Disney Dream 12th January 2012

I think it sounds great! District lounge at 3! Just a question, do kids come to the DISmeet as well or is it just adults? I'm fine either way, just not sure if my DD is going to want to hang out with me at this point or if she'll want to leave me far behind! :lmao:

We're flying in from Minneapolis on Tuesday night, going to Universal on Wednesday. We're so excited to fly out tomorrow!

Can't believe we will be on the ship in less than 24 hours! We have been at WDW since Saturday and having a fabulous time.

We spent the day at Universal today and had a great time! Can't wait til tomorrow!! Our check in time is 11 am tomorrow. See you all at 3!

We're over at the Courtyard Cocoa Beach right now on a stay and cruise package. Their shuttle is picking us up at 11:00 am.

Love this place. We used them in September for our 1st Dream Cruise and were very happy with them. Just came up from the lounge where we had some wine and some appy's.

It won't be long now. :sail:

Anyone else re-book onboard? LOL We had such an amazing time that we are doing a 7 day Fantasy trip next year. I'm so excited...even though it's over a year to wait.

We rebooked while onboard, too.:goodvibes We set up a dummy date, because we weren't sure if we wanted to do another Dream voyage first or a Mexican cruise first. Either way, we're going on another cruise!:cool1:

We did. Even though we already have two other DCL cruises on the books (June and December) we when ahead and booked another "dummy" date because we know we will be going back. :sail:

Yes!! We re-booked onboard too! We loved our first cruise so I couldn't help but book again. We also booked a dummy date because I wasn't exactly sure when we could go. I didn't meet any other DISers on the ship but I did do the martini tasting. Loved the cruise!

We rebooked, we are doing a DISPeeps cruise on Febuary 16, 2013 on the Fantasy, I also rebooked on the Thanksgiving sailing of the Dream this year. We were already booked on the PodCast Cruise 4.0 scheduled for December 8th, 2012. :thumbsup2

Welcome back everyone. How was Castaway Cay?

CC was fairly comfortable. We ventured out to Serenity Bay, only to get right back on the tram because the wind was fairly strong off the water making it too cool for us. Pelican Point was just fine though.

There weren't many people in the water, but not everybody stayed out.

Welcome back everyone. How was Castaway Cay?

Castaway Cay was nice! When the sun was behind the clouds I could put my sweatshirt on because it was a bit chilly and then when the sun came out I'd take my sweatshirt back off because I'd get warm! I did this over and over. We rented bikes and rode on the bike paths and I stopped at Serenity Bay which was pretty windy. We ran into Jack Sparrow there which was fun! Ihad a nice time there and ended up going back to the ship around 4 pm.

Had an awesome time! Sorry that we never got to meet up with anyone. We didn't board until after 2:00 by the time we registered, etc. We did make it to the DVC event that afternoon before the safety drill. But the kids never met any others their ages. My 15 year old went to her club a couple times but came back right away and my 9 year old spent about an hour or two total. They both really enjoyed the cruise but I had hoped they would have enjoyed the clubs more. We loved the food and Castaway Cay. If I never went back to Nassau that would be ok. Some guy came up to us there and ask if he could marry one of our daughters! Lol! Pretty creepy. We liked the shows too and the staff couldn't have been nicer. At dinner we ended up at a private table even though the first night it appeared we were to have 4 others join us.

We are already talking about cruising again. Probably for a longer time though I think 5 days would be the longest. I can't imagine eating like that for more than 5 days!!!:rotfl2:

I also was sadden when my string of Dis green Mickeys were stolen from my fishhook. I didn't even think someone would take it after having read how people personalize their doors as such. I had laminated a bunch of them and strung them with fishing line. We normally hang it with a suction cup from a window in our resort. Guess I will need to go back to Home Depot!

Glad to hear you had a good time! We were at the DVC meet, too. When your name got called I tried to get your attention to let you know we were your Indiana neighbors, but the meeting was just too fast paced and I meant to try to meet you afterwards, but I lost where your family was.

I'm so sorry that your string of Mickey heads got snatched. Some people just don't know how to keep their hands off of other people's belongings. I had a magnet get stolen off of my door....luckily it was replaced....it was one of the "Welcome Home" magnets from DVC. They told me I certainly wasn't the first to come and ask for a new magnet. It's such a shame...I wish everyone had the same respect for everyone else's property.

Ha - I thought Castaway Cay was COLD. I went into the water up to my hips, but that was it. DD swam a little, but we ate lunch and got back on the ship. It was fabulous to ride the Aquaduck with NO WAIT!

Overall we had a fabulous time. We did attend the DVC sales pitch on Friday, but didn't buy. We loved the food and pools and pretty much everything. DD would have stayed in the kids' club 24 hours a day if we would have let her. SHe cried a bit whenever we pulled her out for a meal. I let her stay in the club for dinner on Saturday night. DH was up on Deck 11 watching the 49er game that night so I went to dinner by myself...and our tablemates so I wasn't too lonely.

AS I stated earlier, we booked our next cruise onboard. We are going on the Eastern Caribbean trip on the Fantasy in May of 2013!

Noticed several of us have expressed a preference for longer cruises. Just wanted to mention that Dreams Unlimited (the sponsors of this board and the DIS Unplugged podcast) have two group cruises scheduled, one a 5-night on the Dream in June and the other a 7-night on the Fantasy in December. You can find more info on them in the PCC section of the DISBoards.

Val & I are sailing on both! :sail:

O wow..you were at the DVC event as well? Would of been cool to meet our "neighbor" ..lol. Yeah it stinks that the Mickey heads were stolen.. After that I immediately took the DVC magnet and put it inside our door. I just figured there were so many kids running the halls unsupervised that it probably was one of them.

Just wanted to remind everybody about a wonderful feature here on the DIS that only works with your support. If you go to this page you can do a cabin report to let people know about your experiences.

Please help out a future cruiser...it might be me! :sail:
