Disney done differently, (BOG dining updates pages 202 and 203)

What sweet, sweet pictures. You can see Anakin getting into it and enjoying. Good for him.

Yes, he was very into it. Grumpy got the dance on video. He is just such a ham.

By invisible dog, do you mean those collar and leash things, or do you mean she had imaginary dogs with her?

Maybe you can share a picture of Kitty on a vacation?

According to Grace they were not imaginary. They were invisible. (Gracie logic at it's best.) Luckily their leashes, collars, food bowls, etc. were also invisible so nobody else realized that we had the dogs with us, and we hoped that anyone who understood what she was saying thought she was talking to "The Kitty".

I'm not sure how to post photos here, but there are a couple photos of "The Kitty" on facebook in our Chicago and Beijing photos from this summer.

Yes!! Included with admission! Universal and IOA have great prices on AP from time to time too!

Thanks for the compliment! I took so many pictures it's hard to pick and choose which to post. So I've been posting almost all of them except the really bad ones.

It stinks that he can't ride those attractions. But he's been pretty good about it. There are so many other things that he can do at Disney.

There's a few other things he can't do that he wants to do. He'd love to ride a bike, but even on the special needs trike he had trouble figuring out how to steer and slow it down. That thing was great! Would love to get one of them for him but boy are they expensive!!

http://www.adaptivemall.com/terspecneedt.html This is the trike he rode at therapy.

I haven't seen a good deal for IOA/US for a while now. I wish they'd offer a good deal. $100 or less for a year would be nice. Sea World had some really good deals back in the spring when I checked. Not so much right now.

The trike is pretty cool. Have you looked for a used one anywhere? You know how the girls who make clothes have a thread on here? Maybe he can make soaps and sell them to raise money for the trike?

Oh my gosh. I love the Belle pictures. They are so cute. This is her meet and greet area now? Does she still do a skit like the old story time with Belle? Everything is so pretty and your little guy is having the time of his life. These pictures...they make me smile!

I edited my post above to include these pictures of the bookmark and photopass for Enchanted Tales with Belle.

She is so cute. Did the dogs get along with Kitty?

I'll go check out your pics.

How was the cruise? Sorry it didn't work out for Wednesday. We were back home before you arrived at the resort.

I have not looked for a used one. But that is an idea. There is a website we can join to raise money for a bike for him.

Yes, this is her M&G area. The house was part of the queue! The skit is still done. Anakin was the Beast. The wardrobe and Lumiere are simply amazing!!

Anakin as the The Beast -- Now that is just awesome. Not every young fellow gets to dance with Belle! Thanks for sharing those pics.

I've been thinking about you!! How is your area doing with Sandy? My parent's lights kept flickering, but as of last night they were a little nervous but doing fine.

Thanks for taking the time to look! It was awesome! He had a blast!

Be Our Guest

We left off with Anakin as the Beast at Enchanted Tales with Belle. From here we moved onto Be Our Guest. There were ropes separating where we could go from where we couldn't go.

Here is a look at what we saw the last time we were there and it was gated closed.

Be Our Guest was gated. However the walkway up to the gate was very interesting. It was a bit intimidating too, as gargoyles greeted us.

how wonderful Anakin got picked to play the Beast! what a magical treat for him!

love the details of BoG, so beautiful! the stained glass is amazing!

happy your parents are safe and sound!

sorry about the car issues, but cars are easier to fix than people, happy Goofy wasnt hurt!

Oh, Anakins' dance with Belle brought tears to my eyes!! How perfect he got to be the Beast!!

Be Our Guest looks amazing. I love the stained glass. Utterly amazing!

Glad you folks are doing well. As we are all too familar with hurricanes and what they can do, I really feel for everyone in her path. Still really windy and cold here. Sun should pop out tomorrow. Sounds like our coast had alot of flooding and of course, some of the main roads in Outer Banks got wiped out again. Can't believe the pictures in NY City!

It was another memory maker!! Very magical, indeed!

Pictures don't do BOG justice. It was very magical watching everyone's reactions to the new restaurant.

Thanks. He ate up all the attention. He is certainly not shy!

It truely is utterly amazing! Wish I could be a little mouse in there seeing everyone's first reactions.

My parents lost electricity last night around 10, but woke up to electricity this morning. No water in their basement. Outside it is a mess of leaves and twigs.

My husband's parents in Ohio, didn't have any flooding, but they have trees down. House is fine, they are fine.

Haven't heard from my brother yet. He is near Ocean City.

The pictures and video from tv show such devastation. Heartbreaking.

Glad to hear your parents are ok and with power! Hope you hear from your brother very soon. It is a crazy storm.....who would have thought snow as well. Where is your husbands family in Ohio? I fly into Cleveland for a week on Nov 11th for a week of training.

