Disney done differently, (BOG dining updates pages 202 and 203)

WOW...congratulations to Grumpy :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo: you must be one proud mama :goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes
that does seem like a look for the graduation....how many kids are there? maybe you could so a little investigation on the other costs!
hope Goofy will get the day off, I'm sure someone will switch, after all its not every day your son graduates high school AND is the valadictorian :goodvibes
when is his graduation?

I am proud! And out of how many is what I asked the administrator. He said don't let the number of students take away stigma from his accomplishment. He said he worked hard for all these years and deserves the same recognition as if he went to a large school.

JJ looks ABSOLUTELY adorable in his uniform and so happy and sweet!:love: it! My prayers continue for you all!

CONGRATULATIONS to Grumpy, that is AWESOME!!! I know you are one proud Mama, as you should be! :goodvibes:goodvibes

LOVED all of the Sorcerer Mickey Game stuff and the great pics. AWESOME job getting all of the cards! :thumbsup2

I am NOT a handbag girl, but one of these days Lisa is going to find her Rosetta missing, I am just saying...:rolleyes1

Certainly appreciate all the prayers!

We are proud of him!

I have plenty of handbags, but mostly use a back pack.

Lol! I guess Lisa is forewarned!

I love you Judy, but not that much to give you my bag and I will fight you to keep it....so be warned :lmao: but who knows maybe the pixie dust fairy might send you one some day ;) so you better be a good girl "she's watching, always watching"

I was about to comment on your post last night when dh needed the computer. Sorry it's taking me so long to get back to you.

This appointment next week can't come soon enough! After the rough night, I called the new neuro. Their office said that we should get a prescription for diastat from the neuro or his ped. Both refused saying that if he needs emergency meds he should go to ER. The new neuro's office couldn't believe this. So it sounds like once we start there he will be getting emergency meds to keep on hand. Obviously they couldn't write for it without seeing him at the new office. As I mentioned above he was placed on a wait list. He is 2nd on the list.

Last night I saw Lion King was on one of the channels. I asked him if he wanted to watch it. He refused saying he hates the circle of life. Both Grumpy and Goofy offered to get him a new fish to replace this one. It upset him that's they'd suggest such a thing. "A life can't be replaced," he said.

I had to explain to him that we understand each fish is unique. That they didn't really mean it would replace his fish, but more that they were asking if he wanted a new fish that could use the other fish's tank. Oh this black and white thinking gets complicated at times!!

Last night we had a mostly seizure free sleep. There were a couple seizures but they only lasted a few seconds each. This morning he had some myoclonic twitching. I was able to catch it on video on my phone. So I'll be able to show the hand twitches and facial tics to the epileptologist this week! In the past, I was never able to capture it and tried to explain it verbally.

The day before my birthday, I had hinted once again to Goofy what a great gift a Harveys bag would make. He gave in! D helped me pick it out!

Hope the new dr can figure out a better med for him to stop the seizures :goodvibes
oh poor little guy, hard for him to understand, feel so sad for him, maybe he'll feel better in a few days and want to get a new friend for his tish tank!

Yay you got it....how exciting for you! hope you enjoy it!

It sounds like this new neuro is on top of it. I sure hope so. I think it is a good idea to have emergency meds on hand.

I have a daughter who is extremely smart and when she was little she would ask us question that were totally out in the stratosphere. They were always things that you could not easily answer and you couldn't give her an easy answer either because she would keep asking until she heard answer she liked or believed. We had to learn to think on our feet. It sounds to me that you have to be the same way with Anakin. I think that you must be a very patient person and that your sons are very lucky to have you.

So which bag did you get?

