Okay...I have about $400 Disney Dollars, that I have collected over the year and 1/2 since we booked. I have received them as birthday gifts. We gave them to our kids for birthdays; Valentines, Christmas and will do so at Easter too, while we are on the ship.

I just want to confirm that yes, indeed we can use the Disney Dollars to settle up our bill upon disembarkation.

Thanks!!

You sure can! We recieved a few hundred as wedding gifts...and we used them to pay off the account at guest services for our honeymoon DCL cruise. I LOVE Disney Dollars!

Just a thought here - if you want to use Disney Dollars to help settle your bill, do it earlier in your cruise than on disembarkation day.

We found that DCL charged our credit card every couple of hundred dollars, when we received our final statement under the door the morning we disembarked - it essentially came with a "0" balance, since that had been charged as well.

Yes, they will take the disney dollars at guest services, just don't wait until you are leaving.

Can you use them along the way to pay off the cruise before hand? I have the Disney Visa Rewards card type.

You have to call Visa and ask them to send you the rewards card. Then when you want to spend the Rewards $, you can go online or call Visa to have them transferred to the card. When we transferred ours online, they were available immediately.

I'm not perfectly clear on this, but they do seem to expire after you put them on the card and I'm not sure they are replaceable if you lose the card (?) so don't transfer them til around the time you'll be using them.
