Disney Dollars and gift cards

I have about $250 in DD and GC. I wondered if they spend like regular money in Disney? Can I get a fennel cake in Epcot with the Disney dollars? Can we pay for food with the gift cards?

I just really don't know how to use them

Hi there..

You can use the dollars and the gift cards anyplace!!! They are like cash or credit card... sometimes if you use the dollars and need change, like if you are buying something for $3.00, and give them a $5.00 in Dis dollars, they might give you cash back as change... I actually combined ALL of the kids dollars and put them on the cards... my youngest had over $500 in dollars, figured it was easy to keep track of the gift card. Also, if you use the card, your remaining balance prints out on your receipt every time you use it!

Disney dollars are accepted any where on Disney property or at the disney stores. Gift cards are also accepted at the same places, however, some of the street vendors can't accept them because they do not have any way to swipe the card. Disney is in the process of up grading them.

Last year, no vendors were able to take our gift cards, however, friends of ours went in April and they said that some of the MK street vendors were able to process them.

Yep - use them everywhere! I love them - they are worth months of "bribery" for good behavior at my house. (We set up a chore chart for a few months before every WDW trip - they earn Disney dollars to use on the trip for whatever they want.) Have fun spending them!

Thanks friends. I have gotten $225 from cashduck so far and redeemed it all in either Dollars or GC for our September trip. I only have $25 for this trip but it is still free money.
