Disney discounted room only offer on UK-Expedia; ended 31 March.

Just volunteered and clicked the Cancel Room on my Itinerary under Manage Booking.

That directed me to another page and in a box it states the following (copied below) where you can either click on 'CANCEL THIS ROOM' or 'Do not cancel this room' which I quickly clicked on.

Room Price Paid £54.85. - Rates shown in GBP.
Cancel now for a full refund of: £54.85
This hotel room is fully refundable with no penalties if canceled by 4:00 PM, March, 2014. Time is based on the local time of the hotel.

When will I get my refund?
While Expedia will process your refund the day of cancellation, it generally takes five to seven business days for your bank to post the refund to the original form of payment. This time can take longer, depending on the bank.

CANCEL THIS ROOM

Do not cancel this room

For those who've already booked especially those who chose to pay in dollars and not pounds then it might be worth trying the first step of cancelling to check the amount of refund but ensure you press the option 'Do not cancel this room' and please post your results.

Happy to find this thread - thanks OP for all your work! Unfortunately I'm not finding any deals for Apr 13-19 -- you showed a deal above for those dates for a value resort, but we are looking at deluxes preferably club level. I'm still going to play around on the site and see what I can find, thanks!

Can only find one and that's at Disney's Beach Club Resort in a Standard View at Club Level for 2-adults and 2-child, found a few more club's but those seemed to be around the same price as the US site, sorry about that.

The following is for 7-nights checking in 13th-20th April (sorry realised after you only wanted 6-nights)

UK-Expedia: £2,828.42, approx $4,690
US-Expedia: $5,725
Potential savings up to $1,035

Found another but only a small saving of 8.5% at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa for 2-adults and 2-child in an Outer Lodge Standard Room Club Level.

UK-Expedia: £4,266.43, approx $6,873
US-Expedia: $7,528
Potential savings up to $655

For those of you in the US that did this expedia Uk deal, did you book through your phone (mobile) or a computer? I am trying to do it through my phone and it is not working. The same error, lurkernj got, I am getting. In red it says to enter credit card # which I am doing. Wondering if it's fine to book the reg. site and not their mobile site.

The only reason I haven't tried yet is because there is a coupon code to use if you book via mobile.

edit: I went on the reg. site and it does not take certain credit cards. Ugh! I think the disney visa has foreign transaction fees. Going to look into it now.

Now searching for your 6-night dates.

Disney's Beach Club Resort for 2-adults and 2-children in a Lagoon View - Club Level.

UK-Expedia: £2,589.30, approx $4,290.
US-Expedia: $5,622.
Potential saving up to $1.330

Will add more If I find any....

If you don't mind a split stay there's availability for your last two nights in the Yacht Club in a Standard View Club Level for £808.12, approx $1,340 against US-Expedia of $1,635.76.

Only found a small saving at Disney's Wilderness Lodge in a Standard Room - Club Level
UK-Expedia: £2,622.54, approx $4,346
US-Expedia: $4,583.28

Might be best to use a computer, but if you were trying with a mobile so to get an extra discount such as doing it through the UK Expedia Mobile App with their current offer of 10% OFF YOUR FIRST HOTEL BOOKING then the conditions state.....

'The voucher code is an offer from Expedia.co.uk and may only be used by legal residents of the UK aged 18 and over'.

And if you're trying a US voucher on the UK-site then I don't think it will recognise the code.

Hope you can sort something out.....

If you looking for a short 3-night vacation in March than check out the following saving at Disney's Yacht Club Resort in a garden view room for checking in on Friday 21st March.

UK-Expedia: £481.41, approx $800.
US-Expedia: $1,254.47 (This is possibly the same price as with Disney's Spring-Savings of 30% off deluxe resorts.)
Rack-rate for those 3-nights approx $1,791.
UK savings over rack rate of 55%, $991.
And with savings of up to $454 over US-Expedia it's almost like getting the equivalent of free dining for two adults and 2 children.:woohoo: and some could stretch that saving a little further by using that $454 to buy $500 in Disney Gift Cards through Target+Pharmacy, helps with the tipping.....

