Disney discounted room only offer on UK-Expedia; ended 31 March.

I think they're on to us! I can't find any availability on the UK site for any Disney resorts at all today.

Maybe not as availability is back, so I checked a few dates and there's still some savings to be made and here's a few examples to check.

Disney's All-Star Sports Resort - Preferred Room
2 Nights: Apr/11/2014 - Apr/13/2014
US- Disney: $409.06
US-Expedia: $325.80
UK-Expedia: £120 = $200, so a potential saving of up to $125.

Disney's Yacht Club Resort Lagoon View - Club Level
2 Nights: 29/Mar/2014 - 31/Mar/2014
US- Disney: $1,792.13 (Is that the normal price?)
US-Expedia: $1,254.47
UK-Expedia: £513.36 = $854, so a potential saving of up to $400 over US-Expedia.

If someone can please check the above and also against any discounts like AP then that would be very helpful,........

Holy cow! If I did this right, I found 8 nights at Animal Kingdom for 1093 pounds or about $1808 in May. Disney's current price with the promo for that time frame is $2904. (That is just for a standard view room.)

Not sure where you get $2904 from. I checked WDW website and for May 30th to June 7th (8 nights standard room), I get $2135! :confused3

I must have been doing my math wrong earlier. I'm getting a 12% lower price on an 8 night stay at CSR in June. That might not be worth the trouble of cancelling and currency conversion fees.

I swear when I checked with Disney it told me $363/night. Just checked again and $249/night came up. :confused3 Sorry for the misinformation!

First off, thank you to OP for the heads up on the UK Expedia site.

I have successfully booked a WDW hotel stay for this spring on the UK Expedia site.

I apologize if this has been mentioned already (have not read the thread in its entirety) but wanted to share in case this helps anyone else.

It appears to me that the UK Expedia site prices each night at the same rate (ie: no higher rates for weekends/holidays).

So if you are looking for a weekend stay, a holiday stay or (to maximize savings) a holiday weekend stay :thumbsup2, you will realize the most savings.

I saved $32 CAD/night so thanks again to OP!

I think you were looking at the rack rate on the first screen. The new price is for Stay, Play, and Save discounted (30%) rate. You actually have to click on the Explore Our Specials. It is still more expensive than the UK price, but not by that much.

Great that you've made some savings and spot on Belle599 with "the UK Expedia site prices each night at the same rate (ie: no higher rates for weekends/holidays). I've not taken into consideration any discounts like Disney's Stay, Play, and Save, AP, AAA, etc.

But it's certainly worth checking UK-Expedia especially for dates that might not be included in any discounts.

Looking at the blackout dates for Disney's Stay, Play, and Save for checking in Friday 7th March for 7-nights.

All-Star Sports Standard View Room for 2 adults, 2 children
US - Disney: $1,135.65
US-Expedia: $1,130.66
UK-Expedia: £378.63 - approx $650, so a potential saving of up to 42%

All-Star Music Family Suite up to 6 Adults
US - Disney: $2,591.09
US-Expedia: $2,579.65
UK-Expedia: £754.46 = approx $1,279, a potential saving of up to 50%.

Beach Club Standard View room for 2 adults and 3 children.
US - Disney: $3,974.65
US-Expedia: $3,974.65
UK-Expedia: £1,109.78 = approx $1,900, a potential saving of up to 52%

So it would be interesting if someone could please check the above dates/resorts against any discounts they have and post results.

And if you are thinking of booking on the UK site then please be aware of any differences in booking conditions, the cancellation policy and a possible reduced refund due to negative currency fluctuations, extra payment for a 3rd/4th adult for some rooms, credit card currency fees, etc., and please post your experience both positive/negative when making the booking and if soon through to checking-in.

I was able to book one night at ASSp, std. location, for 54.09 ($89.79 USD) for one night in mid-March of this year.

The AP rate for the same night on Disney's website was $114.42 with tax.

