DISNEY DREAM 5-nights May 29th, 2011

I used Avery Dark T-Shirt Transfers....when I printed, I set it as Photo print on my printer. Let the transfers dry for about 1/2 hour, then peeled (that is the hardest part), lined up, put the included wax paper cover over the iron on, set the timer for 2 minutes, then ironed on.....worked perfectly....the smaller name tags were 40 seconds instead of 2 minutes since they were smaller and the iron was on them the entire time. I practiced on an old shirt first, then once I felt confident, went for the new shirts we bought.

I'm a rebel. I didn't have any spare shirts, so I went straight to the new ones.:lmao: Got 9 shirts done. 3 that have to do with DIS.

I did use the white shirt stuff on the white shirts though. (again rebel, but they are cheaper) The only thing you have to remember is to either mirror image them after you design them or set the printer to mirror image them in the advance setting if you have any words on it or if you have something that would look wrong reversed. I did a Captain Jack Sparrow shirt for DH where he is holding the compass and if I hadn't reversed it he would have been holding it in his left hand when it printed out.

DD (37) graduated from Cedar Crest College in Allentown yesterday with a BA in Forensic Psychology. :goodvibes I am so proud of her for her accomplishment. She works at the college on their Police force. She has been taking classes for about 6 or 7 years. They pay her way. All she needs to pay is books and student fees. The last 2 years she has worked full time at both her job and her classes because going part time she would have been over 40 till she finished. It has been a tough 2 years, but even with that she completed 2 novels during that time & self published them. She also went to a few modeling shoots. She is an Alternative Model with a group called Biz R Babes. I don't think she slept much. We always said she was a vampire. She works nights & what sleep she gets is during the day or her days off. For the summer she only has work, but is going to start on an English degree in fall.

At least she only has work while we are on vacation, so it shouldn't be quite so hard for her & DS to take care of our animals for a week and a half. (our dog & 5 cats and DS dog)

How did you print the pages? Mine are coming out blurry :confused3

Most of my pages have a little bit of "fuzz" on them. I printed my journal at home first to get an idea of quality and I never could get a true crisp page. The blurb site kept warning me of low resolution but the book actually looked better than I thought it would. My book was also printed at 8x10 size which I think helped.

So can you just imagine him throwing up in church all over that gorgeous suit!

Don't you just love his teeth??? We call them his "Mater" teeth because to me, they look like they belong to Mater (Cars movie).

I am SO JEALOUS of all of you with so much done!!! MUST get my back-side in gear this week!!!!

CrazyBoutDisney-

:worship: for the heads up - going to check it out right now while everyone in the house is still sleeping! (me?? I just made meatballs, did 1 load of laundry, made my coffee and have been relaxing for the past 1/2 hour...)

Nice picture!! Good luck today- everything will go fine. Just tell him not to get it stuck ont he roof of his mouth:lmao:.

Denise and Angie, you know Milliepie here on the DIS designs journal pages, don't you? Much easier than going to a commercial website. Take a look at what she has available: http://www.4shared.com/dir/19077581/4fa6c900/sharing.html You can help yourself to any of her stuff, just so long as you don't try to claim you created it. Give credit where credit is due, ya know.

This is where I got all the pages for my journal.

Thanks for the link...so did u print the pages at home or upload them for a hardbound book somewhere or what? I'm on my iPhone so can't look real close now but would love to get something thrown together!

I just uploaded them to a site to print them as it was just as cheap as buying toner and paper to print at home. Plus I couldn't figure out a way to bind them that I really liked.

It was a whirl wind of a day for us. DW graduated from college this morning with her middle school math teachers degree. Hopefully a good job is around the corner (after the cruise of course).

Then the DW and I spent alot of time this evening finishing our FE gifts. All of the cabin and kid gifts are done now. Just have to rent a forklift to get them to the ship now.

Tomorrow, we have two flag football games for DS. Everyone have a great weekend.

Bill
Congrats on DW graduation!

Congrats on DD graduation!

Weekend excitement: My family went to the movies for the first time together last night. We went to see Thor in 3D. My 4 yr old did really well, and it was the first 3D movie my husband has seen.

I am having convulsions!!! I wasn't at my desk Friday and I was at the theater yesterday for auditions for our summer show so I didn't have time to post!!! So here is my catch up post.

Chuck-phil-a (sorry couldn't resist ;)) the princess count down was fantastic. A 10 on the awww factor!!

Originally posted by abcangie87 He couldn't/wouldn't/didn't know what was in the Walt Disney Theatre for the other two nights of our cruise.
On previous cruises they showed the latest Disney hit in the Walt (Lilo & Stitch, Lion, Witch and Wardrobe, etc). Maybe they'll show Pirates there??

Miz Diz I adore the picture in you signature!

