Disney Dream! 8/15/2012

Still waiting....tick tock, tick tock, tick tock :rolleyes1

Perhaps after 3 today? Do we want to take "bets" on what time or day at this point? Lol :rotfl2:

Woohoo!!! :cool1: One week we will all be at the cruise terminal or close to it!! :woohoo:

Heather

There are only 16 cabins left in CAT 4A and 4B, and 1 in concierge.

Good luck~!~!

Snick :)

That one concierge is my upgrade hope haha. We are in the family stateroom concierge and the one that is left is the 1BR one. We are a family of 5 including a grown man sized 13 year old so the extra room would be nice, but not for the extra $ it costs outright ;)

Kim, you won't need to check Kelly in. She will just go to the club and they will have her name on the list as being onboard and she will be allowed into the club.
Thanks, Robin! :thumbsup2

Hi Heather, I logged on to the cruise site and pretended to book a new cruise with our dates. I click on "choose stateroom". All that is left are 4A's and 4B's and 1 concierge. Three weeks ago, I counted 45 cabins plus 3 concierge.

Just for fun, I'll keep checking!! LOL.

Best,
Snick
Gotcha! I found exactly what you were describing and I think in the past I was always choosing the categories that were booked so the cabin numbers weren't showing, obviously. Hmm...I'll let you keep checking and keep us updated!! lol :dance3:

Got ours too! Cat 7A, with Navigator's Verandah. I can't find where this stands in terms of upgrade or relative to other verandah cabins. It looks like it's fun from the pictures, almost near the back of the boat.
Cool!! :thumbsup2 We actually prefer aft so I hope we get mid or aft when our cabin finally rolls around....:crazy2:

Yes, you can sign kids up online...then when you get to the port, you go to the kids club line to get the bracelet thing. Or you can wait til you board to get it.
Yes, this was our experience as well and it saved time. I registered DS online, created our "pasword", allowed my DH the ability to check out DS, etc and then all we had to do at the PORT was get the bracelet and it saved time! :thumbsup2 I think as you mentioned as well, it's for the age groups are DS's belong to - It could be the older kids don't have to register, right?

Well here is hoping for some pixie dust for you then!!!! pixiedust:

Ok so, I had a dream last night that Heather got a 'special' upgrade to the Walt Disney Suite and invited us all over for chocolate souffle from Palo! How funny is that? Just goes to show that my room assignment obsession has taken over my dreams! :lmao:

Here's hoping it really happens Heather -- and you BETTER invite us over!! LOL! :yay:

That is so stinkin' funny!!! :rotfl2: but, guess what.........

WAIT FOR IT, WAIT FOR IT, WAIT FOR IT - we got our cabin!! OMG! I swear I'm printing the page to prove there are 4 digits there! We are deck 9 and I quickly looked at the room reviews and it's a large porthole window seating - which is awesome. But - I swear this isn't complaining - it's Port, we would have preferred Starboard, it's Forward, we would preferred Aft - but I'm just so excited!! :) WOOHOO - bring it on people! :woohoo: It's a great cabin but more important, the Dream rocks, the cast members rock and so does our group! Thanks for the support and encouragement while we waited!! :grouphug:

I just squealed. I literally squealed while sitting at my nice, quiet desk at work! :yay::yay::yay::yay: I'm definitely doing the happy dance with you. I feel like we've been through hell and back together for some reason. Isn't it nice to KNOW the number now?!?

I'm so excited you finally got an assignment! Woohoo!

Good stuff. GOOD STUFF! Now, what about dining??

Thank you! I swear, I think my heart is still beating a little fast!! lol I almost forgot to check the dining but I did go back in and alas, still no early dining :( DCL confirmed we were "1st priority" so we'll see. I hope so!

It appears we are category 8B which is nice since it's a Deluxe room and has the window seating and a nice quiet deck. I'm looking forward to something new and the limited time we are in the cabin, we'll be drawing straws for that nice window seat!! :cool1:

I was looking at the bath/shower combo for this type of room and it appears it's a round shower that almost bumps out into the cabin, near the bed. Our extended aft verandah didn't have a round shower - it was a "normal shower/tub combo (although smaller than a usual one would be) but it definitely wasn't round. That should be interesting - again, a new change and something to check out!

Thanks again for all the support!

Heather

We have checked in online, signed the documents etc but cannot book our son in - as far as I can see you can only book in children 3-10 in advance :(

Guess we will have to queue when we get on the ship, or can we check our son in at port?

:coffee:

...and I need to say that I'm not sure if it's the same for the older kids clubs. I just know about the OC/OL.

From what I understand, you can just show up at the club itself - his name will be on the list (because they have the list by age). He won't get the same GPS bracelet thingy that the little ones (3-10) get. Maybe someone with older kids could chime in here? I know the Vibe kids (older teens) get a special coded Key to the World card that grants them access to Vibe. Maybe the same for Edge?!?

What port arrival time did you get? Be sure to print out that signature form to bring with you!

Yaaaaay Heather!! DH and my birth certificates came today too, so we are going! It's real!!!

We got 12-12:30 port arrival time but we are coming from AKL on the "porthole" bus! :cool1:

Just one question, if we get there earlier than 12, can we board or do we have to wait for the allotted time? Things have certainly changed since we last did the DCL in December 99! :dance3:

I don't believe the port arrival time matters if you're taking Disney transport. I think they work you in whenever you arrive off the bus.

Would it pay to offer an incentive to the driver to get us to the port earlier... ;) Cash usually works! :cool2:

So I "snoozed" on the on-line check-in, and we got a 2:00-2:30 boarding window. Can someone translate? Does that mean there is no chance we'll get on earlier in the day and have lunch, check out the ship, get ready for the Bon Voyage meet & greet, etc etc? :( (We are arriving by private transportation, no bus driver to bribe.)

I have no personal experience to go by but I have read that you can show up sooner. This is the first time that I have cruised since they have implemented the arrival times but we are platinum Castaway so we can arrive whenever we want.

I think that if you showed up anytime from noon on that you would probably get onboard fairly quickly.

What can it hurt to try at least? At worst case you are sitting in the terminal for a bit waiting to get onboard. The terminal is very nice and has lots of things to look at.

Best case you get there early and get on early :thumbsup2

It's something that I would try at least.
