Disney Dream 12th January 2012

Wow - no new posts in over a month? I have visions of getting the ship all to ourselves...LOL I know that won't happen, of course, but it's a nice dream!

We are heading to DL next month for our final use of our APs. I tried to get DH to renew for next year, but the price went up $79 each! CRAZY!

Ginger Renae-We held off on DL AP renewals this year in anticipation of our WDW trip, but the family is having withdrawls. We may break down and get our passes again, and yes, the prices went up!

We could probably deal with a $20-30 increase per person, but $80 a person?? That's just too much. We are also in Northern California and only can get down to DL about 4 times a year. If we were closer and got more use of APs, things might be different.

Add Jeff and Val to the list. Or at least I hope so. We got our quote and have to decide in the next couple of days but are fairly sure we are going to go.

This will be our 5th DCL cruise, the most recent was just a couple of weeks ago on the Dream - also a 3-nighter.

Yay - and judging by your screen name and signature, I can pick your brain about Old Key West! We are staying there before we leave for the cruise. We have never stayed there before, but are really looking forward to it!

Pulled the trigger today and paid the deposit so put us down as confirmed! :sail:

We're staying there after the cruise!

Happy to answer questions about OKW since we've been members since 1995 and have stayed there many times. Feel free to PM me so we don't clutter up this tread with non-cruise talk.

Ooooh! I'd love to pick your brain about the 3-night cruise on the Dream. That way we know what great things we are in for!

Hello all, MouseFan64 and myself will be joining you all on this cruise.

We just booked this cruise on the DVC SS Member cruise last week. There will actually be like 6 of us, four others from here on the board joining us.

If you newbies to cruising are interested. Check out my two blogs about cruising.

TheCruiseBlog - I have some tips about cruising and things to ask for or look out for.

SS Member Cruise 2011 - This was the site we had going for the large amount of us Disers that were on the SS Member Cruise. There were close to 120 of us from the Disboards. :thumbsup2

If you have any questions about the dream or cruising in general please let me know. This will by Shawn and I's 7th Disney Cruise on our quest towards Platinum cruise status. :thumbsup2

Hope to get to meet everyone and maybe we can do a small DisMeet on the day we sail.

I would love to do a DIS Meet on sail day! How fun and I can't wait to meet some new people! I booked this cruise so long ago and I can't believe it's only a little over 3 months until we sail. I'm so excited! When I originally booked it was just my daughter and me but since then a friend of mine and her daughter of the same age booked as well! I have a feeling I won't see much of my daughter now that she has a friend to hang out with. So I'll be able to enjoy some adult time too (aside from the times when I make her hang out with mom)!

Hi Everyone! I will be sailing with you all along with my DH Wally (W@LL-E) on this cruise. We are 2 of the 6 that Milford (disrailfan) mentioned. We were all on a B2B on the Dream last week for the DVC Member cruise and also sailed on the Dream in May. Happy to answer any questions if I can as well and looking forward to getting to know some of our fellow cruisers :goodvibes

Any new Dream cruisers have questions?
I have a question but it's not very exciting. We've never cruised..ever! The ship looks huge so I was wondering if they give any sort or orientation or a tour for us newbies. I like to explore but it would also be nice to get a lay of the land so I don't have to wander around looking lost all the time! :lmao:

Hi Tracerr00 :wave2: Yes, i distinctly remember seeing a cruise tour being given while we were on board the first day. there are also deck plans out there to help you get familiarized and orient yourself on the ship. Here is one CLICKY here Hope this helps!

Boy this is a quite bunch! Good to see some are asking questions. Ask away, we will try to give you an answer and if we don't know it we will get and answer typically. :cool1:

Hope everyone is having an awesome Thursday!

Any runners in the group planning to do the marathon the weekend before?

We will be in WDW that day, but not running in the marathon.

We just paid off our trip! I'm driving DH crazy because I am so excited about the cruise. I know it's really short, but hopefully this is just the first of many cruises to come our way...

The 3 day is way to short normally, but it is a nice winter dis meet for us. We probably won't get off the ship except at CC, glad to hear you are excited about the cruise.
