GaRRy - here is a cut and paste.
And we are fine here in S. Florida, we consider ourselves very lucky, only downfall, no diving for me tomorrow......

Live from the Dream 8/25 Sailing

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Check-in: We arrived at the port via Avis transfer at 10:45. We were directed to the third floor of the parking gargage where they held us until 11:00. We then walked across the bridge, through security and into the terminal. We checked in, given boarding number 4 (we had 10:30 -11:00 arrival time if that made any difference). We were onboard and sitting at Enchanted Garden by 11:45.

Departure: We did not leave PC until the regular time of 5:00 PM. When we got out into the open seas it was ccchhooppyy! Very bouncy going! After we were underway they announced that they were going to try to dock in Nassau about noon today (Friday). Later they announced that all shore excursions were cancelled and no one who booked through Disney would be charged (whew--I cancelled Comfort Suites last week!) It was pretty choppy through the night but settled down a lot by this morning. There was a Carnival ship that sailed about and hour before us out of PC yesterday and we blew by her last night. She never got into Nassau, we are the only ship here today.

Nassau: We arrived about 11:30. Very few people have gotten off the ship. There doesn't appear to be too much damage from what I can see from the ship. There is an area of tents that are pretty much shredded (would that be the straw market maybe?). We are departing at 7:00 as scheduled.

Castaway Cay: They are assessing the damage today to decide if we will be able to make port there or not tomorrow. Captain John said he would let us know tonight as the decision would be made before we pull out of Nassau.

Last I read, the Dream will NOT be going to Castaway Cay for this current cruise, but it will be okay for any subsequent cruises.

And on a really happy note:

You will be eating your words and hopefully you won't have a long walk or have to sleep with the gator. Read this thread, especially post #38: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?p=42409294#post42409294

I am writing this from Olive's Restaurant in Nassau, on the Dream doing a back to back (this is the 2nd one.)

I was told by several staff at guest services that the damage is heavy and bulldozers are being sent in. A full team is en route today. They told me CC would be out of commission for at least a few cruises. Reported roofs blown off and water in Cookies II.

I did see that post later. Still....a few cruises.....we have time. I hope.

I wonder if cabana roofs flew off.....they put them up in a pretty big hurry, and they sit where there's very little protection, if any.

I have a friend that left today on the Dream for her neice's wedding that was scheduled on Castaway cay this week - guess they will wed aboard the Dream- Maybe I will have more info when Liz gets back.

I know Vanessa has been very worried - I just keep reassuring her the wedding will take place - doesn't really matter if it is at sea or on land - Disney will make sure it is the wedding of her Dream!! princess:

I hope your docs included mine??????

I have our paperwork to sign to turn in at checkin...but only two luggage tags for me. "Someone else" got her own set. Yours should be mailed to whatever address DCL has on file for you. But all that's really in there are the luggage tags.

There is still time to join the fish extenders!! Deadline is the 31st! I will then send out a final master list!!
