Disney Dream 12/19/2012

DW and I just booked this cruise on Saturday. She really took me by surprise by booking this. We actually we only 'talking' about going on a cruise, but that was for next year!!! We ended up booking one for the Fantasy in October 2013 at first. Then she said to me, "How about doing a shorter cruise at the end of this year, too?" So here we are. It will be my first time on both the Fantasy and the Dream. I will be interested in comparing both of them to the Magic and the Wonder. Now I have to go back and read the rest of the posts in this thread!!!

Yeah, we don't go into Nassau anymore. Seen it once. Went to Atlantis once. No need to go again.

We got off the first time, stayed on the second. We will stay on again. So much to do on board, we don't want to miss a minute!

Hubby and I cruised solo on the Dream in September. It is GORGEOUS. Got an upgrade to a suite on the Concierge level. Talk about being spoiled. The spa is a must! I bought my 4 days of spa time and chilled in there a LOT!!

We don't get off in Nassau anymore either. Been there done that, just like a few of you have said. I just enjoy sitting at the pool with the kids and soaking up the sun! Get a good read and nap during that day!!

We are leaving on a mini cruise the end of this month. Just a 4 day'er to Bahamas. Kids have NO IDEA!! Very excited to surprise them. Can't wait to see their faces. This cruise is on the Magic. Have a friend we met on the Wonder a few years ago and he's been on a few different ships. He is on the Magic this time and hoping he can be our server!! Has been our Barrista and bartender before! Fun times!

Need more peeps on the Fish Extender list!!!

Just got home from being out of town this weekend. Got a planning guide in the mail yesterday. Anyone else get this? All it is a summary of the cruise and what is online when you sign up for the cruise. I was sad. I thought it was the DVD that I asked for. Oh well, that should be coming soon!!!:hyper: Just a little more than 8 months to go!!!

I just got an email from my TA saying that DCL was stopping the Palo High tea in favor of more time for the brunch. Not sure how this is scheduled, since high tea is around 3pm, but maybe they need more turn over time in the kitchen. anyway, if anyone is cruising before the end of this summer, and you want to try the high tea (had it on the Magic, HIGHLY recommend!) then book it before they phase it out! I'm going on a girls' weekend cruise to nowhere out of NYC this summer and we're doing dinner then high tea the next day. as much as I love the brunch, I wanted two turns at Palo, even in such a short cruise, and couldn't imagine being able to handle two meals back to back!

have gotten a few "aren't you excited about your Dream cruise?" mailings, we love anything from them, makes the kids get excited!

We have been to WDW several times and have traveled all over the country but...........this will be our FIRST cruise ever!!!! So excited and decided to do a disney cruise. We will have a verandah room which I have never even seen since I have never set foot on any crusieship. I love to do fun creative things so I was so excited to hear about the fish extender exchange. I signed up!!! Hopefully that is ok for newbies like us.

Welcome Huey,
I am sure you will love the Dream! I have a million ideas for FE things and no idea what to pick. Too many (fun) decisions!

woot!

We have a 10 year old son too (Jack)He loves WWII, legos, Dr. Who, and Disney World....especialy toy story mania and the green army men. He plays golf and is on swim team so he should love the pool and the mini golf. How about yours?

Hello, everyone! I would love to join this group. My husband and I just took our first cruise--a four-night Bahamian on the Magic that sailed on 4/30. We are going on the 12/19 Dream cruise as a family. After my husband and I had such a wonderful trip, we can't wait to take our kids in December (we spent half our cruise saying "Ooh, the kids would love that!"). Our DS will be 10 (almost 11) when we sail, and our DD will be 8. Looking forward to getting to know all of you in the coming months!

Welcome mm22
My 10 year old son and 6 year old daughter along with 8 yr female cousin who are going are close in age and gender to yours. They should have fun.

Hey everyone. We are looking to join the group as well. We are a family of 5 and this is our 2nd Disney cruise. We did a 5-night on the Dream this past June. We made friends that will last a life-time. We are meeting 3 families for a reunion at WDW in June !!

Has anyone discussed moving to Facebook as a private group? We did that for our cruise, and it made the discussions more intimate, and a lot more fun. Any thoughts?

I'll go back through the thread for some FE info, but we would love to get in on that as well.

Anyway, good to meet you all.

Hi everyone! Seems like we are going to have a fair number of kids in the 8-12 year range. My DD will be 11 on the cruise and loves new friends! I swear it takes her about thirty seconds to decide that someone is her new best friend:rotfl:
Don't forget to sign up for the fish extender list, it was one of DD's favorite parts of our last cruise, she said 'it was like Christmas' every time she went back to the room (only this time it will be Christmas:woohoo:)
I would love to join a facebook group, does someone know how to set that up?
Can't wait for December:cheer2:
-Christine
