Disney done differently, (BOG dining updates pages 202 and 203)

yeah, no having to recharge or freeze or switch out. just have ice water in the bag and it pumps it around the tubes. that second one you linked looks nice too.

hopefully the first one works well enough for him. :thumbsup2

I'll see how it goes with the $55 one. I really wish we had it for today. It's another scorcher!

HOW did I miss Anakin's Birthday?!? I am SOOO sorry, it looks like a MARVELOUS time though!

I hope you had FUN!!!!

Thanks for the birthday wishes! We had fun.

Happy Easter, everyone!!

We are hoping to hit Epcot's Easter Egg Hunt after church. It's a scorcher out today. I could really use that cooling vest for Anakin. Will bring plenty of frozen water bottles if he needs it. Besides waiting in line for the hunt, we will do things inside. We've already spent hours in Innoventions doing everything there. It's nice and cool there and often overlooked by tourists. It is hard to get the kids out of there once we get started.

Grumpy has mastered every room in Where's the Fire. He has a photographic memory and it's quite amazing when he chooses to use it. When he use to be in school plays he was always one of the first to have his lines memorized. Of course, he didn't just know his lines, but he had all the lines memorized.

He has had to quit football this spring. He has mild cerebral palsy and his muscles have been spasming lately. Presently he can't fun, and in football you need to be able to run. I know he is bummed. And we hope this time of spasms passes quickly. The docs won't give him muscle relaxers because it would make him too sleepy and his spasm aren't consistent. They come and go periodically. He's been having problems since Dec. Went out for flag football in Feb and couldn't run. Tackle football spring training started last week, and he was so sad to be missing it. If ya'll can keep him in your thoughts and prayers for the spasms to stop and him to play again, that would be great!

Have a great Easter.

Hi Tink, I've got a few pages to catch up on (I think) but I wanted to send Happy Easter wishes to you and the family.

Here's some Easter pin pics that I think Anakin might get a kick out of since you said he's so big into pin trading now.

Love the pins!! I think we might actually have the Stitch eating the bunny pin. My husband was really big into collecting Stitch and Haunted Mansion pins, Grumpy collected Pluto and Chip and Dale. I can remember sitting at the computer to buy those Disney Auction LE pins, and we had to buy a faster computer because ours wasn't fast enough to win those, lol! That computer was a great one, lasted up until Friday morning when it suddenly died. Grumpy heard some zapping early in the morning. We couldn't figure out what it was at first. Eventually discovered it was the computer.

I hope all of you had a Happy Easter!

I'll keep Grumpy in my prayers that he will be able to play football again - that must be rough on him not being able to play.

How did your Easter Egg Hunt go? I bet you had fun! :goodvibes

We ended up going to the Bass Pro Shop's Easter Egg hunt first. Then we were hungry and stopped by TGI Fridays to eat. Then we were off to Epcot's Easter egg hunt. We got there too late to get a spot for the 4:40pm or the 5pm egg hunt. He ended up in the stand-by line for the 5pm egg hunt. There was no garuntee he'd get in, and I knew his little heart would be broken if he didn't. But he was able to get in through stand-by! He was also able to meet the Easter bunny and Mrs. Bunny! While Grumpy played Where's the Fire at Innoventions and rode TT twice. The park was surprisingly empty! I was expecting crowd levels of 10 and I'd rank it at about a 4. Maybe earlier it was more busy?

I am going to PM you how to post the gif pictures...hope it will make sense!

Thanks, got the pm. Will have to give it a try!

I hope all of you had a Happy Easter!

Thanks for the prayers! The egg hunt went well! I need to download the pics and I'll post them.

Our Disney adventures started late yesterday. TP listed the parks as 10's so I was concerned about getting into a park. MK and Epcot were listed as the parks to avoid. So we decided to go to the Bass Pro Shops Easter egg hunt before we went to Epcot. Our original plan when we set out from home was to hit the Bass Pro Shop, go to CSR's Pepper Market for lunch, then Epcot. But it didn't end up that way.

We arrived at the Bass Pro Shop around 1:15pm. The egg hunt began at 1pm. We registered Anakin and he got his Easter bag and was off to hunt for 5 eggs through out the store.

100_1815.jpg

Once he found his 5 eggs, it was back to the registration line to turn in the 5 empty eggs for 5 filled eggs. While back in the line he was explaining to the people in front of us what they needed to do to find their 5 eggs. He was showing them which area had the most eggs.

100_1817.jpg

Next it was on to make the craft.

100_1820.jpg

Grumpy had a gift card, so he was shopping for himself.

