Disney dream - 01-30-11

Here's a strange question - do any of you crochet? I've started to learn many times and stopped. I do knit, but I thought I'd use the cruise as an opportunity to really learn. I have a book, and am watching some videos, but if there is anyone willing to help me, I'd be grateful (and buy you a drink!!)

I am so excited about the TA program on the Dream. I did one on the Wonder in 2009 and had so much fun. I only plan on going to the Straw market in Nassau. We just did 3 nights on the Wonder in Nov and went to Atlantis so I just really want to explore the ship. Can't wait to meet all the other TA's on the program.

Im excited too. just booked it with the ta program as well. I cant wait to see the ship and all my friends who are more like family who work on the ship as well

I seriously think very few people will get off the ship. I really think that the ship won't be as "dead" as a normal port day.

We're not planning to get off in Nassau either. This trip is all about the Dream. Seeing all of the pictures is getting me so excited. :woohoo:

Hi,
We're not getting off, either. DH and I have both been to the Bahamas and since my kids are 2 and 4, I think they would have more fun on the ship. I think we'll be hanging out by the pools all that day.
:)

We just booked this sailing a week ago.We were planning on just doing WDW for 10nts but couldn't resist booking this cruise.

I am SOOOOO excited:cool1::cool1:

I probably wont sleep while on the boat and by the time we get to WDW I will be exhausted.:rotfl:

We will definitely NOT be getting off at Nassau too, as we have done it on another cruise and hated it. Plus we only have 4nts on the boat and need to soak in all we can.

Looking forward to seeing everyone on the boat:banana:

I crochet but prefer to knit. I learned how to crochet first years ago but did not start knitting until after I started weaving. If you want help with your crochet, just let me know. Also if you want to learn how to drop spindle, my daughter does that. I prefer the wheel. Let me know about the drop spindle so I can tell her to bring hers.

we never get in nassau.

Dh and and aren't getting off in nassau either.. we should all try to do something together? Maybe lunch and some lunch and ship exploring as a group?

12-18 inches of snow expected in MA tomorrow which means a teacher's 2 favorite words- SNOW DAY!! (gives me all day to finish my FE and my magnets)

NOT ME DW is thinking about going to that flea market place right off the ship so if she does then thats as far as I go. Unless she finds a group to go with then its the ships life for me mattie !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
anyone for meeting at grills for breakfast before ????????????????
its just down the road from the ship.

we are getting HAMMERED with a snow storm NO school for the kiddies already. I'm hoping I don,t need to go anywhere tomorrow. Blowing and yes drifting.

Is it too late for the FE? I did not know what it was until my daughter did some research. This sounds like fun. We are two adults but we want to play.

Nope, you can join us! We have several cabins of adults only! PM me your cabin, and your info and I'll add you to the list.

:woohoo: and :guilty: at the same time!
I got the TA confirmation today so I am so excited but my DD has me sad.
I never cruise without her and plus this is The Dream!

I read the TR and looked at all the 400 pics also. thanks for the link.
Seems like alot of "kinks" to be worked out.
REALLY like (love) the free phone network. I assume this will turn into a rental instead of free?

I'm also going on the Dream. Can't wait. Is there a list of who's going? Anyone doing FE's? Anything planned/Dismeets?

Thanks,

Bev :)

Yay, snow day for you guys! I love those days. DH and DD were hoping for one on Monday but it didn't pan out:(

They are saying a cold snap for the weekend we leave for FL. Sure hope it doesn't include snow. I don't want to spend some of our vacation in an airport.

Yes, as I ran around to get gas for the snow blower, salt for the walkway, it dawned on me 3 weeks from now I would be on CC...far as I know, NO SNOW there, and I suppose even if there were..I WOULD HAVE NOTHING to do with removing it! :lmao:

looks like 12-16 here in Rhode Island!

Ugh...

Good news was I managed to get online and found Southwest airfare actually went down $50, which I now have as a credit for our August trip on the Dream, and 5 day stay at BayLakeTower. :cool1: I love Southwest Airlines!

Still contemplating what to take for clothing...never went on a cruise this time of year. Any suggestions? :confused3

I can tell you one thing. We cruised in January one other time. We weren't prepared for the cold. We actually got off the ship at CC in sweats!! It was that cold. With the weather the way it is this year I think we will be packing jeans and a sweatshirt for a safety net. Only one sweatshirt though. I have to have an excuse for a souvenir or two.:lmao::rotfl2:

I'm also with the TA education program doing seminars etc. I can't wait to be on the DREAM and learn all about the ship. Since I was confirmed yesterday, not I have to do my flight arrangements. I'm thinking of flying out on the 28th because of all the snow we have been getting, I don't want to miss the boat. Looking forward to meeting everyone .

Bev, I am also with the TA education program. So excited! I am flying in the night before, also to be on the safe side! It looks to be quite fun! Welcome! Our DIS/Travel Agent group seems to be getting bigger. Yeah!

I felt the exact same way when I got my confirmation. I was very excited but sad for my family as they will be stuck in the snow while I am in warmer weather. I am getting more excited as each day goes by and I promised to take the video camera and pictures for all to see when I get back.
