Disney dream - 01-30-11

So out of sheer curiosity - how does this AEP thing work? You apply and see if you get accepted? Is it free, or just reduced cost? What activities do they have for you? How hard would it be to sneak on your tour?:rotfl2:

TAs that have completed certian sections of our Disney College of Knowledge Training can apply.
They yes, you just wait to see if you are one of the 176 (in this AEP) that are choosen.
Only 6 from the same agency can be choosen. We have over 2,000 agents. SO I was STRESSING! LOL

We do pay but it is reduced with prepaid gratuities.

We have onboard training that we MUST attend.
As far as sneaking into the group (I know its a joke) but the tours are going to be before guests get onboard. I think we are getting on the ship for tours at 10:00 or 10:30am

Still no assignment for me either. :surfweb:

I just received an updated itinerary email that states we will be provided a map to tour the ship on our own. I am hoping that changes as I was really looking forward to seeing some of the areas our guests book (like the suites) that I normally would not get to see....

Is it just me or does it seem like we are no longer having a private tour before regular embarkation :confused3 The new itinerary now says Embarkation is at noon (tentative) and then we will be provided with a ship tour map to explore on our own :sad2:

I was really looking forward to a private tour before everyone else got on the ship :sad1:

Oh and now there is only ONE seminar and it's only 2.5 hours!!!

That's what I was thinking also. 176 people might have been too many for private tours :confused3

They also eliminated the seminar on the sea day and shortened the one on the Nassau day.

Oh no, more time to explore the ship!

LOL, I just edited my post to note the missing seminar! :lmao:

Hmmm, no private tour....only one seminar....did they get ahead of themselves here? ;):rotfl2:

Yep, sort of bummed...but hey, not too bummed...I will still be on that ship I have been watching from keel laying to launch and christening. So yeah, I am a little disappointed, but thrilled none the less...Funny, I was showing my wife the new itinerary, she said, looks to her like I am just going on a cruise without her...:rotfl2:

I also noticed we appear to be eating hamburgers for dinner at the American Adventure  Well nobody makes a burger like Mickey!:worship:

That the Rotunda will be for our group only and will be something catered.

I am dissapointed (to say the least) that the sales training is SO short. Really, I'd have liked to see splitting the group in half and doing 1 seminar for each than 1/2 as much presentation time and all of us together.

I am now considering getting off the ship in Nassau and touring Atlantis.

another thing that catches my eye (and has been there are the last several versions) is that they say where we're eating on the final night. AP. Wondering if that's correct!

Hoping the ship tour thing changes and we get to see the suites/ various types of staterooms, kids clubs (once the kids are in there we won't be allowed since we don't have kids with us), spa. On the other hand, I'd be fine with an Ipod Touch pre-loaded with a ship tour.:rotfl:

The Earmarked conference begins the 23rd. LOTS more TAs on that cruise than our AEP. Perhaps after the practice run:lmao: for our AEP they'll figure out a way to do a ship tour!

Yeah, honestly, it's the ship tour I was looking most forward to, and it would have counted for my ACC from CLIA...Oh well...Like you guys, I hope they get it figured out by next week!

Geesh, we TA's kind of hijacked this thread...pirate:

After stressing all day, finally got the stateroom #. I'm on the ship. :worship: I was looking forward to taking a ship tour. Not getting on getting off of the ship at Nassau. Not sure about Castaway. Are we doing something there? Would like to see the cabanas and get more information about them.

:cool1: Celebrating that you're on the ship!

I continue to be shocked about the ship tour...I hope that things go smoothly that morning and that they are able to get us on in smaller groups ahead of the 12 noon time.

I truly was looking forward to the Cruise Line Sales Training and the Tour...I feel like a lot has been cut out...HOWEVER...being on the Dream will help as much as anything for my clients. And unless they start selling, they may be able to show us each room type during the cruise-- there are still lots of empty cabins. ;)

It's all good. A week until I leave and I dread leaving my family and am doing a happy dance inside at the same time!:dance3:

Purchased some more FE gifts tonight. But I can't open the link sent in the last PM

I live in the South and am SO cold today. high 60s of the cruise sound really nice. I leave a week from today for my first All Star Resort stay.

It's ANTICIPATION week. Hoping everyone makes it out of the snow and on our warm cruise!:cool2:

Sat. says high of 69
Sunday high 72 maybe showers (40% so no worries, that can change!)

I was talking about this last night. It is VERY important that we see the cabins and kids clubs. IMHO anyway...
I wonder if we will be allowed in the kids clubs with our ID card? Maybe an exception? :thumbsup2
BUT I did read there is a deck area that is open only to the teens and the kids swipe their card to get in. So we would still miss that area.

Some of the changes may have to do with parading 180 travel agents onboard during the short time between cruises. Security and procedures are complicated during that time. That many people only would make it more intense. However, a 12 pm boarding time would make the TAs the earliest folks to board -- that could be an advantage too-- seeing the ship before we eat lunch.

Anyone going to have a swimsuit in the day bag to be the first on the Aqua Duck!?

Wave phones
Anyone know if you can call just your other phone OR can you call anyone on the ship?

From what I have read in Trip Reports, you can call the other phone AND any other room # on the ship. There's also pre-programmed buttons for Guest Service, etc. :thumbsup2

thanks Timon
Wasnt sure if these had replaced the reg cabin phones or not.
I like the idea, WTG disney offering them free of charge (first 2)
We were on Wonder for THanksgiving and she did not have the wave phones at that time.