Before I forget congratulations to Grumpy!!

yes, yes I am :rotfl:

Yesterday was an emotional roller coaster for him. There were a couple times he went bouncing and flapping in excitement. He didn't know what he was excited about though when I asked him, lol. You know about the DVD incident where he got totally panicked that he couldn't find his DVD. The case was empty and he had all kinds of bad thoughts running through his head as to what happened to his DVD. Remember I told you it had been hours and I was losing patience? Well he wore himself out with all the panic and anxiety, and laid on the couch. When Goofy came home he had it in his hand. It was in his car at work the whole time, inside a different dvd case. Would you beleive he didn't even watch it last night after all that?! He said he just needed to know where it was. He is so lucky I have patience and understanding. Not many people would be able to put up with these meltdowns and panic attacks. I'm sure there is probably a medication that would help level his moods, but I'm not sure how I feel about that. I sure hate seeing him so miserable and I know how stressed out he makes me at times. I think medicating him would probably be more beneficial to me, than to him.

You know that old poem that goes, "there was a little girl who wore a little curl right down the middle of her forehead, when she was good she was very very good, when she was bad she was horrid."

That's him the last 2 weeks. Every emotion intensified. I guess you could call him a "drama king". He is very dramatic right lately.

It sounds like this new neuro is on top of it. I sure hope so. I think it is a good idea to have emergency meds on hand.

Yes! Learning to think on my feet. I'm not that great at improv, lol!

Updating coming right away about the bag!

Thanks for the congrats!

This day of my TR is a very special day. Disney just knew I was celebrating my birthday. In my honor, they were kind enough to have the first day of soft opening for the new Fantasyland Expansion!!! But I didn’t know this until a bit later on this day.

The original plan was to have my birthday lunch at Le Chefs de France then head over to the MK. But I knew that D was going to be at DTD with the girls shopping. I texted her in the morning to see what her lunch plans were. She didn’t have definitive plans, but knew she either wanted to eat at EoS or WPE. We decided to meet up at EoS!! I cancelled Le Chefs ADR, which made Goofy very happy. He doesn’t like eating there. He feels the atmosphere is too stuffy and he prefers laid back. He suddenly was in a good mood so I sprung the idea of getting a Harveys bag. He agreed to it, with the reminder not to forget to use the PAP for the discount. I texted D and asked if she and the girls would help me pick out the right bag. She was excited to help!

Victoria was playing in the fountains when we arrived. The poor girl froze through lunch. Goofy and Anakin were able to snag a huge table for us indoors. The temp inside EoS was cold even if you weren’t wet.

I didn’t take pics of the food. We got our usuals, tunamelts for me and Goofy and a pizza sandwich for Anakin. Though in line I was discussing trying something different. The line was long but moved quickly.

Once we were seated and eating Anakin was non-stop chatter. He gave the girls a lesson about anything and everything. He talked their ears off. They thought he was so cute and got a kick out of him. He loved them and the attention they were giving him.

We split up after lunch. I went with D and the girls to TrenD. Getting a cm to help us was difficult. When I did get someone’s attention, she passed the duty to someone else who was very grumpy and not very Disney-like. She made it seem such a chore to help us. I had planned to check out the messenger bag. This is the link to the messenger bag. I don’t remember what the cm said about opening the case, but in a nut shell she told us to move it so she can get in the case.

The strap was odd. Rather than being located in the enter of the bag, it was located in the back of the bag. I thought this would make it feel off center and both D and I said we didn’t like the strap. But after D adjusted the straps to fit me, and I tried it on, it laid so nicely! But we were still unsure of the straps. So we asked to see another bag.

The next bag I tried was an over the shoulder bag. This bag was much heavier than the messenger bag. The straps were evenly centered. D loved the woven style of it better than the messenger bag. But if I wore it cross body, it didn’t lay right and stuck out funny. She didn’t like the way it looked on me either.

http://www.seatbeltbags.com/dicotomi.html

So it was the messenger bag that won out!!

Next stop…the Lego Store to find the guys.

Thank goodness D thought about taking a picture. Up to this point I didn’t take any. Here are the lovely ladies and Anakin.

Next up...Fantasyland Soft Opening!!!

YAY!!! This day was sooo much fun!!! Everyone knows I am a bag freak - so picking out a new bag for your birthday was just totally fantastic!!! I hope you are still loving it. :surfweb:

Ani was so adorable! He was definately a talker - for once, I don't think my girls got a word in edgewise. LOL He totally stole our hearts though.