We're now doubting ourselves as we can't believe some of the savings, so can someone please recheck those same 3-nights at the Yacht in a garden room, many thanks...

Also, there's limited availability around those dates in a garden room.

Doubt yourselves no longer! I just checked and rack rate for this 3-night stay at YC in garden view room is $1,792 USD ... I also checked the pricing with the 30% Spring discount offer, and you are correct again, the same stay is $1,254.50. Thanks so much for posting this information! It is making a huge difference in the cost of our family reunion trip this Summer!! :)

So is there tax or any hidden fees after looking at the prices? I have some flights that need to be changed and I can go down anytime before November 18th so I was looking at May 2nd-6th for a long weekend trip. CBR is about $560. It would be $681.76 including tax if I use WDW's website.

Previous posters have not mentioned any hidden fees or taxes so the price you pay UK-Expedia is the full price, that is unless your credit card adds a currency fee.

Just checked your dates and yes, a standard room at CBR is quoted at £336.00, approx $558, an 18% saving over WDW's website.

And if not yet checked then there's lot's of helpful info added by previous posters who've already booked.

Good luck and have a great time.

Hi Katie and many thanks for checking, we're so amazed at some of the savings we've found, can't ever remember seeing a 55% discount to the general public and it not being a glitch, well not on this side of the Atlantic, there's certainly some bargains to be found.

Great to read you're making a saving and have a wonderful summer vacation and family reunion.

There's still some March savings, this example is for a family suite for 2 adults and 4 children, checking in Saturday 8th March for 7-nights.

Disney's All-Star Music Resort Family Suite.
UK-Expedia: £755, approx $1,251.
US-Expedia: $2,497.
Savings over US-Expedia of $1,246.

Disney's Art of Animation Resort either in a Cars, Finding Nemo or Lion King family suite.
UK-Expedia: £1,198, approx $1,985
US-Expedia: $3,026.
Saving $1,041

Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort in a Wilderness Cabin.
UK-Expedia: £1,342, approx $2,225
US-Expedia: $3,126.
Saving $901

Old Key West Resort or Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa in a 2-bedroom villa.
UK-Expedia: £1,905, approx $3,160
US-Expedia: $6,806.
Saving $3,646.

If renting you'll require 296-points for an OKW 2-bed, therefore the UK-Expedia price is equivalent to renting at $10.70 per point.

Can I just say, I am in absolute amazement at this thread. It makes me want to book a vacation just to save money (even though I'm spending money).

I DID IT!

Booked Yacht Club for 4/5-4/9 (4 nights) - garden view

641.88 lbs or $1064.04!!

Now I just have to explain to my employer why my receipt is in pounds when I submit to be reimbursed, as I am going for a conference :)

I also can now explain why some people note that their reservations have a request for a king bed. When booking, there is a place under your name and phone number fields that asks about bedding. You have to click on it, but it defaults to king bed instead of 2 Queens.

Now that did make us laugh and we're so so sorry its making you want to spend, spend, spend, thanks for posting.

That's great news and thanks for the info on room selection.
When you get time can you please follow-up on the process with regard to the receiving the Disney confirmation number and then adding it to 'My Disney Experience'. Ours never showed up so we called after 3-weeks and was given the number and we've now noticed it's been updated overnight on Expedia. We added the reservation to My Disney Experience and choose our Fast-Passes as we have annual passes, so all's looking good to go.
Enjoy your Yacht upgrade and good luck when claiming......

Thanks for finding this! I didn't see it the other day when I checked. It is one of the resorts we are considering. That final cost is a bit less than the cheaptickets.com offer. I'm going to go back on the site and see if I can find this deal -- I'm also hopeful for Poly or GF TPV CL, so I'm going to search for those too. Thanks again -- you are so helpful! :goodvibes

Ugh! I think the disney visa has foreign transaction fees. Going to look into it now.

Does anyone know if DV does charge a foreign transaction fee? I only have that and Chase Freedom as my cc and would like to earn some points when I book my hotel.

Soooo close to booking our stay in March. I just need to not get charged any fees. :scared:
