DISNEY DREAM 5-nights May 29th, 2011

:lmao: You sound like my husband who has said "enough already" more than once!!!! I have a lot of stuff - just have to find time to put it all together (and then find suitcase space to stash it!!).

Has anyone found a really good packing list? I do this every trip- stress about what to bring. Besides the usual clothes / bathing suits what are you all bringing?? Do I need a night light? Do I need to bring something to keep the kids from opening the verandah door? I just am clueless which is pathetic because this is my 4th Disney cruise. You think I'd actually remember what I needed - didn't need last time!!!!!
I know highlighters for the navigators are on my list but beyond that and sunblock I'm at a loss........ HELP ME!!

I hadn't even thought about highlighters!

I better start a packing list! And I've only done 4 of my FE gifts.

Thank you very much! Happy Mother's Day to all.

I'm trying to catch up on everything. Maxxumuser- I have to honestly say I never looked at your name in a negative way, I just looked at it as "Maxx". I also use Nikon cameras as well:thumbsup2

The one thing I have forgotten to pack is a highlighter. Glad someone mentioned it. We just went and bought stuff for the vehicle. I hate having to buy oil, filters, new battery, etc. but I have a boy scout husband who would not even consider driving 12 hrs without having done all this maintenance to the Durango.

I just realized I never had us added to the roll call! DM, Jackie, DD, George (I don't think they'd want me to give out their ages! :lmao:), DH Jordan(26), and Me Karen (25)! We'll be in cabin 8065, can't remember my parents but it's close by. Early seating.

I can't believe we're at the three week mark, getting SO SO excited!

Jordan and I got married in Disney World last October, and didn't have much of a Honeymoon so this is kind of a little second honeymoon for us, even though my parents will be there. :cool1:

We're also staying at BCV from Wed 5/25 - Sun 5/29! Can't wait to meet everyone! :thumbsup2

:welcome: I have added you to the roll call.

Me neither Maxx.... I just couldn't remember the whole thing :cutie:
---

Is anyone shipping anything to themselves at the ship (like, FE gifts?). My FE gifts weigh about 9 lbs total, which I don't think is that big of a deal but DH is concerned about the space in the suitcase and the baggage weight.

Anyone have a link handy with the info/directions on how to ship something ot yourself on the ship? What are the fees associated with doing that (besides the obvious postage). Not sure what I am going to do....

BUT, I am going to start by getting out the suitcases RIGHT NOW :) :woohoo:

I have to vaccumm them out because they've got a bunch of lint on/in them from being stored in the laundry room!

Hi Angie,

This thread may help answer your questions about shipping to the port.

Happy mothers day to all the mom's!

We went to my parents this weekend (kathy04) who are coming with us and I brought my photobook from last years double dip (they went too) just to flip through and get us excited. (my Trip report from last year is in my siggy!)

This may have been answered if so I am sorry! are we going t get an e mail with all the FE participants names, cabin numbers and ages and gender of children in each room before we sail? (I have gender specific gifts)

we will be at the Poly for 3 nights before the cruise. anyone else?!?

I really want some opinions and this has NOTHING to do with our cruise in a few weeks- just my state of mind this evening.
I worked last night and slept about 3hrs today so I'm tired. Not exhausted, just a bit tired but totally functional.

We had 5:30 reservations for dinner. We got there at 5:15. They sat us at 6:00. We ordred dinner ab out 6:10 - we were then told they ran out of milk, had no kids cups left (so my kids were drinking OJ and apple juice out of beer glasses) and then the dinner I and my mother ourdered was all out and the ONLY other thing on the menu that was appetising to me was $10 more per plate. I was not happy. I asked to speak to the manager - some guy came over who 'found milk' and didn't introduce himself as the manager, so for all I knew he was a bus boy. By 7pm my kids were CRYING because they were so hungry. The waitress (who looked like she was 10) started giving me attitude when I told her I was getting very unhappy, and when I asked her to refil my wineglass that had TWO sips left in it (seriously) she told me I had to have finished 1/2 my glass before she could get me another one so I had to chug down what I had. At that point I almost slammed my glass into her face. My dinner showed up and more than 1/2 the plate was covered in mushrooms (I hate mushrooms) so I gave them to my mother, and by then I completely lost my appetite because my 5 year old was saying "I"m starving, this is the worst mother's day ever" so I ate 4 bites of a fillet mignon I didn't want to begin with. Finally I couldn't take it any more (the chugging of the wine is what finally did me in) so I demanded a manager who got more than an nearful- by now my daughter is crying because she kows I am upset so my husband is yelling at me for my attitude. I told him that all I wanted was a nice dinner for mother's day and by now it was almost 7:15 - we'd been there 3 hrs. I was LIVID.
I refused to pay for t he value of the meal they gave me and asked fo rthem to charge me the amount I would have paid for the shrimp which was actually the ONLY thing I wanted (and what I originally ordered that the 'ran out of'. My husband kept saying "you have to expect it- it's mother's day and very busy" and I said that they should be prepared for mother's day and if it was just one thing that wouldn't be so bad, but it was one after the other until I finally blew a gasket.