I am super disappointed that we only took that one picture... I wish we would have thought of taking a picture while we were eating, or something. Oh well...

I can't wait to hear about the rest of your day... I agree - that the Gods were smiling down on you for the FL expansion soft opening, that was amazing!

D~

Tink....You are doing a TREMENDOUS job with Anakin...he was given you as his Mama for a reason! sorry he has had such a rough couple of weeks, just hold on a few more days, I hope this new dr will give you all some much needed help and answers :goodvibes

Yes your little guy is a talker and so sweet! we loved spending our time with you all

love your new bag! lucky you had the Queen of all Bags there with you to help with the fittings! bummer about the grumpy CM, guess they don't work on commission!

Appreciate your help and input! I had to laugh as your daughters asked you if you were checking out the inside to see how to make it. So when are we going to see your version?

I know, I can't believe I didn't take more pictures.

I had a bit of a heads up the day before. A friend of ours was talking about how her neighbor was starting that day at the new FL. In my heart of hearts I was hoping for a soft opening.

Not sure what was up with the cm. As you will see, our day continued like this. I think the heat was zapping the Disney magic from people.

As I mentioned earlier, the grouchy cm at TrenD seemed to start a chain reaction for us. As we left DTD, I began to switch bags. I couldn’t wait to use my new bag!! I was so excited!

We got to the TTC and showed our pass for parking. The cm was not very Disney-like either. I mentioned to Goofy that I guess this was the day for getting up on the wrong side of the bed.

Our next encounter must have fallen out of bed on the wrong side and bumped his head or something. This cm was definitely not thinking straight and was downright mean. He was directing people where to park their car. He kept motioning for Goofy to pull into the spot. Goofy, Anakin, and I pointed to the car doors and the family we would run over if we did. He was completely oblivious. He had his back facing this other car and family. He did not see them, he would not turn to look at them. He demanded we pull up now!!! Goofy shook his head, and parked in the next spot over. That got us parked now as he was demanding. Goofy asked him if he wanted him to run over that family and smash their doors. His response as he pointed to his cm badge, “See this badge?! I tell you where to park and you park or I go get security.” Goofy told him about the family and that maybe he should report him to security. The cm was still completely oblivious. Once a car was parked, he never looked at that car again. People were walking in front of cars. He was so bent on getting people to park that he had no concern for anyone’s safety. He didn’t ask anyone to walk to the front of the cars out of traffic. He should not have been working that day.

We knew the monorail was possibly down due to the construction at the GF. We saw it was opened and got in line. One of the cm’s was directing everyone the same direction, even the wheel chairs. But he was directing this new Disney style of directing. He was screaming at the top of his lungs, corralling people, strollers, and wheelchairs. DH stopped and asked another cm what was going on that wheelchairs were being diverted away from the designated car. This cm, who by the way woke up on the right side of the bed, explained to us that the last 2 trains the doors didn’t open for the designated cars, so they were having to use all the others. We got in a train and it took some creative maneuvering to get us all in the train.

I decided to check facebook. I was very happy to see friends posting about a soft opening at FL!!!

Our first stop was to get cards for the Sorcerer’s game. Boy, the park was crowded!! Man, was the sun hot!! Our second stop was FL!!

We got to FL and it was a sea of people. It was difficult to tell where the queues started. I stopped and asked a cm near Dumbo where the line starts and showed him Anakin’s GAC to ask how that works. Anakin did not want to ride Dumbo, so that saved the cm from explaining it to us. But it left us in the dark. So for those of you with a GAC, I’m not sure how they are handling the Dumbo queue.

The temperature was getting hotter. I’m sure D and her girls had a great time at the pool. It was perfect weather! We knew we couldn’t stay in FL long. We showed his GAC to the cm standing at the entrance to the Barnstormer. She directed us to a queue to the right of the main queue.

