Disney Dolphin, car rental pickup?

We are staying at the Swan and want to go to Discovery Cove for a day. Has anyone rented a car from the Dolphin hotel for pick up or should we just get a cab? Discovery also includes Seaworld tickets so it might just be best for us to get the rental...

I have never rented from the Dolphin but I did drop my rental off there last year. It's a National agency, great service and very handy. I guess it depends on the price of a cab ride to Sea World versus a one day rental. Sorry but I can't help you on that.

We rented from the Dolphin last May..Alamo. It was very quick and easy. Compare what the cost of the rental would be versus a cab or towncar.

We were supposed to pick up our rental car at the Dolphin last year. We reserved on-line our pick-up time for 6 PM, only to arrive and find out that the desk closes at 4 PM! Thankfully, the Car Care Center is open later and we were able to just pick up a car from there. So just be warned the counter at the Dolphin closes at 4 PM.

Discovery Cove is by SeaWorld right? with tip r/t it should cost you about 85$ if not a bit more. That is for a cab.

We rented a car for the day at National (Dolphin) and with tax and everything it was like 40$!!! so worth it and sooo easy! we took it for 24hrs, even though we only needed it for one day. We picked up the car early on Thursday morning and then we dropped it off early on Friday since we didn't need it for that day! worked out great for us!

We did the same with National at the Dolphin. DH would not allow DD to take a towncar alone back to the airport. ( She had to get back to college and had to return earlier than the rest of the family) He rented a car for one day. It worked out great.

I just rented a car from National at the Dolphin last Friday. Both National and Alamo are at the same counter. Very quick, easy and inexpensive, $34 for the day with Entertainment Book coupon.

Is the alamo rental counter easy to find at the swan and dolphin?
My parents have to return their car there, and I was not sure waht to tell them.
Can anyone tell me where it is?

Yes it's pretty easy. It's just off the main lobby follow the signs for guest services/rental cars.

It is very convenient but last year my husband had to rent a car to run to business meeting and when he went to pick up the luxury car he had rented they told him they didn't have any luxury cars left and they only had a jeep for him. He wasn't thrilled but made the best of it. Other than that it was great.
