Disney dream - 01-30-11

another snow day here in MA..now it sounds like I might be lugging my laptop and posting grades on the begining of my honeymoon :(

more snow predicted for tues/wed here, up to 20 inches.. pixie dust get me on that flight thursday!

I agree, sounds like deck 10 is where we will be. As of yesterday, I am assigned to 10042!

So excited, I really hope they don't change it!

I planned o flying out on Friday to make sure I'd be there without worrying about snow. More snow last night into this morning. Last night on the news they said snow Tuesday into Wednesday but this morning they said starting Tuesday into Wednesday maybe into Thursday. :surfweb:Won't say anything else. Read you might have 20". :scared1: Wondering if I should fly out Monday before all the snow starts and FORCE myself to stay at WDW an extra week. :rotfl2: Seriously, I'm getting a little nervous about all this snow. In December 2009, coming off of a Disney Cruise and getting to SW only to find out my flight was cancelled due to 22" of snow. I didn't care. I'm a TA and had insurance. So I rebooked for 2 days later, booked a car and a hotel. Spent too much money at the Disney Store. Came home and called about my travel insurance only to find out it cancelled a week prior. :sad1:

So to everyone traveling whether you are a TA or not, if you didn't purchase any travel insurance - DO IT NOW!! It covers so much more than you cancelling your trip. If I had it, my car rental, hotel stay, airline change fees, and food (up to certain limits) would have been covered.

By the way, I still do not exist. :scared: I need lots of pixie dust

and all the pixie dust I can spare! 20 inches. In the South we'd never dig out of that, we'd just wait for the sun to come out the next day and melt it away. Hoping the sun raises the temps enough for you to get to the airport and to clear the runways!

Happy Honeymoon!

Mickeymom, did you get the confirmation email congratulating you? If so I wouldn't worry too much. (easy for me to say, huh)

I see we are supposed to get another 20 too next Tuesday - Thursday...I personally think that is good news...the present pattern calls for 3-4 days between storms, so that leaves Friday/Saturday free from flakes. :scared1:

MPeterson, are you flying out of Boston or Providence? I posted my grades yesterday...I'm done :teacher:

flying out of logan first thing thursday..problem is we're in the middle of midterm exams which keep being pushed back due to snow days.

I booked this trip 2 years ago, so a little snow isnt going to stop me now

Wondering also, do tell what type of cabins!
Got word that as of today, there are 176 agents in the AEP!!!!:thumbsup2

Have not gotten my CLIA 2011 either.
I uploaded the pic and the system refused it, sent me an email saying to regular mail the photo. Went to walmart and got a new pic and mailed it. The same same day clia emailed me that everything was ok with the 1st pic...well shoot...
Anyway, maybe WE will both get our cards next week.

I haven't gotten my card yet either. CLIA happened to have technical difficulties the week I was trying to get it, so it affected my application. :(
I am also hoping to get it in the next little bit...

How will they ever get all of us through a ship tour? On the last AEP there were 20/group for this ship tour of the Wonder and it was difficult to get everyone in and out of the suites etc. Good Grief!

NICE on the assignment.

I am assuming that say
Group #1 will be touring the kids clubs
# 2 the resturants
#3 staterooms
#4 spa
and so on. On a very well planned out rotation.

I was wondering about that too, but that sounds great!

Sounds like the AEP'ers are taking over deck 10... How awesome :cool1:
:cool1::woohoo: :thumbsup2

That is totally awesome!! I called this morning and nothing for us yet.

Eh, post the exams on the internet...work remotely. :lmao:

coach rick-- wish it worked that way!! I teach sever needs special ed, so many of my kids arent internet savy (beyond some computer games and you tube)

I think the final exam for all of my classes should be: where is Mrs. Petersen now?

BTW- How much do i love disney? I taught personal safety in health class and told my kids to "be like tigger, not eeyore" to remind them to be aware and assertive

no reservation for me yet either mickeymom....maybe today? Has anyone been able to book Palo or is it sold out for the sailing? I am pretty sure I read Remy was sold out.

Well since I am still showing a balance of $2259 for my stateroom, can't make any reservations for anything until it shows paid in full. So no, no ressies...

Ahh, Mpertersen surely understand that. I teach 12th grade computer class, so yep, it's technology and taking an online exam is part of their education. :thumbsup2

does anyone know the weather for CC or the water temp?
I'm trying to plan but without the forecast its a little hard.
Nassau is suppose to be low 70s so should I expect CC to be cooler?

As far as Palo or Remy goes they have been booked for a while.
Do they save some ressies for people on board to book? IS there still a chance for brunch?

Castaway Cay in in the Abacos area:

Hoping it warms up, but that's not awful! As it was -3 here this AM . .

So out of sheer curiosity - how does this AEP thing work? You apply and see if you get accepted? Is it free, or just reduced cost? What activities do they have for you? How hard would it be to sneak on your tour?:rotfl2:

In past cruises, they will give out more ressies the first day onboard. I forget where you have to go. I believe someone posted that information earlier on this thread. I think it was one of the clubs.

We booked the sea lion encounter, now I'm thinking it will be to cold to stand in water for 30mins!

If we cancel on the day of will we still be charged?

I asked this somewhere on these boards and was told it's the "D" lounge.
By the way, the passporter folks created a nice directory of where everything is:

yes
you have to cancel at least 3 days prior, but I believe they lock up the reservations online this next week. so I guess you still can call to cancel.