They ended up comping my meal entirely- made us pay for my mother's (she also had to get fillet instead of the shrimp that she originally ordered) and they did give me a $50 gift card which was VERY nice of them but to be honest, after that kind of service I just don't want to go back.....

Am I being totally unreasonable, or over-reacting because I'm tired?? Don't be worried about offending me if you think I'm WAY in the wrong here - I am just wondering if my expectations for an evening out were just way off base.

Denise-- i totally would have pitched a fit too! The fact that they accept reservations should have prepared them for what their crowd level would be and they should have prepared accordingly. I agree, one thing being gone, or one service issue, etc is one thing... but for it to all pile up like that... not cool.

We went out at 11a.m. to a restaurant that was NOT offering mothers day brunch and opened at 11, and had no prob. Dinners out in this town are always busy!

I do not think you over-reacted at all. This is a busy day and it seems like the restaurant wasn't prepared for it. I'm sure the server was stressed out and that doesn't help the situation at all. Sometimes you have to stand up and say this is not right and I refuse to pay for this. I had a similar experience once at Outback car pick-up and left the food and refused to pay. I later received a phone call from the manager and a $50 gift card as well.
I try to put myself in the server/manager's shoes and not "cause a scene" but sometimes you have to say enough.

Happy Mothers day to all the great Moms here!! :goodvibes My Mom:littleangel: has been gone for 10 years this Dec. and Mothers day has never been the same for me but I am so grateful for my family:love:
I have had a busy busy weekend! We drove 5 hrs to my MIL's 80th birthday party. :bday: It was a huge success. Her 4 sisters and 2 brothers wear all there, her 6 kids and spouses, 17 grandkids, 7 great grand kids, and other family ( about 80 in total )She has been widowed for 3 years and has managed well but she has a stroke in Nov. She made a remarkable recovery but is slow with her speech and has some short term memory. She had a really great time.:cloud9:
I also had a great Mothers day. My 2 daughters:flower3::flower3: bought me new perfume and it is called "Dreams Unlimited" I am not joking! It is a nice light summery sent. I also had my Birthday :bday: last week and got a huge surprise with an Ipad. and (yes it gets better) I was offered a job on Friday ( been looking for about a year ) and I start Monday morning! A new doctors office has opened and I will be the assistant office manager. I am so excited. I told them about my vaycay and they are giving me the time off. I am so happy and excited I am over the moon party:
I will start packing each night starting tomorrow:dance3:
I can't wait to meet everyone too!

Picked up shirts for myself, my wife and my two boys...I ended up going with yellow instead of the burnt orange like my test shirt since my wife liked it better and I wanted to match...let my boys pick out their colors. Finished doing the back...will do the front with name tags this week:

They look great! I had mine made at Vista print and only got a small graphic on the front left and some writing on the back but it still looks good on white.

Thanks! I had considered buying white, but after my test shirt, figured that colors would make the great graphics pop out and be something that we would wear after the cruise too. Gotta be fashionable!!! :cool1:

Reminder for late comers who didn't get into the FE and want to be a part of FE2....please send me a PM right away with your names, ages and cabin number and I will add you to my list!

I've had several people from the original FE contact me to add me to their list, but not to be a part of the FE2...It has been requested that I post my info... here it is:

The O'Grady's
Kevin (45)
Terry (45)
Two sons:
Quinn (10)
Christopher (8)
Cabin 8114

Please PM your info, so I can add you on MY list!!!

We were out today and hit Target and found some great Disney stuff in the $1 area....told my wife that everytime she goes to the store, she now has to look for fun stuff for the kids....we are still trying to come up with ideas for the adults. I will be making some small things for both the kids and adults.....but any ideas will always be appreciated!

For some reason I can not send a PM to anyone on this board. Unixadm...how many people are on the FE2 list? My wife has extra items for the children and we can accomodate some more families. We both hate to see any child dissappointed. Why don't you post the FE2 listing for all to see.

Bill