According to Grace, The Kitty and the dogs are friends. Luckily, we haven't heard too much about the dogs lately and she didn't bring them on the cruise with her.

By the time we got checked in at the hotel and had something to eat it was almost 4:00. Everything seemed to take longer than normal on Wednesday, for some reason, so I was glad you weren't waiting for us. I know how impatient Grace can get when she's waiting and I assume Anakin probably isn't much better at waiting than she is.

The cruise wasn't quite what we expected since we weren't able to get in to any ports and spent the three days chasing? avoiding? the hurricane. The pools and the aquaduck were closed most of the time, too, which did not go over well with Miss Gracie. Overall, though, it wasn't a bad cruise. We loved the shows, the food and the break from reality. The waves only got really rough Saturday night. The rest of the time the motion wasn't too bad.

Grace loved the kids clubs, and they were great with her. They were not phased at all by the epilepsy or the autism. As long as she's young enough for the Oceaneers Club and Lab (12 and under I think it is) I can see cruises being great for her. Once she's too old for them and has to go to the tweens or teens clubs, we might have to re-think things, though, since I would not be comfortable with her being able to sign herself in and out of the clubs or with her wandering around the ship on her own. Megan (at 11 1/2) was fine with that on this cruise, but Grace is very young for her age. She'll be 9 next month and still has no sense of safety in parking lots or on the street and it way too trusting of people. Socially/emotionally she's more like a 5 or 6 year old.

Like Anakin, she can't ride a bike--although she does have one with training wheels that she tries to ride sometimes. At one of her physio appointments I mentioned that I wasn't sure what we were going to do when she outgrew this bike because I didn't think she'd be rid of the training wheels before then. The therapist mentioned that it was possible to get training wheels for larger bikes. I don't know if that would be a possibility for Anakin or if he needs the added support of the trike. At this point, I don't know if we'll go for the larger training wheels for Grace or if we will look into getting her a special needs bike/trike sometime over the next few years. Her balance will probably be the deciding factor for us.

Love the pictures from Be Our Guest. Buzz posted some on his facebook page today...so exciting.

We made out fine -- never lost power (just a few flickers) and no trees down (and when you live in the middle of a state forest, that's amazing).

My parents on the Delaware coast, not so good. They will go home tomorrow (Wednesday) to assess damage. We may be heading down there tomorrow if they need help.

I heard that Lancaster county was one of the hardest hit areas in PA. Isn't that where your folks are?

So many things to comment on, I only hope I remember them all.

The bookmark is so cool! Lucky Anakin! The photopass card is cute!

The tricycle is pricy. Wow! Scotty's bff owns a bike shop. They are all so expensive.

Love Be our Guest. So pretty.

I am glad to hear your parents are okay. I hope you hear from your brother. I am sure the phone lines are all busy right now.

We use to sail in Sept, I remember the pools being closed on several cruises. The worse was the cruise we couldn't stop at Castaway Cay. We just got to see it from a distance as boats came to and from the ship delivering supplies to the island because the island had sustained damage the week before our cruise.

Anakin would totally need a trike. He just doesn't understand about steering
AND peddling or breaking. He can do one but not the other. His feet get stuck in peddling mode. The therapist always had to hold onto the bar attatched to the trike. He had a big wheel at home with a stick too.

I hope she can figure out the balance of riding a bike.

He is the same with safety. Once at church and twice at acting class he followed people out of the building. He didn't realize they were going to their parents outside. He thought they were going to the next station. Now we have a designated place to meet at the theater. And I'm going to check out a different church tomorrow. They have a buddy program for special needs children. A buddy will take him to his Sunday school class. Help him with any writing or reading. And when they switch to the worship service the buddy will take him there and stay with him until one of us come and get him. If he gets too overstimulated he will be taken to a special needs room where there are legos, puzzles, Bible lesson, etc. The buddies are actually a paid position at this church and they undergo drug testing, backround checks and have to meet certain criteria.

Thanks! I know I saw those pictures he posted! The food looked interesting. One of those strawberry cupcakes has my name on it! I wonder what the dish was that had the shrimp in it?

So glad that you made it through the storm ok.

Sorry to hear about your parents house. I hope the damage isn't bad. We still haven't heard from my brother, but if he doesn't have power or cell phone towers aren't working, perhaps that's why? My parents don't live in Lancaster county. I use to. They said the same thing, that Lancaster got hit hard.

Tink, those pics are AMAZING, I can't wait to see it all and I will tell Lisa JJ got to be the BEAST!I know you understand why I have been MIA. I just wanted to stop by and say
