Disney Divas Getaway!!

i like the idea for a girls trip to do something like that... and being I have at least one hopefully next year with friends from college. I am going to be a busy little traveler next year it seems

When the first Diva (Missy) turned 40 (two years ago) she wanted a party...so we threw her a big blow out with a Margaritaville theme! (rented a hall, catered food, margarita machines, etc) After her husband reimbursed us for the cost we thought we could go on a really nice trip for the cost of the party (not to mention the labor we all put into it...) so when Diva #2 (Mary) turned 40 we all went on a cruise (last September Carnival Ecstasy of the Sea to Mexico.) I originally had called dibs on Disney World for my 40th but when Diva #3 (Becky) didn't know what she wanted to do for her 40th and free dining was being offered this September (her birthday month) I gave it up! I don't turn 40 for another 3 years and Diva Sheryll (aka Firecracker75 on the Disboards!) is younger still...so we'll have plenty of time to plan and save for our getaways!

Okay, Okay! So I am finally testing the posting waters! This is Firecracker75 - aka Diva Sheryll - aka Tie Dye Fairy - aka "The Diva Baby" (not really a baby just the youngest).
Just came from Mamma Mia - took DM to see as a treat since I already saw it with my DIVAS last weekend. I cannot tell you how ready I am for Disney, a DoleWhip (w/ a "splash" or rum) and some ABBA karaoke all wrapped in a great big Disney bow and topped with extra pixie dust!
So, as my official hello let me say .... HOWDY, HELLO, HOLA!!!!

Oh, and a great BIG virtual hug to DIVA KRIS - you make my heart giggle!

Having seen the stage play version and loving it I found the movie to be disappointing. I felt that the two big leads, Streep and Bronson were distracting and poorly cast in this production. Just did not fit IMO.

I usually buy any musical, old or new but will not buy this one.

It is just my opinion and your mileage may vary. I have read that others loved it.

I also did not like Johnny Depp's Sweeny Todd. I like blood and gore as much as any other disturbed person but felt it was grossly overdone.

Can you tell that I am a mystery shopper and get paid to criticize stuff?

I was skeptical about Meryll Streep but was pleasantly surprised.....I found it uncomfortable to watch Pierce Bronson sing but has nothing to do with his abilities just my preconceived notions...I don't think it will win any acting awards but it was fun to watch (I am still singing the songs in my head a week later!)

Diva Kristin, make sure to take a warm coat with you on that cruise. How delightful to think that you might need a bit of warmth in the midst of this heat wave.

I saw your post about Tony's and the parade but cannot find it again. I will save as many seats as possible that night and if you show up we will find room for you. I might even forgo my usual activity of piling children on the table and in front of it between the rails. It is one of my favorite things too! I will bring more presents for them to make up for it though.

The Divas will be there for Spectro and Wishes on 9/8...we will have our white tiara shirts on (and our light up tiaras once it gets dark!)

Exhaustion and lots of dirty clothes...signs of a great vacation!
Mound of laundry up to window in laundry room!
At least it wasn't hot so we didn't sweat and could double up on outfits.
Now I have to get back into Disney Diva mode...

I wouldn't exactly call it relaxing...we were always doing something (kinda like Disney!) but it was definately fun!
