Disney Dream 12/29/2011

Hi, Linda!

My daughter is 9 now too. Her birthday is 12/25/00. Yep, Christmas Day! :) So, the girls will be the exact same age!

My son's bday is 12/7/99, so he'll turn 12 that same month.

I'm gonna keep stalking to see if I can grab an 11C GTY, but for now I'll take the 11B GTY. Hoping someone joins us on the cruise, but if not, we'll still have a blast. We stayed in a Cat 11 on the Wonder for a 3 day in 2009, just the 3 of us. In 2010, we were upgraded from Cat 12 to a Cat 9 when my mom sailed with us on a 4 day Wonder.

Excited to start planning! We've previously done the Sea Lion Encounter and Atlantis Aquaventure on the Nassau stops. Not sure what we'll do this time. We're thinking of trying parasailing at CC. I need to re-read, but seems like you might have to be 90 pounds to do it. I imagine neither of mine will be 90 yet since they are currently about 65 and 60 pounds each, but maybe that was minimum to ride alone?

What were you guys thinking about doing?

:cheer2:Welcome:cheer2:

My DD is also a December baby..hers is the 15th. ;)She will turn 12 right before the cruise. My due date with her was Dec 25.

Sounds like our girls will have instant friends!

When we went to Nassau, we did the walking tour, google search frommers walking tour Nassau. That was very interesting for us and it's free. At the top of the Queens staircase, there was an outdoor market too. We've done the double jet skis at CC. That was fun. We went to an outer island and the water is so clear you could see everything beneath you. We've also rented bikes. That was fun also. We biked out to the observation tower, the airstrip, and a path behind Serenity Bay. We go next month and will probably not rent anything but snorkels and do some of the planned activities on the island like the hermit crab races and play a bit more on the beach. Right now, that sounds like heaven!

Linda

Just upgraded to connecting verandahs today but not going to tell the kids till we check in. :goodvibes

I have a December birthday kiddo too, but he will have just turned 18 at the time of the cruise, and will be a HS senior. Next son will be 15, another son will be 11, and the twins at age 2.5. Fun Fun Fun!

This will be our 4th Disney Cruise, and the shortest too, but my teens have crazy busy schedules, and this just seems to be what works best. :yay:

Now to just be patient till next year. We really wanted earlier, and the ksf sounded good, but we've done the Magic in Mexico and just didn't want to do that one a 2nd time. :confused3

Wow... just looking at the CA locations for some of you... Lodi and Placerville... we are smack dab between you both! Who would've guessed it?

Hi Wendy!

Nice to see someone from so close by. I have worked in Elk Grove and driven through/by so many times with my family being in the Lodi and Stockton area. Not so much anymore, but I am very familiar with the area.

We have 2 Cat 10A's connecting for this cruise. I know all about busy schedules. I have an active freshman and a 4th grader. We are on the go constantly it seems.

Fun, fun, fun! I haven't been on a Mexico Disney cruise yet, not this next year either as we have chosen the Alaskan in July 2011! I am so excited! We leave in 2 1/2 weeks for Florida and are doing a Western. I am finishing up our FE gifts each night now.

We've never done a New Years cruise and this one seemed like a fantastic choice! and a double dip to boot!

Do you participate in the FE's and such? And this is for everyone, I have kind of started a roster going and wonder if we want to do a FE on this cruise. I would love to help with this and the general roster but there is probably someone out there who is more familiar with setting this up in some sort of data base.

Any way, I look forward to chatting with you.

Linda

My daughter turns 18 right before the cruise, too, just 15 days before! And she's a HS senior. Will your son be in the teen club or with the college age kids? My daughter is still leaning toward the teen club.

Laura, my son can't decide which group to do. He's excited to be 18 and be able to join us some evenings, but enjoyed the fun of the teen group last time. I just think he's afraid he will be so much older than the other HS youth. He may be floundering around with his decision right up until we sail.

Linda, we've been in EG since 1990. I work on and off with the school district, but am at home most of the time with the twins who are still one right now (one is special needs-long story). Since we started the process to adopt them, it is amazing how blessed yet busier we've gotten. :dance3:

Greetings All,

Well we are booked for 12/29/11 sail date. I'd like to be part of your meet group as well as the FE group (know it is a little early for that);)

Sailing will be myself BF and DD3 currently at the time of sailing 12/29/11 she will be 5, yep her Birthday is the 29th

We just got back from Breezin 2 the Bahamas, 4-day on the wonder (Sept. 26), and ready to do it all again. I would love to go this year but not sure if Santa will have a cruise in our stockings:confused3

I am not sure if anyone else will be joining us, I am trying to talk other family members into going, but if not oh well.... All aboard who's going aboard.

Well I look forward to chatting with you all,

You may see me logged in as Princessandthemommy sometimes, as I can only log into this account from this computer, but we are one in the same.

:wave2: and welcome. I am getting ready to leave on a Magic'al Western in a few days here. I had started a roster and will post it when I get back. Then we can do FE sign-ups. I think I indicated on the roster who wanted to do the FE, but we'll get it up and going in about 4 weeks unless someone wants to start it soon.

I am always trying to talk family and friends into taking a cruise with us. My sister is booked on this cruise with us and I would love to get my 2 oldest daughters and their families on it. I noticed they opened up Cat. 11B GTY. Last time I checked, there were no inside cabins left.

Anyway, talk soon!

Linda

I see so many of you are from the Bay Area, I too am originally from the bay. I consider myself a Cali girl stuck in Michigan:scared1:

I attended schools in both San Fransico and Vallejo... I sure hope someone brings some see's candy and S.F. sour-doug bread.... oh the small things I miss so much. Not to mention a good ol' bag of Belly Flops from the Jelly bell factory... lol:cloud9:

I completely understand!;)

We spent a few years in Washington State, where it seemed that the rain never stopped. Then we got transfered to Connecticut, where I felt the snow never went away. I hate cold weather! We are now back in California & enjoying every minute of it!:cloud9:

HI fellow cruisers!
Just checking in to say hello! Just think in one short year we will be ... well one year closer to our sail date!

I'm glad to see a few more cruisers, it's getting more exciting!

got a letter from Disney re our cruise. It says that there will be 3 performances each evening now in the theater. It says the following for us:
dining/show time: 830pm / 700pm

Our reservation says 2nd dining even though we asked for first....I will have to call them..
It says dining times remain the same at 6pm and 830 pm. Theatrical shows at 5pm, 7pm and 9pm

Anyone else get this letter?:confused3

We got this letter too. I didn't notice had our dining time listed... i will have to go back and look.

I find it interesting that we are both from northern CA.

I am guessing they sent it out, so you can 'plan' your other reservations around it:spa, palos, etc. I am not sure why they sent it out a whole year ahead. A couple of months would have been fine.

Mine would go through my TA, right? My sister got hers but I can't remember what her times were, I thought she said dinner at 9:00??? When I get back from Florida, I'll check on it and make sure her reservation is linked to mine.

Lucky you....at your house again?
I have to call the cruise line today....we never sign up for second seating.
Can't wait to meet you...tell your hubby we said hi!

Our shows 5 pm show and 6pm dinner. Odd that we only got one letter and we have 2 cabins (each with a different conf. number). That will be an interesting change. Fun Fun Fun.