Barnstormersign-1.jpg

The time of day and the positioning of the “Goofy Targets” gave us a nice shady area once we got combined into the main queue. As you can see from the picture the two queues merge. The empty queue to the left here, is the handicap exit. I really like the new cm costumes!

I took some pictures while in the queue. Looking at the train and the restroom.

Anakin was soooooo excited to ride his favorite attraction again!!

happytoride.jpg

Once we got closer to the ride, they directed us to keep going straight where everyone else turned left. As we parked the cruiser, I asked how we exit the ride when it’s over. The cm told us to come right back to her. The chair will stay parked where we put it.

Anakin loved the ride. He said he didn’t remember it was this fun! He rode with Goofy. He had to told onto him really well. While Anakin can sit perfectly upright, we was unable to hold his body in place around turns and up and down hills. Goofy put his arm as a pillow for Anakin. He said his head did a real number on his arm. Guess it was good it was there, and that he wasn’t banging his head on the back of the seat.

We pull into the station. The cm tells everyone to exit to the right. The three of us exit to the left as the cm loading us told us too. Another cm who woke up on the wrong side of the bed and went to that scream at the top of your lungs training program was screaming at us to exit his way. Anakin turned around and started to get out of the train that way. We got him in time and turned him the other way. All this time, the cm who loaded us was trying to tell the screaming cm that we have a wheel chair. But he couldn’t hear her over his screaming. She said, to keep coming to her. He finally understood once he saw Anakin sit in his chair, and got suddenly quiet. All eyes were glued on him.

Exiting the Barn Stormer, we saw the Great Goofini cannon as we exited and the target was over by the train.

The Dumbo queue was very full. I didn’t see a wait time posted though. The attraction itself is beautiful. The landscaping looked pretty too.

Exiting FL I discovered the welcome sign!! LOL!!!

We didn’t stay in FL long. The heat was bothering Anakin. Goofy was rushing me through all the pictures. I think the total time we spent in FL was 20 minutes.

Anakin was getting overheated in just those 20 minutes so our next stop was Tortuga Tavern to cool off and play Sorcerer Mickey game. We expected crowds to be smaller in Frontierland, but they weren’t.

Frontierlandcrowd.jpg

We played one portal of Sorcerers and decided to leave the park. Anakin was so happy that he met new friends, rode his old favorite ride, got more sorcerer cards. He declared it another best day ever!

I really hope something was said to the screaming CM (by you or other CMs/guests in the area). That's just uncalled for and very poor behavior!!!! Perhaps the CM could use more time in training if they think it's acceptable to yell at guests.

Liddy, they were off the charts. In all my years of going to Disney I have never seen anything like it. We did not report either. But probably should have reported the parking lot attendant because he was jeapordizing people's safety.

I did make a comment to the cm who loaded and unloaded us from the train that it "sounds" like there are a few kinks that need to be worked out about the loading and unloading of The Barnstormer.

When we went back the next Monday, we rode the Barnstormer again. Things went much smoother (and quieter)!! As did TTC parking.

wow...guess those CM's didn't get their daily dose of pixie dust :scared1: happy things looked better the next time you went!

thanks for posting all the photos, FL sure is looking different with the new rides, looking forward to experiencing it next Thanksgiving

Yes! Learning to think on my feet. I'm not that great at improv, lol!

Thanks for the congrats!

Sometimes I think as moms we need to learn tap dancing. It would definitely come in handy sometimes.

Wow the CM in the parking lot could get a lot of people hurt. The grumpiest CM's I have ever seen were in the parking garage at DLR. Maybe it is the car exhaust.

I am glad that the CMs bad attitude didn't ruin Anakin's joy at riding his favorite ride.

What an adorable picture of him!

I am sorry he has had a bit of a rough week. Never fun to see our kids miserable...so I know the week hasn't been easy on you either.

Congrats to Grumpy!!! How awesome! I know you must be over the top proud. :goodvibes

A happy late birthday to you! I love those bags.:lovestruc Too cool.

