My mum and dad have booked Disney dining plan (snack, counter and table) for our summer holiday next year and I was wondering if anyone could tell me any restaurants that we should go to or any tips on how to use the dining credits. Any answers to my questions would be very helpful.

By the way although I am only 11 I get adult meals yeehaw :thumbsup2

we had the table service plan this year and it took us a few days to get the hang of it - the main thing i found was that the counter service meals were HUGE we ended up sharing just one meal between 2 !

there are links on here for the menus for all the table and quick service menus so have a read through and see if theres any that take your fancy :)

its great fun though best to do it on a full stomach :lmao:

we loved crystal palace and tuskers for the character breakfast - character meals are a great way of getting pics with characters without queueing !

apart from those we loved coral reef and 50s prime time diner

the main thing is that you make reservations in advance - we changed our minds on a few a couple of months before we went and had difficulty getting what we wanted !

hope this is a start for you :goodvibes:goodvibes

Below is a post i made just yesterday in another thread. Never done the Table dining just the Quick Counter but my fav sit in has got to be the SciFi Dine In in the Studios. Food is ok but atmosphere is great :)

My brothers and i love the QS plan. We always stay at the Port Orleans and whilst you can use a token for breakfast we tend to use the 2 meal tokens in the parks or DTD in the evening , Earl of Sandwich being our fav there.

In the Magic Kingdom we like eating in Cosmic Rays or the Inn that serves the fish nar the Haunted Mansion , forgot the name.

In EPCOT we like Sunshine Seaons in the Land pavillion because of the great choice you get there on the plan.

In AK we like the Flame Tree BBQ for the food choice and the outside location down by the lake looking over to Everest.

In MGM , sry DHS , we like the Backlot Express for the atmosphere and chance to take in a Jedi show.

The Quick Counter plan gives so many options with something for everyone so unless you prefer your sit down , waiter served food for me it's good enough.

The 2 snacks a day you get can be used in the hotel shop in the evning for sweets and stuff like candyfloss buckets and bags of Disney chocs , or like us you can cash all your remaining "tokens" in at the end of your trip for lots of small treats . The first time we used the plan we had a combined waste of around 20 snack tokens , only on the second time there did the nice lady in the Riverside Store tell us we can spend them in their shop.

If you are visiting in July/August, it would be worthwhile making Advanced Dining Reservations (you can book up to 180 days in advance) as when we have been at Disney in August over the past few years, there have been very few "walk-ups" available in the parks.

If you don't like the idea of making reservations so far in advance, then consider eating at "odd" times such as 11:30 for lunch or 16:00 for dinner - more chance of getting a table - or trying the resort hotels (e.g. Contemporary, Grand Floridian or Contemporary if visiting Magic Kingdom). Also worth checking with your hotel concierge (if staying on-site) in the morning for availability for restaurants.

You can also free up some days by booking a couple of Signature Restaurants or Dinner Shows that use two Table Service credits. As noted above, as the Counter Service meals are quite large, you could easily share 2 meals between three of you and therefore keep a couple of credits for days you would not have a Table Service credit.

Maybe have a look through the menus and make a list of which restaurants you would like to try, then try and work these into any planned theme park visits you have.

Thank you for all replies, we are going in June/July. Could anybody tell me what kind of food your favourite restaurants serve?

Also is there any good Disney steakhouses?

As far as steaks.......
Le Cellier (EPCOT Canada) - 1 TS credit lunch 2 TS credit Evening
Yachtsman Steakhouse (Yacht Club resort) 2 TS credits
Grand Floridan Cafe (Grand Floridian Resort) 1 TS credit (My favourite!!)

Also try Teppen Edo (EPCOT Japan) for something entertaining
Chef de France (EPCOT France)

My favourite 2 TS credit by far - Narcoossee in Grand Floridan resort

We thought the Captain's Grille at the Yacht Club was good value for 1TS credit - really nice surroundings, not rushed, and on the Boardwalk and within an easy stroll of EPCOT.

Thanks for a the suggestions. Yachtman's Steak House might make it on to the list.
Thinking also about Hoop De Doo Review as another 2TS option.

We certainly enjoyed Hoop de Doo - food isn't up to the Signature restaurant standards but then it's more about the entertainment rather than the food. It was our daughters favourite meal last year.

One tip is that beer and wine are also included, so if planning on a few drinks, maybe worth using Disney Transportation to get you there and back. Certainly last year there were buses directly back to our resort (OKW) from Fort Wilderness, although not sure if there was a direct bus there.
