Disney done differently, (BOG dining updates pages 202 and 203)

love all the magic Anakin received!
we've never eaten at Columbia House...might have to try it this trip!

I got the fish!!! Same fish at DHS in the Commissary, and it's pretty good, for fried fish. I'm picky with my fish too....my dad has me spoiled, growing up on freshly catched fish!!! :) Really yummy there. I was a little taken back that they changed the menu, but that lobster roll looked good too. Choices, choices!!!

Great updates, Tink. Love the photo with Princess Tiana and Anakin. And what great pixie dust to start your day. Tell Anakin I love the "Mickey" sparkles too (I collect them at our meals when they put them on the table for our anniversary.

The pixie dust kept coming in different ways the whole time!! Maybe he can give you some if we get to see you during your stay? That's great that you've gotten Mickey sparkles for you anniversary meals! We got them once for a birthday lunch at the Plaza Restaurant!

Since you don't care for seafood your options are limited there. They do have chicken strips though! I think there is also a vegetarian option too.

You did learn something new about the Columbia Harbour House when we were there. They have great sweet tea, but it's not on the menu. Makes me wonder what other counter service restaunts serve that aren't on THIER menus?

My boys have me spoiled too when it comes to fresh fish. And my father-in-law has a smoker. I love his smoked trout!

LOVE Columbia Harbor House...very good.

Don't you miss the clam chowder in a bread bowl? They still have that great clam chowder, but I enjoyed eating the soggy bread bowl too!!

This, Cosmic Rays and The Plaza are where we eat the most at MK.

Yes, I loved that clam chowder in the soggy bread bowl. And I agree with you on your choices -- Cosmic Rays and The Plaza. I am not a Pecos Bill fan at all, and since Pinocchio Village Haus went Pizza and Salad, not for me anymore.

Tyler likes Pecos Bills for the cheeseburgers. But of course he'll take the chicken any day!! I used to get the chicken and fish at CHH, which was what I was looking for. Good thing Tyler ate too many doughnuts on the way over and wasn't hungry, I did get chicken and fish!!! LOL

Yep, sweet tea, that's SOOOOO much better than diet soda. I'll definitely remember that for next time. Last time I had the taco salad at Pecos, the meat was gritty. Didn't sit well with me. And Tink, the only problem with me and tea, it's just like water, goes RIGHT thru me!!! LOL I spend more time in the potty!! Maybe I should include THOSE in my quest!! LOL Include all the potties!! HAHA

We use to go to the Pinocchio Village Haus for milkshakes and Figaro fries. I don't think they have either?

The milk shake use to come in a clear plastic cup with an image of the castle in white. We have a few of those cups left at home. Brings back sweet memories of vanilla shakes while watching IASW from the windows.

So they don't have the chicken and fish combo? I was planning on the tuna. If I couldn't get it on white, then I was going for the lobster roll.

I'm not much of a burger eater. When we get one at Cosmic Rays, I usually just eat a quarter of Goofy's, if I'm not very hungry. Usually at Cosmic Rays, though, I get the rotisserie chicken, green beans and garlic mashed potatoes! YUM!! The burger line opens earlier than the other lines. So we had a burger the day Anakin got his hair cut. It was too early for lunch in the other lines.

When I was pregnant with Anakin, I think I found all of them!

That tuna sandwich looked amazing.

Is there a bicycling club in your dad's area? If so maybe someone would ride with him.

After lunch, Tyler and bouncycat went to HM. Anakin wanted no part of it this time. So we walked around and stayed cool while they went on HM. Met them back near Columbia Harbour House and Tyler was game for Tomorrowland.

Our first stop was the store that is the exit for Stitch's Great Escape. Tyler wanted to look at the merchandise. He bought a very cool lego set! Anakin was enthralled by the Stitch in the ceiling. We have been in that store many times, but he never noticed Stitch before.

There was more magic at Buzz Lightyear, both for Anakin then and myself later.

While on Buzz Lightyear, the attraction stopped us in the first room. Anakin hit one target in particular 10 times and his score was 999,999!!! For the first time EVER he got the highest score you can get!! So did Goofy!!

Way to go Anakin with the high score! I don't think I've ever seen that Stitch hanging from the ceiling (although I avoid Stitch most of the time).

The time before we saw Chip and Dale with a photopass photographer. This time we saw Chip and Dale, but no photographer. Both Tyler and Anakin were more concerned about Tyler's Lego purchase than Chip and Dale, but we went to see them anyway. So glad we did, love the picture!!

We saw Buzz Lightyear was out too, and decided to visit him AFTER a ride on the TTA/people mover. The 5 of us fit into a car. Tyler and bouncycat across from us.

While we were on the TTA I noticed Buzz Lightyear leaving. We didn't know if we should stick around for a bit and wait or not. I spotted a manager and we went over there to ask him if he knew when Buzz would be back. He took us in the store and had someone call to ask. 6:30pm was the answer. That was hours away!

Turned out the manager I spoke with was from my hometown in PA!! And went to the same high school.

Anakin was fine about not seeing Buzz, but he was not ok with what happened next. He was holding a love bug who had lost its partner.

Somehow Goofy bumped it and it died. Grief hit in like you would not believe. I tried to sidetrack him by going to the arcade while Goofy, bouncycat and Tyler rode Space Mt. He wasn't interested in the arcade, his mind was on one thing only, lovebugs. Those horrible little creatures were EVERYWHERE that morning. In fact, he almost invaded people's personal spaces by reaching for them on people's clothes. We pulled him back explaining it was inappropriate. He jumped out of his chair at the ferry when we arrived and would have bumped into people if we weren't there to stop him. He was completely oblivious to everything other than those icky bugs.

So while they rode the ride, I took him outside to find another one. There wasn't a lovebug in sight. I'm sure to any onlooker he looked like a spoiled brat. He fastened himself into the convaid cruiser using the 5-point harness and begged me to strap in his feet. I knew I had to side track him soon, he was starting to dig his fingernails into his skin for deep pressure. Mr. Hyde was starting to show his side as Dr. Jeckyl was disappearing like the lovebugs did.

I got him back to the arcade, figured their ride soon had to be over. I pulled up to the basket ball machine and put in the quarter. He didn't want any part of it until I reached down to play. He played and forgot all about the lovebugs.

Before he finished the game, they were off the ride. We stuck around the arcade for a bit, then bouncycat and her son headed over to DHS to ride Rock and Roller and Tower of Terror. We decided to leave the park after stopping for an icecream sandwich at the Bakery. Unfortunately, Anakin remembered about the lovebugs. He was calm and it was a good time to go over his social stories about anger. In particular, he likes one that talks about how Jedis don't get angry, because anger and fear are from the dark side. With a much calmer child, we headed towards Main Street.

I love the Chip and Dale picture. How adorable that is.

You are amazing in handling Anakin's meltdowns. I can imagine that a lot of it is trial and error. Yay Jedis!!
