I was prepared for hoards of people at Epcot. The parking lot was surprisingly not full. Half of the lot was packed. But the other half was not. We were parked in the front section near the tram drop off. Just behind the handicapped parking. We were happy about that!
It began to drizzle as soon as we got out of the car. I grabbed my umbrella, but didn't open it because the rain felt great since it was hot outside. It was now overcast which dropped the temps quite a bit. With the drizzle it felt very comfortable outside!
Anakin did not feel comfortable! He didn't like the rain hitting his arms and legs. We brought his stroller, but the canopy doesn't work any more, it's broken. So I had a sun hat on him and he wanted sunglasses so the rain didn't get in his eyes. Funny how he forgot about the rain as soon as we got in the gate and he saw CM with trading pins, lol!
He traded for a Mickey Mouse pin. He got a pin book for his birthday and a bunch of trading pins. He put all his pins in his trading book. He organized it so that his keepers are in a different part of his book than the traders.
Spaceship Earth was walk on, no line.
He found more cm with pins at the DVC booth. They also gave him stickers. You should have seen his face! He was expecting 1 sticker and this cm kept going and going with the stickers! He was in sticker shock!
Next we were off the American pavillion to check out the Easter festivities. As I mentioned previously, we had missed the registration for the egg hunt. All the tickets were distributed for the day. The cm said he could stand in the standby line but there was no guarantee he would get in. I knew this would break his heart, so we stood in the Easter bunny line instead. The little girl in front of us went over to the standby line and she got in for the 4:40 egg hunt. So I stood with Anakin in the standby line for the 5pm egg hunt while Goofy stayed in the Easter bunny line.
All day it had been bothering Anakin about the Easter bunny. He wants to know if the bunny is real or not. We have never lied to him about the Easter bunny or Santa. We have always said we are the Easter Bunny, Toothfairy and Santa, but he has never believed us. He thinks we are teasing him. While we were in the egg hunt line, the Easter bunny came out. He exclaimed really loud that it's a costumed bunny not the real Easter bunny! The cm told him it's the real deal. But he didn't think he wanted any part of seeing them. I told him that his Meme loves the yearly pics of him with the Easter bunny so we should see them for his Meme's picture. He agreed.
He was one of the first 3 children allowed into the Egg hunt.
After the egg hunt we got back into the Easter bunny line. The line wasn't long, but the bunnies had to take breaks frequently. They took 2 breaks in the time that we were there. By the end of the 2nd break we were the 3rd family in line. He brought his Easter bunny Duffy to meet them.
By this time, Grumpy was done at Where's the Fire and had rode TT twice. Both times he went in the single rider line and both times he walked up right into a car with no waits!! He said the standby line was fairly long, out the door. He met up with us at the American Pavillion.
Next we were on our way into the Karamel Kuche shop. This was the emptiest I have ever seen the shop. Only Grumpy got a treat. He got a chocolate covered krispie. The cm was busy making chocolate dipped marshmellows. Anakin quoted a line from HOP, "not enough marsh, too much mellow." Or something like that.
There was no wait for us to ride the Mexico attraction. I took pics along the way of La Cantina line and Spaceship Earth again on the way out.
All cash registers were manned at La Cantina, but there weren't many customers!
I will post more Flower Festival pics later. There a new topiary that wasn't there the end of March!