100_1826.jpg

Next stop was TGI Fridays. Here is where our plans changed. Grumpy wanted Cajun chicken and shrimp instead of eating at CSR. Anakin was hungry and he said he couldn't wait another minute to eat. I didn't really care where we ate, I was getting hungry too. I would have been fine at Taco Bell or McDonald's. It was hard passing by all the restaurants on I-drive. Cici's, Red Lobster, Fudruckers, Denny's, etc. all looked good! We ended up at the TGI Fridays at Cross Roads.

Anakin learned to shoot straw paper. He saw a kid do this last time we ate at Fridays so he had to try it.

100_1829.jpg

The restaurant was surprisingly empty. The whole time we were there, there were only 2 tables filled in our section. There were alot of servers, so they much have expected crowds. Our food came quickly!

After a super late lunch, we were off to Epcot.

I was prepared for hoards of people at Epcot. The parking lot was surprisingly not full. Half of the lot was packed. But the other half was not. We were parked in the front section near the tram drop off. Just behind the handicapped parking. We were happy about that!

It began to drizzle as soon as we got out of the car. I grabbed my umbrella, but didn't open it because the rain felt great since it was hot outside. It was now overcast which dropped the temps quite a bit. With the drizzle it felt very comfortable outside!

Anakin did not feel comfortable! He didn't like the rain hitting his arms and legs. We brought his stroller, but the canopy doesn't work any more, it's broken. So I had a sun hat on him and he wanted sunglasses so the rain didn't get in his eyes. Funny how he forgot about the rain as soon as we got in the gate and he saw CM with trading pins, lol!

100_1830.jpg

He traded for a Mickey Mouse pin. He got a pin book for his birthday and a bunch of trading pins. He put all his pins in his trading book. He organized it so that his keepers are in a different part of his book than the traders.

Spaceship Earth was walk on, no line.

m8zrqv.jpg

He found more cm with pins at the DVC booth. They also gave him stickers. You should have seen his face! He was expecting 1 sticker and this cm kept going and going with the stickers! He was in sticker shock!

100_1834.jpg

Next we were off the American pavillion to check out the Easter festivities. As I mentioned previously, we had missed the registration for the egg hunt. All the tickets were distributed for the day. The cm said he could stand in the standby line but there was no guarantee he would get in. I knew this would break his heart, so we stood in the Easter bunny line instead. The little girl in front of us went over to the standby line and she got in for the 4:40 egg hunt. So I stood with Anakin in the standby line for the 5pm egg hunt while Goofy stayed in the Easter bunny line.

All day it had been bothering Anakin about the Easter bunny. He wants to know if the bunny is real or not. We have never lied to him about the Easter bunny or Santa. We have always said we are the Easter Bunny, Toothfairy and Santa, but he has never believed us. He thinks we are teasing him. While we were in the egg hunt line, the Easter bunny came out. He exclaimed really loud that it's a costumed bunny not the real Easter bunny! The cm told him it's the real deal. But he didn't think he wanted any part of seeing them. I told him that his Meme loves the yearly pics of him with the Easter bunny so we should see them for his Meme's picture. He agreed.

He was one of the first 3 children allowed into the Egg hunt.

100_1840.jpg

After the egg hunt we got back into the Easter bunny line. The line wasn't long, but the bunnies had to take breaks frequently. They took 2 breaks in the time that we were there. By the end of the 2nd break we were the 3rd family in line. He brought his Easter bunny Duffy to meet them.

100_1846.jpg

100_1847.jpg

By this time, Grumpy was done at Where's the Fire and had rode TT twice. Both times he went in the single rider line and both times he walked up right into a car with no waits!! He said the standby line was fairly long, out the door. He met up with us at the American Pavillion.

100_1862.jpg

Next we were on our way into the Karamel Kuche shop. This was the emptiest I have ever seen the shop. Only Grumpy got a treat. He got a chocolate covered krispie. The cm was busy making chocolate dipped marshmellows. Anakin quoted a line from HOP, "not enough marsh, too much mellow." Or something like that.

There was no wait for us to ride the Mexico attraction. I took pics along the way of La Cantina line and Spaceship Earth again on the way out.

All cash registers were manned at La Cantina, but there weren't many customers!

I will post more Flower Festival pics later. There a new topiary that wasn't there the end of March!

Every now and then I see something at the parks I missed before. Yesterday it was a Mater topiary. As we stood there looking at it, we really had to think back a couple weeks and try to remember if it was there before. Nope, we remembered the picture we had taken before had just Lightning McQueen.

Here is the McQueen AND Mater topiaries.

Another unusual site I had never seen before is an out of order bench at Germany. I've seen wet paint signs on benches, but never a roped off, out of order bench.

Anakin realized that he hadn't picked 5 eggs during the egg hunt, he had picked up 4. So he started to panick. They had already put everything away, but he insisted he had to look to see if there were any eggs left behind. While he was looking I took pics of the flowers. I loved the flower bed. I thought that was an awesome idea! He did not find any additional eggs, but a little girl did. He was happy for her, but sad for himself. I was actually quite surprised and very happy that he shared her joy.