Originally posted by Lawflyfish It's a Star Wars weekend, and my boys do love Star Wars! Is that a super cool event that we can't miss, or is it simply a ton of extra people at the park?
The lines that are long are waiting for characters. There are cast members EVERYWHERE so if you plan to have your pictures taken ask a cast member by the character what times they will be appearing. We minimized a lot of time doing this. However we must have waited in line for 1 1/2 for Chewie, but it was worth it!! Don't forget the Hyperspace Hoopla, They are moving it to the main staging area this year!! If you've never seen this, I recommend searching youtube! The MCs are great! The ride line will most likely be ridiculous because it will have recently reopened.

Originally posted by disneyfool 1202 I'm doing the I bought me a new tiara for the cruise dance!!!
I guess I'll be packing enough for all 3 of us. My daughter will NEVER let me live this down either!!

Originally posted by abcangie87 Not my best work, I tend to run out of time for our personal cakes because I take forever on customer cakes. But it's pretty cute... if anyone will appreciate it, it's you guys lol
Not your best work?? It's fantastic.

Originally posted by philatiger Does anyone know what day they would be having the champagne tasting or if there is more than one? I wanted to list it on the roll call but wasn't quite sure what to say.
I'll call concierge Monday and see if they know, so we have a heads up.

Congrats to all the graduates and communion boy!

Starting to pack today!!!!:yay:

Hello all..I've been off the boards for a while due to hectic work and life schedules! :(

Anyways, I cannot believe that we are 2 weeks out from our cruise!!! Soooooo excited for our first cruise!

Questions...what is the best way to make the shirts and the Dis sign for the lanyard. I have not a single creative bone in my body and am clueless as to how to get them done. Also, I know the bracelets were made already but I would still love to chip in if possible.

Can't wait to meet everyone!

Welcome Back Melissa...Yeah, two weeks from right now, we will be getting on the ship and getting some lunch!

I downloaded the Disney font http://www.searchfreefonts.com/free/walt-disney-script.htm, copied it into /Windows/Fonts and edited the blank nametag with all of our names.

Rear graphic

I bought the Avery Dark T-Shirt Transfers, printed the graphics , and ironed them on (2 minutes for the full size graphic on the back, 40 seconds for the smaller nametag transfer on the front) If you already have a graphic on the back, I would recommend putting a small towel inside when ironing on the front graphic so you don't melt the back.

Here is how ours turned out:

Hope that helps

Josie and I went shopping for some last minute stuff yesterday and I got the coolest lanyard holder for my nametag and room keys at Hot topic!:cool1: They have all of their Pirates of the Caribbean merchandise 50%off...so I got the Jack Sparrow lanyard.pirate:
Josie also got something really cute for the Pirate party...We are not dressing up in costumes , but we are representing the new On stranger tides movie very well...We are huge Jack Sparrow fans....Hope too get some braids and beads put in our hair before the party.:thumbsup2

I also found a really pretty headband with a crystal flower that I can wear too the Champagne tasting. Not exactly at tiara ,but it is very sparkly and will work unless I decide too wear Josie's tiara.princess: Claires at the mall has all sorts of pretty options.

We have had horrible weather this weekend...rain and 50's and just down right chilly! I just can not wait too get on board the Dream...:cloud9:

TWO WEEKS FROM NOW WE WILL BE ON BOARD AND ENJOYING LUNCH AND GETTING READY TOO CHECK OUT OR ROOM AND EXPLORE THE SHIP!

So I have been ironing and organzing suitcases...Things are looking good....

I had not been on since Friday afternoon and wow...I had too catch up on like 5 pages....:rolleyes1

By the way...That cake looked awesome!:goodvibes

In Florida now to help my parents since my Mom is really sick and not doing well. I had a bunch of little gifts for the kids already, but was trying to figure out what to get the adults.... Had to go to the store for some things and my Dad told me to take my time, relax and take time for myself....Mom had her pain meds and was sleeping...Was able to go out to a few stores and found the perfect gift for all the families on the FE list....went to one store, bought out their stock, then had them call another store, and in the end, had the exact number I needed! Will be putting together everyone's FE here in Florida, before I head back up to GA, work for a few days, then come back down for vacation! 2 more weeks!!!! See you all soon!

Hope your Mom will be doing better soon. :littleangel:

Thanks to both of you for your help! I think I can, I think I can I think I can (once I buy thirts this week).:laundy:

I just had to laugh out loud on that one!!!!! :rotfl2: My 8yo DD asked what was so funny and I told her. She started singing a song that she found on you-tube that goes....

Chick-Fil-A, I eat it seven times a day, oh I'm in love with Chick-Fil-A!

Is there a document I can print out of the final FE list? I went to the link and the photobucket picture is too blurry.
Thanks!!!!