The rate on Orbitz.com for the same room, same night was $106.86 with tax when using the HOTEL15 discount code.

I'm heading down to see my nephew march at the MK and just needed a value room for the first night before my stay at OKW begins. This was much cheaper than booking somewhere offsite and then paying for ground transportation.

One question for those who booked - How do you link the reservation in MDE? Has anyone tried yet? I'm not having any success using the itinerary number on the confirmation email. It's not a huge deal because I'm probably not even going to go into the parks that night but it would be nice to have it in there in case I book an earlier flight.

Wait a couple days then go back to the Expedia UK site. Click on my itineraries and put in the number and your email. Toward the top right hand side of the page, it will say "confirmed" with another confirmation number. Put that into MDE under link my reservation.

:thumbsup2 It took me a few days to view my itinerary since I had mistyped my e-mail address and couldn't find the confirmation on the website, but once I sorted out my e-mail issue, the Disney confirmation number was there along with the Expedia number. I had no trouble linking to MDE.

Thanks! I guess that I'll just have to be patient for a few more days.

Thank you so much, Samaya, for taking the time to post this - you are a great example of why the DIS rocks!!!

I was booked at Pop from 3/15 - 3/18 with an AP rate for $405.00. I just used the UK site to upgrade to CBR for only $14 more - $419.16 total.

I also had my annual trip booked for 10/25 - 11/7 in a king room at CBR for $3007.00. Using this site I added a night and still saved almost $1000! The grand total for 14 nights in a king room is only $2013.98.

A tip if you haven't booked yet - when you put your US credit card info in to pay, it will give you the GBP rate (which includes only the exact Expedia charge) and the US rate (which is the exact amount your card will be charged). If you know your credit card company doesn't charge a foreign transaction fee, I'd suggest you use the GBP rate. I used the US rate for my October trip and the total was about $30.00 more than the price I calculated with the real-time currency converter. However, I used the GBP rate on the March trip and the total charged to my credit card (Capital One, which I confirmed does not charge a foreign transaction fee) was about $30.00 less than the US rate Expedia would have charged.

Thank you gracielou and really happy that you've made savings and almost a free upgrade on another vacation.

We stumbled on the lower room rates when we were looking for a one-night booking for our March vacation, we normally arrive late in the day at MCO so usually book into an off-site hotel and then check in on-site bright and early the next morning. So three weeks ago we started searching UK-Expedia for our normal off-site hotel and found a comparable rate at the Sports for £54.83 ($91) so quickly booked that instead.

We posted soon after on the Dis UK Trip Planning Forum about the Expedia offer and it was a week or so later that we realised the difference in pricing between the UK and US web sites, so we checked out the US-DisBoards to see if anyone else had commented on those savings and as we couldn't find one we started this thread and think it's our first on the Budget-Board.

And many thanks for posting your tips and break-down as that will help highlight all the potential savings and best wishes for two very magical vacations at the Caribbean Beach.

More kudos to OP. I just booked Beach Club for $265/night with taxes for our spring break the first week in April. That's a savings of $123/night!

We do the same thing for our October trip every year. I haven't been finding great deals for the past couple of years, but I know the first place I'm going to check this year! Thanks again!

Does everyone feel confident there will be no problems with this. Because, this would be amazing for me. I have 4 nights at POR 4/5-4/9 and Expedia.co.uk will let me book Yaht Club for just a few dollars more a night. It is for a conference that I am going to and need there not to be a problem.

As you're a little unsure then my advice would be to go ahead and book so long as your Port Orleans reservation has the same free cancellation policy as a UK booking.

So book the Yacht Club garden room for £641.88 (approx $1,060) then wait for feedback from those who've made reservations for March or earlier and hopefully that will be soon and positive, then cancel the Port Orleans reservation for a full refund.

And if not already done so then please read the tip from gracielou in post #74 on payment and fingers crossed for a Yacht Club conference stay.........