The Nelsons were at the American Garden Theater. My mom loves them! While everyone else was pining for Elvis, she was pining for Ricky Nelson. We didn't stay to watch. But if my parents had been here, I can be sure they would not have just walked by as we did!

dvpqbn.jpg

As I mentioned several times, the crowds were very small. With small crowds come less carts opened. I was surprised to see the pizza cart and the slushy station both closed.

We stopped at MouseGears for Anakin to do more pin trading in the airconditioning, on our way out of the park. While he was trading, I took some pics of the Duffy merchandise. Those huge bears gave me sticker shock at $75!! I was surprised not to see any of the Easter Duffy bears. Good thing we got Anakin's before Easter day.

LOVED THIS!!! We always did this and the straw curl trick as children. Often the straws have pinpricks in them now so you can't blow them.

I loved all of the pictures and the PURE JOY on Anakin's face is PRICELESS!!

I would love a pin trading book, they are so nice and organized!

Looks like you guys had a fabulous Easter. Eliza's on my lap looking at your pics with me and she's quite jealous that Anakin got to hunt for eggs outside - it poured all day here and she was really annoyed at hunting for eggs indoors. :)

I love him telling everyone at the Bass shop what to do with the eggs! :cutie:

Epcot sounds wonderful - never would have guessed crowds would be that low on Easter - that's awesome. The egg hunt looked really cute and yes, that flower bed is adorable!!

I love, love, love the look on his face with all those stickers too - pure joy!! :cloud9:

I laughed out loud at the "out of order" bench. That sounds really funny when you're talking about something like a bench.

He looks so chubby in this picture with his cheeks puffed out blowing.

Goofy found the pin trading book on ebay. It is plain black, no Disney emblems or anything. I think he paid $20 for it.

I can just picture Eliza's annoyed expression! She is so cute! Anakin has seen some of the pics from your TR and there are some new things he'd like to try after seeing your children having fun.

He is always the little professor, trying to teach people and help them out. It embarrasses Grumpy sometimes. We have a signal where I tap his shoulder to end his monologues, or he could go on explaining stuff to people all day! And he does it with such drama and expression since he is really into it.

That out of service bench cracked us up. We stood there gawking for a bit, then walked away. As we were walking away, Goofy said, "what? You're not taking a picture of this too?" So I went back and took the pic, lol!

I got Mickey Mail yesterday, 2 of the same thing. It was odd Mickey Mail. Odd because it was mail to help me plan my very fist WDW vacation. The first was to plan my very first WDW vacation this May. It contained info about Pop Century. The 2nd was to plan my very first WDW vacation, and it contained info POFQ for Sept.

We have stayed at Pop 4 times, this will be our 5th. We have never stayed at POFQ, this will be our first, unless I can get a room at CSR. I've tried to switch but CSR is booked.

I am trying to get excited about FQ. All the rooms have been refurbished to Queen size beds, so that will be nice. I think the small, quaintness will be great for Anakin. He is worried about the masks at the food court. We've eaten there a few times when we stayed at POR. He says they freak him out. At least here we will get 20% off food and drinks with out Tables in Wonderland card. At CSR only the Maya Grill was included with TIW. I am looking forward to boat rides to DTD. The only request I've made for FQ is first floor or near elevator.

We love Pop Century. I've requested to be in the big wheel section. That is Grumpy's favorite section. There are 2 spots near there on the lake where security told him he could fish. He is hoping to score something big. Although with alligator mating season upon us, he will have to be more careful fishing.

It's also the dreaded lovebug season now. We saw a few the other day, and yesterday walking out our front door there were a bunch of lovebugs. Anakin got his bug collector cage and started to collect them. He freed them all a few minutes later. To him they are like collecting lightning bugs. He wishes we had lightning bugs in Florida.

I got more Mickey mail today. This time if was a Photopass. It feels very flimsy compared to the photopasses we get in the parks, has my name on it.

I'm looking forward to the SSW photopasses! That was a great souvenEAR last year! And it contained extra pictures of Star Wars weekend things!

Grumpy has a really big test this morning. He could use some extra prayers and pixie dust!

Anakin has physical therapy and occupational therapy today.

We are hoping later this afternoon/early evening to head to DTD and check out the newly refurbished Lego store. I was reading this on allears yesterday
http://land.allears.net/blogs/guestblog/2011/04/disney_world_whats_new_whats_n.html
and was thinking it would be nice to check it out. Anakin got Disney gift cards for his birthday. I don't think he can use them at the Lego Store, but they do give us 10% off with our annual pass, and there are other plenty of other stores he can use to redeem his gift cards.

I'd really like to end the evening with a quick visit to see Bob Jackson's show at POR's River Roost.

That's what I'd like to do today, but who knows if that will actually happen?
