Disney dollars

Ok, so I call the nearest DisneyStore about purchasing Disney Dollars. She tells me that they are theme park exclusive. However, you may purchase Disney Gift Cards that may be used in the theme parks. I even asked about the mail order system to purchase Disney Dollars and that is no longer available.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was going to purchase $50 worth of Disney Dollars and put them in DD's birthday card in May for our June trip!!!!! I guess a gift card will be ok.

Check eBay, there are some sellers there that still sell the paper money

Ever since the stores stopped carrying them, many people will set that money aside safely, then make up their own versions of Disney Dollars. Those are then redeemed at the park with you, for real ones, you having bought some at the first giftshop you saw.


That said, a giftcard turned out to work very well with DS, even as a brand new 5 year old. The Ddollars are so cute, but you don't get to keep them. The giftcards have the money "on" them, and you get to keep them if you want as a souvenir. disneyshopping.com has them, but disneyland.com does too, in many designs!

Another perk to the gift card is that if it is lost or stolen you can have it replaced ( as long as you have your receipt), with Disney Dollars your out of luck if somehting happens.