And...the grumpy cm's :confused3 Holy cow... can you imagine if this was your one and only day EVER to be at WDW and this is how you were treated? I think the Disney bug would not bite you and you probably wouldn't go back. I wonder if how packed it was or the soft opening had people a bit on edge?:confused:

Wow...I have missed alot...including your birthday! :scared1: I am so sorry...happy belated birthday. Sounds like you got a couple of great gifts including a purse (insert jealous). The black and red budget ones look like something even I would like! You need to post a picture of your new purse! How cool to be there for soft opening...yay that Anakin got his favorite ride back! Maybe in a couple of years he and Goo and ride together...I have been telling the boys about the new game...and are so wanting to that plus Phineas and Ferb taking over Kim Possible...plus the fact that I have Jeff talked into a cruise :thumbsup2 sadly I think it will be in 2014 when we make our way back, there is just no way to save up that much money in a year with a new school for Ab next fall with higher tution! So I am going to see if we can work in a DL trip next spring to see Carsland!

hope you got some answers yesterday at the specialist :goodvibes

and stopping by to leave this....

see you when we get back!

Lol, something was definately missing. It was a fluke. We never had a consistenly bad cm encounter like that. Usually it's the total opposite and we are showered in magic and pixie dust.

I love the changed in FL, it's great to have something new to look forward too!

Yes, trying to stay one step ahead of him.

Lol, maybe.

Some day I should keep tally of how many times it changes from the worse day ever to the best day ever and back and forth. His mood is very situational.

What an adorable picture of him!

I am sorry he has had a bit of a rough week. Never fun to see our kids miserable...so I know the week hasn't been easy on you either.

Thanks. It is a sweet picture. I look at it and see how much weight he has gained the last few weeks. He had another increase in medication and it seems every increase ends up with more weight gain.

Thanks for the b-day wishes. I am enjoying my bag!

So true about if it had been our first time. The park was very packed. There was bottlenecked walking traffic inside the park. We got stuck in Frontierland. Most of the attractions had cm standing with signed showing where the end of the queue was. It was like Christmas Day but without the holiday cheer.

Thanks for the b-day wishes!

That would be fun for both boys to ride in the future. We are looking forward to the new KP. Any word on when it is to start?

New school sounds exciting! But increase in tuition doesn't sound too fun.

hope you got some answers yesterday at the specialist :goodvibes

and stopping by to leave this....

see you when we get back!

Thanks for the Easter greeting. I hope you are having a blast on your cruise!!

We didn't get any answers at the specialist. The neuro is going to run some more tests before he makes any recommendations.

This is going to sound like an off the wall prayer request, but for the tests they are running April 10 and 11, he needs to have some seizures so they can see where they are originating. He is having an inpatient video EEG.

After going 3 days without seizures, he had one on Friday morning. For the first time since Father's Day 2010 we now had emergency medication to give him to stop it. He stopped right away with the medicine!

We are now back to 2 nights seizure free! He played baseball yesterday! They had him hit of the T the first time up to bat, but pitched the second time and he nailed it!! He surprised everybody with the power behind the hit.

We went out to eat after the game. When it was time to leave, we had to walk down 2 steps. He shocked us again, but this time not in a good way. He couldn't do the steps. He clung to me and the railing. I think the horizontal stripes on the steps messed with his depth perception.

The rest of the day went great! We stopped by Legoland and checked out their new Florida agriculture display, watched a Lego movie, saw the water ski show for the first time and walked through the old area of Cypress Gardens. It rained while we were there, but we hit it great! We were in the movie theater when rained the first time. The next time we were under cover at the water ski show! Pictures to follow.

We all watched the Kid's Choice awards last night and had a great time watching that. Another best day ever!

Gee, I watched the Kids Choice awards last night too. I sat with my 17 year old daughter who is in love with Big Time Rush and watched the show.

Cool! I know there was more slime this year, but I preferred last year's sliming. No seizures last night. He can't watch Dancing with the Stars, the flashing lights on the stage give him problems.
