disney dollars

AS far as I am aware they do not have anything like this or an equivalent to this at DLP, sorry, I know they are great things to collect!

On your way out of the Disneyland Park, just past the turnstiles on your left, there is a small machine on the wall that sells DLRP Euros. They cost (surprisingly) one euro, and there were three different types last october.
They arent legal tender in the parks though, just souvenirs.

My daughter insisted on having one of each, and they are quite substantial, made of metal and gold coloured. I think most people miss this machine as loads of people were asking where we got them.

I shall have to look out for this one!

Are these Euro`s coins or paper money?

They are coins, they have a DLRP scene on the back and three different themes on the front. If I can, I'll try and upload a scan of our coins.

Incidentally, I thought the machine would be in the Brit's Guide but it isnt.

Strange thing is, that one machine tucked away by the exit is the only place we saw them for sale - none of the shops had them, which is why people quizzed us about them.

Hope it helps :cool1:

I've never noticed that before - wish I knew about this three weeks ago!

If this is like the "pressed pennies" there was a machine in the shop of the Rainforest Cafe for these. DS got some last year, not Disney of course but still a good souvenir.Julie.

No, they are actual coins. I managed to borrow one from Rachel long enough to scan it. Actual size is 35mm.

We got these two (can't remember which one from where though) in the resort. One was from a shop in the Studios where we had a number to pick from, the other was from a machine under the Disneyland Railroad Station. Both were 2 euros each and I wanted to get one as we'd done the same last year.

They also had these machines in Disney Village outside the Disney Store, if I remember rightly. Next to it was a Panoramagique souvenir coin machine but it wasn't working whilst we were there unfortunately.

The coin on the left has a small '2006' on the reverse, I've a feeling this is the one from the machine. My daughter got hers from the shop in the studios, will see if she can remember the other designs.

Looks like theyve got more machines and more designs - I got ours last year at Halloween.

Thanks for the info - something else to look forward to this year :thumbsup2

This is the one we got in 2005, this was from the machine as I don't recall them being on show in any of the stores.

I can't believe people have not spotted these. They were at the tills at most shops on my previous two visits (can't remember before then!) There was about 3 designs and I think I annoyed the CM behind the till by asking for a particular one (mickey with the castle) She had to rummage through a big jar full of them to find it :rolleyes1

I will definitely give these a look see!

These coins look great! Can`t believe I have never seen them on four trips! I have to get some next time, it`s a nice memory with the year printed on them. That thread just made me realize again how cool and informative the DIS is! :thumbsup2
