show or other family activity after the first show and before the second dining time. I wonder if they might have multiple times for these also.

More on flight plans. I went with southwest as they are much cheaper than anyone else out of portland to orlando and you get the bonus of no baggage fees. No airlines offers a non-stop out of portland but there are flights with one stop and no change of planes. This is pretty nice as you can usually get a better seat for the second flight before any new passengers board at the stop. Roundtrip fare was $385/pp. I consider anything under $400 to be a good deal for portland.

Richard

Welcome! That makes three families from Washington State! We are in Wenatchee, although we always fly out of Seattle! Saw that you were also on fb! Good Deal! Ok, but now her comes the real question... are you a Cougar or a Huskie? (keep in mind I have a son at WSU!! ) :rotfl:

We have second seating, 5 PM show. Wouldn't have been my first choice. Oh well....

We have second seating for dinner, 7pm show! Whew! I did not want the 5pm show! That is why I was glad we did not get first seating for dinner! Too much of a rush to end the days activites and get ready for dinner. I'm so glad we will see the show before we eat. Think I will just let the kids snack before, and then we can all have a leisurely dinner without having to rush anywhere! Can you tell I hate rushing!
I think I read where you can request a different show time, right?

Oh no, you should have sent me a message! It really is a decent editor once you get the hang of it. I have a bunch of "kits" in my inventory. The thing to do is check periodically and see if there's anything you might like in future. I got the pirate one a long time ago knowing we would be doing a cruise eventually :)

My DS7 today said he wished we could do a cruise again, but he guessed we'd have to wait until DS2 was 4 like he was on our last cruise... Heheh:lmao: it is going to be the most awesome Xmas surprise ever!!!:santa:

ok, I hate to be a party pooper but I am late to the threads regarding the totes and I was wondering if there is any way I can modify the original wording of the tote? I seriously dont want be difficult, but I want to omit the "mouseketeers" on mine......
So, something like this instead (although I have not spaced it out or anything...)
Minnie’s Mango Rum Run
April 4, 2011
Nassau, Bahamas
Disney Dream
I am so the most uncreative person around and I wouldnt even know how to go about creating a file much less a design, but if you could help me out I would be forever grateful! Thanks!

Whoo hoo!! One quick phone call and I was able to change to the 7:00 pm show time keeping the 8:30 dinner seating. Much happier with this than the 5:00 show time. Thanks for giving me the idea to call!

You can go to the cruise magnets section of the cruise boards and request that Jordak modify the original. He's great and will surely do it for you! :thumbsup2 Just mention the Minnie's Mango Rum...and he will know which design...it was kind of unique!

Hi everybody. Been very busy with work and all, but... I have a question. Where can we see our dining and show schedule? This is our first cruise and I've got NO idea what I'm looking for.

We're still without a room assignment, so... is it safe to assume we don't have a dining and show assignment as well? If we DO... where would we find it?

Thanks for your help!

Well, I suspect that there are more cougars than huskies in Vancouver, but I'm originally from Seattle, so that should be a clue.

Did I hear that you are up on deck 9 with us?

All,

I just wanted to post the other version of the Mango Rum Run DISign that mjvans requested from Jordak. Sorry for it being so big, but I didn't want to change the sizing, just in case someone needs it this large. Some of us have already ordered a tote bag with this DISign on it for the run/walk into Nassau for some Mango Rum. EcbLovesMickey is very good with helping people DISign their tote...just let us know if you want some help or ideas. :thumbsup2

Cindy - Congrats on getting that show time changed! :yay:

CY - If you booked directly with DCL then you should be able to see your dining and show assignment on your reservation (I don't know exactly where because we booked through a TA and are unable to see ours, but I know that some on the main cruise boards have been able to view theirs.) I don't think that being a GTY would make any difference in seating and show assignment. If you booked with a TA...contact the TA for the information. My TA just had DCL send us a copy of our reservation...and we could view it from there. I hope this helps! Looks like some are being able to change the show time assignment if they are not ok with what they were given...that's a good sign! :cool2:

All - Please let me know if you would like some other special categories placed on the first page...we can even get some more DISigns made...like for a "Deck 9 Club" or for a "Michigan Club"...etc... Also...I saw that Jordak over on the cruise magnet thread has a beautiful DISign with B2B on it. Just let us know whatever you want posted or if you think that the group wants something special made...

