Disney Dream - April 3, 2011 - 4 nights

Hey - how did the Minnie ears turn out? I didn't order yet because I am still thinking about the Pirate Princess ears that I saw, LOL. But if everyone is matching...I want to match too ;)

I got mine and they are super cute! They fit me fine. I was in the Disney Store today and sw them there too, so that might be easier for some people to get than online (especially if there isn't a free shipping deal going on)

We stayed at a different hotel the first time (can't remember which one) and had the parking included. I was going to suggest that as well. That way you can get to the port early the next day as well :)

I have also been checking and checking the airtran prices. We are trying to come from GRR. The return home is so high I was scared to book the way there. We might need to drive to dtw, but those prices aren't much better! I missed a great deal out of azo a while back, not sure what day we were going, and I sooo regret that.

Where do they have you park for the cruise? Is it safe, and is there security or snything?

I forgot to say, I also ordered a tote, artscow had them on sale for 2 for $7.99 including shipping, I will let everyone know how they turned out when I get them :)

I got my Bedazzled Minnie Ears too & love them! :lovestruc I was walking around the house with them for quite awhile--my boys just smiled (probably thinking mom's losing it!). ;) Definitely recommend them--they fit the bill perfectly--even the black material is really shiny like something that an evening gown would be made of. They fit pretty good--no headache! I think I'm going to wear them for halloween when I walk around with the boys!

Man, I hate the numbers games that the airlines play! I've been playing around with so many combinations of dates/destination city my head is spinning. We're going with Airtran too. Definitely don't torture yourself & check rates once you've booked! I'm so jealous of those of you that are close enough to drive!

When I booked the Residence Inn I was able to book a park & cruise package--it was actually cheaper to go with the free parking attached to the room instead of the room by itself. That way if I do find an awesome car rental rate for the duration of our stay we'll just keep the car at the hotel.

Good luck with everyone's planning & travel bargain hunting! I'll be glad when this part is done!

We booked our flights out of Milwaukee a while back. Glad that is done.
Haven't been on in a while what is with the minnie ears and where can I get them. They sound pretty neat.
We will be staying with my parents before the cruise. They come to Florida for the winters.

The Minnie Ears are to go with our Mango Rum Run! You can find them at the Disney Store (if you're lucky enough to find one that's still open) or on the Disney shopping website under the adult costume section--it's the one with the red bow.

Don't you just love having parents to stay with in Florida? We're staying with my parents after the cruise! They make great babysitters--time for you to bond with your grandkids, be back in a few! :thumbsup2

BTW when I ordered my tote I got a smaller recycle bag style one so I can fold it up really small into my bag and also it will hold wet stuff well.

Here's what I made if anyone's interested. I am not 100% happy with it, but I had an expiring coupon code and made it up in a few minutes to beat the expiration :)

Hello!

You all have me thinking about the tote bags and such...so I went ahead and found a bag...with design layout that I liked. I ended up purchasing it off of artscow.com with a coupon code of DISCT35OFF...that took 35% off of the bag price. They are promoting a code of DISCOUNT25P on their website...that gives 25% off. Anyhow...here's my bag...nothing fancy! And Wow! I really like how creative EcbLovesMickey got with her bag...great unique job! :thumbsup2

Oh, I also wanted to throw this out...that vistaprint.com had all of their tote bags for 50% off.

I haven't searched for bedazzled ears yet...:surfweb: I might wait until we go in December and see what they have at the parks.

About the parking and security at the Radisson. I haven't really researched it...but haven't heard any complaints...unlike the things that one might hear about Miami hotels and such. I do know that you park in a well lite area close to their conference center.

Speaking about cruise plans and such...is anyone watching the rates at the Comfort Suites in Nassau? Right now they are sky high! I would really like to take the kids to Atlantis again...but not for $400! :scared1:

Happy Friday Everyone!

Hi everyone! It's sort of scary knowing that everyone is finalizing plans and I haven't done that yet  I am supposed to be in school on Friday 4/1/2011 (in MI) and the cruise leaves 2 days later! We have always been able to take off a day or so early but don't know if I will be able to this time :sad1::sad1: I know that we could make it to FL in time but I don't really want to start the vacation on such a rushed schedule.

What to do, what to do.... We have decided to look at the Fantasy itineraries as soon as they come out....if they have a 7 day cruise on the Fantasy in summer 2012 then we may just have to transfer our reservation from this cruise to one on the Fantasy. If the Fantasy goes 3/4 day cruises then we will definitely stick with this cruise (and this fantastic group of Dis'ers :dance3: ). I have my fingers crossed that everything falls into place as it should!!!

Enjoy the lovely fall weather (we haven't had temps in the 70's since the week before Labor Day!).

Hi 3luv2travel!

I totally understand where you are coming from with your schedule. Have you thought about driving some on Friday evening...then hotel...then driving more
on Saturday...possibly another hotel...and the final on Sunday? The best part about cruising is that as soon as you get on the ship...no more worries! So having a hassle prior to boarding is sometimes okay. Anyhow...we drove on a Saturday morning...then hotel...then drove some more on a Sunday to get to our cruise in Miami - 15 hours total. It actually wasn't that bad...just have to have a plan...and be positive about it...;) The itineraries for the Fantasy should be out soon...so that will help in your decision.

Happy Sunday to everyone! We are off to the ball-fields, again! :thumbsup2

In case anyone is interested I started a "group" on Facebook.

I am on FB a lot more than the Dis boards, and thought maybe we could recruit a few more folks over there to join in our merriment who have never been introduced to the DIS way of life (oh the horror!)

Hello Everyone!

Just checking in...everything is going smoothly at our home. Starting to think about Disney shirts and stuff for WDW and the cruise. There are some very talented folks out there on ebay and etsy that create great shirts, etc... Also have been pricing out inkjet magnet sheets...they are so expensive to just buy in Office Max...so a little research may lessen the cost!

As far as Facebook...I think that that is a great idea to start a group! I don't use Facebook...but I am sure that many others do...Keep us posted as to if you get any responses!

I hope that your weekend is going great!

Was that the post from the person that went on the tour? I loved those pictures. It is just amazing to be watching the ship being built, knowing that in 6 months we will be on it!!! Just Amazing!!

I'm glad you like the tote. I think I am going to order one also. I am just not sure which one yet, LOL.

I got my totes in the mail today! They look so good!

The trick to do them in artscow is through the editor. you can create a scrapbook style page using the kits. If you go to the link I had above you can click "make a product like this" and it shoudl give you teh backgrounds and all

EcbLovesMickey - did you notice that the totes came from Hong Kong? Very interesting...yet very good work! And fast shipping! :thumbsup2

jetskigrl - yeah...I was commenting on those pictures taken on the tour. She did a great job of capturing exactly what the ship looks like right now. My husband's comment was, "That AquaDuck thing looks like it hangs out over the water!" It's gonna be fun!!! :yay:

It's getting close to the 6 month mark! :goodvibes

I have ordered from them before and teh shipping is not too bad, especially with those prices. They also offer freebies a lot, so be sure to sign up for their email. They just sent em something for a slew of stuff free (you have to pay shipping though)

I am super happy with my totes, they are so awesome and they fold down so small they will be easy to pack!

Can you believe we're almost to the 6 month mark? If it was WDW we would start making dining plans!