I am going to search right now for a couple of DISigns that someone had requested from a DISigner a while back...

princess: Crystal

Okay...here they are...I cannot remember who requested these...I just frequent the DISign boards and happened across them the other day. Both of these are from Shadowryter.

Has anyone made their magnets yet? I am stockpiling all my DISigns in a PowerPoint folder. I haven't ordered magnetic paper yet...but hope to soon. If anyone finds a good deal on magnet paper...let us know...

I hope that everyone if off to a great day!

My records say main seating, 9:00 show. What time is main dinner? Anyone know?:confused3 Isn't 9:00 show late? Will we miss Pirate party?

On the Magic and Wonder...main seating is staggered at 5:45, 6:00 and 6:15. I am not sure how the Dream will be...but I would guess somewhere around 6:00. As far as the Pirate party...I can't recall the exact time from previous cruises, but I do remember having plenty of time between the late show and the party. My guess would be that the Pirate party would be scheduled for sometime after the end of the last show...giving guests enough time to make it up to the top decks. Someone else may have more concrete information...

If you do not like your dining seating and show time...give either DCL a call or call your TA and see if you can get things changed.

Check out the new Disney blog about Castaway Cay and the director says she will be hosting more guests because of the new ships Dream AND Fantasy, so looks like the Fantasy will be Carribben bound as well!

Sorry it replied before I was finished typing.

I was going to ask if anyone was planning on booking the Fantasy now or are the onboard deals good enough to wait for ?

Crystal, I saved the above graphic of the revised rum run and tried to put it onto a tote at artscow.com. But it is 1228X982 and it says "too small to add, image must be at least 1500X1500 or higher.

Help!

Hi Cindy!
I am attempting to get you direct access to Jordak's Photobucket account. I am going to post this...and try it myself...because I am not sure if it is going to work. I'll write more in a moment...

Click on the link below and that will give you access to the image. Download the image at the highest resolution. I went on zazzle.com - vistaprint.com - artscow.com...the image did fine on zazzle and vistaprint. On artscow...it only worked for a few of the totes. I know that EcbLovesMickey got her totes from artscow...hopefully she can help get the image to a higher resolution. Otherwise...zazzle and vistaprint have some great tote options. Also...I got mine from artscow, but used the striped tote and that only required the lower resolution.

I am sorry to not have more information...Let us know what you decide to create!

If you are wanting to cruise the Fantasy...I would definitely book it on the day that they are released. :thumbsup2 IMO...those first day rates are the best that one can find for DCL...and that the bonuses offered for onboard booking don't equate to the first day booking. :upsidedow Also...if you find that the deal onboard is better...then just cancel the one made earlier and book the new one.

Also...another thing to consider...is the time of year that you will be cruising the Fantasy. DCL does offer some very good rates at really low attendance times...so booking early may not be that good of a deal. You really just have to weigh out what you are looking at. :surfweb:

In our past we have never booked onboard. :goodvibes The first time we cruised...we had no idea what we were doing and just booked rack rate! :scared1: The second time we got a kids sail free offer. :yay: The third time we cruised in August - with an excellent price! :thumbsup2 And this time we booked on the first day rates were released. Now keep in mind...each time we cruised we had the onboard TA price us out a future cruise...but every time...we got the quote back...we knew that we could beat it back on-shore! :headache:

Keep in mind that this is how my family "rolls"...we like a deal! It may not be for every family! :rolleyes1
